regmap: rbtree: Fix wrong register marked as in-cache when creating new node
When regcache_rbtree_write() creates a new rbtree_node it was passing the
wrong bit number to regcache_rbtree_set_register(). The bit number is the
offset __in number of registers__, but in the case of creating a new block
regcache_rbtree_write() was not dividing by the address stride to get the
number of registers.
Fix this by dividing by map->reg_stride.
Compare with regcache_rbtree_read() where the bit is checked.
This bug meant that the wrong register was marked as present. The register
that was written to the cache could not be read from the cache because it
was not marked as cached. But a nearby register could be marked as having
a cached value even if it was never written to the cache.

"This pull request is full of clk driver changes. In fact, there aren't
any changes to the clk framework this time around. That's probably
because everyone was on vacation (yours truly included). We did lose a
couple clk drivers this time around because nobody was using those
devices. That skews the diffstat a bit, but either way, nothing looks
out of the ordinary here. The usual suspects are chugging along adding
support for more SoCs and fixing bugs.
If I had to choose, I'd say the theme for the past few months has been
"polish". There's quite a few patches that migrate to
devm_platform_ioremap_resource() in here. And there's more than a
handful of patches that move the NR_CLKS define from the DT binding
header to the driver. There's even patches that migrate drivers to use
clk_parent_data and clk_hw to describe clk tree topology. It seems
that the spring (summer?) cleaning bug got some folks, or the
semiconductor shortage finally hit the software side.

Introduce the crash_hotplug attribute for memory and CPUs for use by
userspace. These attributes directly facilitate the udev rule for
managing userspace re-loading of the crash kernel upon hot un/plug
changes.
For memory, expose the crash_hotplug attribute to the
/sys/devices/system/memory directory. For example:

With these sysfs attributes in place, it is possible to efficiently
instruct the udev rule to skip crash kernel reloading for kernels
configured with crash hotplug support.
For example, the following is the proposed udev rule change for RHEL
system 98-kexec.rules (as the first lines of the rule file):

When examined in the context of 98-kexec.rules, the above rules test if
crash_hotplug is set, and if so, the userspace initiated
unload-then-reload of the crash kernel is skipped.
CPU and memory checks are separated in accordance with CONFIG_HOTPLUG_CPU
and CONFIG_MEMORY_HOTPLUG kernel config options. If an architecture
supports, for example, memory hotplug but not CPU hotplug, then the
/sys/devices/system/memory/crash_hotplug attribute file is present, but
the /sys/devices/system/cpu/crash_hotplug attribute file will NOT be
present. Thus the udev rule skips userspace processing of memory hot
un/plug events, but the udev rule will evaluate false for CPU events, thus
allowing userspace to process CPU hot un/plug events (ie the
unload-then-reload of the kdump capture kernel).

drivers: base: Free devm resources when unregistering a device
In the current code, devres_release_all() only gets called if the device has a bus and has been probed. This leads to issues when using bus-less or driver-less devices where the device might never get freed if a managed resource holds a reference to the device. This is happening in the DRM framework for example. We should thus call devres_release_all() in the device_del() function to make sure that the device-managed actions are properly executed when the device is unregistered, even if it has neither a bus nor a driver. This is effectively the same change than commit |
