ASoC: Updates for v7.0
This release is almost all abut driers, there's very little core work
here, although some of that driver work is in more generic areas like
SDCA and SOF:
- Generic SDCA support for reporting jack events.
- Continuing platform support, cleanup and feature improements for the
AMD, Intel, Qualcomm and SOF code.
- Platform description improvements for the Cirrus drivers.
- Support for NXP i.MX952, Realtek RT1320 and RT5575, and Sophogo
CV1800B.
We also pulled in one small SPI API update and some more substantial
regmap work (cache description improvements) for use in drivers.
Add support for using the state of pins on the amplifier to indicate
the type of speaker fitted.
Previously, where there were alternate speaker vendors, this was
indicated using host CPU GPIOs.
Some new Dell models use spare pins on the CS35L63 as GPIOs for the
speaker ID detection.
Cirrus-specific SDCA Disco properties provide a list of the pins to be
used, and pull-up/down settings for the pads. This list is ordered,
MSbit to LSbit.
The code to set the firmware filename has been modified to check for
using chip pins for speaker ID. The entire block of code to set
firmware name has been moved out of cs35l56_component_probe() into
its own function to make it easier to KUnit test.

and improve some FDL error messages.
TAS2781 driver supports three solutions of calibrated data. The first is
from the driver itself: driver reads the calibrated files directly during
probe; The second is from user space: during init of audio hal, the audio
hal will pass the calibrated data via kcontrol interface. Driver will
store this data in "struct calidata" for use. The third is from UEFI,
mainly used in hda device. These three solutions save the calibrated data
into different data structures. It is time to put them together into
"struct calidata" for use.

The main goal is to convert drivers to use GPIO descriptors. While reading
the code, I think it is time to remove ak4641 and pxa2xx-ac97 driver,
more info could be found in commit log of each patch.
Then only need to convert sound/arm/pxa2xx-ac97-lib.c to use GPIO
descriptors. Not have hardware to test the pxa2xx ac97.
Since commit d6df7df7ae ("ARM: pxa: remove unused board files"), there
has been no in-tree user of the AK4641 codec driver. The last user
(HP iPAQ hx4700) was a non-DT PXA board file that instantiated the device
via I2C board data; that code was removed as part of the PXA board-file
purge.
The AK4641 driver was introduced ~2011 and still probes only via the I2C
device-ID table ('.id_table'), without an 'of_match_table', so there are
no upstream Devicetree users to retain. With no in-tree users left, remove
the driver.

Because struct snd_soc_dapm_context is soc-dapm framework specific, user
driver don't need to access its member directly, we would like to hide
them. struct snd_soc_dapm_context will be removed from header in the
future.
Current card/component are using dapm_context instance. But it will be
moved to soc-dapm.c, and we can use will be only pointer. Makes it to

Add a function cs_amp_devm_get_vendor_specific_variant_id() to return
a vendor-specific hardware identifier string (if there is one) and use
it to fetch an identifier from Dell SSIDExV2 UEFI variable content.
Dell use the same PCI SSID on multiple products that might have different
audio hardware and thus need different firmware for the amplifier DSP.
The SSIDExV2 string contains additional system identifiers, and the
second field is a 2-character audio hardware identifier.
There are older Dell models with Cirrus Logic amplifiers that have the
SSIDExV2 UEFI variable but do not have the 2-character audio ID in the
second field. The SSIDExV2 is ignored if the second field is not
2 characters.

Some fixups to the jack handling, adding some necessary hooks to connect
things with the machine driver. I have split these out from the system
suspend chain as that has been generating a fair amount of discussion
and getting these 3 merged is far more important to get basic
functionality working smoothly. I will do a spin of the system suspend
stuff soon, if either no new comments pop up, or we reach some consensus
on how to proceed.
When there is no fallback possibility available for the function topology
use it is better to try to create a profile for the card in best effort
manner, leaving out non supported links for example.
As an example: some laptops present SSPx-BT link but we don't have fragment
yet to support this. If we only have support for functional topology
without monolithic fallback then we would fail the card creation.
The reason why the monolithic topology works on the same device is that it
does not have the SSPx-BT link handled, it is ignored.
In case when there is no fallback possibility we should try to create the
card with links that we support as best effort instead of failing and
leaving the user without a card.

On system suspend / resume we always power up the DSP and boot the
firmware, which is not strictly needed as right after the firmware booted
up we power the DSP down again on suspend and we also power it down after
resume after some inactivity.
Out of caution, add a new platform descriptor flag to enable on-demand
DSP boot since this might not work without changes to platform code on
certain platforms.
With the on-demand dsp boot enabled we will not boot the DSP and firmware
up on system or rpm resume, just enable audio subsystem since audio IPs,
like HDA and SoundWire might be needed (codecs suspend/resume operation).
Only boot up the DSP during the first hw_params() call when the DSP is
really going to be needed.
In this way we can handle the audio related use cases:
normal audio use (rpm suspend/resume)
system suspend/resume without active audio
system suspend/resume with active audio
system suspend/resume without active audio, and audio start before the rpm
suspend timeout
Add module option to force the on-demand DSP boot to allow it to be
disabled or enabled without kernel change for testing.

Introduce a bus specific probe and remove function. For now this only
allows to get rid of a cast of the generic device to an snd_seq device
in the drivers and changes the remove prototype to return void---a
non-zero return value is ignored anyhow.
The objective is to get rid of users of struct device callbacks
.probe(), .remove() and .shutdown() to eventually remove these. Until
all snd_seq drivers are converted this results in a runtime warning
about the drivers needing an update because there is a bus probe
function and a driver probe function.

This is a very large set of updates, as well as some more extensive
cleanup work from Morimto-san we've also added a generic SCDA class
driver for SoundWire devices enabling us to support many chips with
no custom code. There's also a batch of new drivers added for both
SoCs and CODECs.
- Added a SoundWire SCDA generic class driver, pulling in a little
regmap work to support it.
- A *lot* of cleaup and API improvement work from Morimoto-san.
- Lots of work on the existing Cirrus, Intel, Maxim and Qualcomm
drivers.
- Support for Allwinner A523, Mediatek MT8189, Qualcomm QCM2290,
QRB2210 and SM6115, SpacemiT K1, and TI TAS2568, TAS5802, TAS5806,
TAS5815, TAS5828 and TAS5830.
This also pulls in some gpiolib changes supporting shared GPIOs in the
core there so we can convert some of the ASoC drivers open coding
handling of that to the core functionality.
If the amp is still reporting FIRMWARE_MISSING after cs35l56_patch()
has completed it is helpful to log a warning.
After a complete firmware download the FIRMWARE_MISSING flag will be
clear. If this isn't the case, the driver should log a message to
report this.
The amp can produce basic audio output without firmware, as a fallback,
so this wasn't originally logged as a warning condition because the amp
is still in an operational state - just not with full functionality.
However, it was not at all obvious to an end user that anything is
unusual.

Currently the sof_sdw machine driver assumes that all devices involved
in the sound card are connected through a DAI link. However for SDCA
devices we still want the HID (Human Interface Device, used for jack
buttons) to be part of the sound card, but it contains no DAI links.
Add support into the machine driver to specify a list of auxiliary
devices to merged into the card.

There have been some complaints around the UCM files for SDCA
devices that the control system is quite hard to follow. This is
definitely true without the specification handy the naming can be
a little cryptic. However, as most of the information is parsed
from DisCo there are some limits to what the driver can safely do
to improve this.
However, one area that can be improved is the non-streaming
input/output terminals. These have a field (enum sdca_terminal_type)
that describes the usage of that terminal. These types can be
appended to the entity name to give the users a better clue as
to the purpose. For example "OT 43", would now become "OT 43
Headphone". This would follow through into the jack controls which
would change from "OT 43 Jack" to "OT 43 Headphone Jack", making the
purpose much more obvious to the user.
This provides slightly more readable controls without relying on
implicit knowledge that individual parts might not conform to.

Currently mute controls will be called "FU xx Mute Switch" (note
the switch is added programmatically outside the coverage of this
patch) and the accompanying volume control would be called "FU xx
Channel Volume". These names are taken from the SDCA specification,
however, this does not mesh well with the ALSA naming system. ALSA
generally expects enables rather than mutes and expects that mutes
and volumes have matching names.
Update the names and invert the mute controls to make them more
standard "FU XX Channel Switch", this does slightly deviate from
the SDCA specification but it makes the rest of the Linux ecosystem
a lot happier.

Merge series from Richard Fitzgerald <rf@opensource.cirrus.com>:
The CAL_SET_STATUS and CAL_DATA_RB controls are volatile and read-only, but
the existing ASoC macros to define controls don't allow setting access
permissions, so those controls were marked as non-volatile read/write.
These four patches fix that.
The first two patches add two new control macros to soc.h. I really don't
like codec drivers open-coding a kcontrol_new content for a control that
will be managed by the ASoC info/get/put handlers. If a new type of ASoC
control definition is needed it's better to have it in soc.h so all the
dependencies between ASoC and the kcontrol_new content are in one place.
Merge series from Charles Keepax <ckeepax@opensource.cirrus.com>:
This series adds an initial SDCA class driver, this consists of a
primary driver attached to the SoundWire device, and auxiliary drivers
representing each of the functions of the SDCA device. These drivers all
use the APIs added over the past series's to provide the class
functionality, as such these final drivers themselves are quite thin.
Also a few fix ups at the start of the series that have gathered up
whilst the last SDCA series was in review.
Add a macro SND_SOC_BYTES_E_ACC() to allow the access permission flags
to be set. This is the same as SND_SOC_BYTES_E() but with an extra
argument for the access flags.
This will be used by the cs35l56.c driver to create a read-only
volatile byte control. It's preferable to avoid custom control macros
in codec drivers. Code maintenance is easier if all control macros are
defined together in soc.h.
This commit only creates this one macro that is actually going to be used.
There's no point cluttering soc.h with unused macros - that just adds a
maintenance burden. People can add equivalents for the other macros if
they need them.
