Walltime measurements have been noisy however they're hosted: the shared macro pool queues for 20+ minutes and mixes runner generations, and any real-time measurement is sensitive to machine load and thread timing. Simulation mode measures simulated CPU instruction counts, so results are deterministic regardless of where they run. Simulation is valgrind-based and Linux-only, so this moves the job off the macOS runner and back onto depot-ubuntu-24.04 (still a dedicated Depot machine, not the codspeed pool). Net effect is the original #3784 setup with atuin-search-bench included.
