[ Upstream commit 545d7827b2 ]

The change eed467b517 ("Bluetooth: fix passkey uninitialized when used")
introduced a goto that bypasses the creation of temporary mackey and ltk
which are later used by the likes of DHKey Check step.

Later ffee202a78 ("Bluetooth: Always request for user confirmation for
Just Works (LE SC)") which means confirm_hint is always set in case
JUST_WORKS so the branch checking for an existing LTK becomes pointless
as confirm_hint will always be set, so this just merge both cases of
malicious or legitimate devices to be confirmed before continuing with the
pairing procedure.

[ Upstream commit 89bb613511 ]

There is a potential race condition between sock bind and socket write
iter. bind may free the same cmd via mgmt_pending before write iter sends
the cmd, just as syzbot reported in UAF[1].

Here we use hci_dev_lock to synchronize the two, thereby avoiding the
UAF mentioned in [1].

[ Upstream commit 98454bc812 ]

disconnect_all_peers() calls sleeping function (l2cap_chan_close) under
spinlock. Holding the lock doesn't actually do any good -- we work on a
local copy of the list, and the lock doesn't protect against peer->chan
having already been freed.

Fix by taking refcounts of peer->chan instead. Clean up the code and
old comments a bit.

Take devices_lock instead of RCU, because the kfree_rcu();
l2cap_chan_put(); construct in chan_close_cb() does not guarantee
peer->chan is necessarily valid in RCU.

Also take l2cap_chan_lock() which is required for l2cap_chan_close().

[ Upstream commit b454505bf5 ]

Bluetooth 6lowpan.c confuses BDADDR_LE and ADDR_LE_DEV address types,
e.g. debugfs "connect" command takes the former, and "disconnect" and
"connect" to already connected device take the latter. This is due to
using same value both for l2cap_chan_connect and hci_conn_hash_lookup_le
which take different dst_type values.

Fix address type passed to hci_conn_hash_lookup_le().

Retain the debugfs API difference between "connect" and "disconnect"
commands since it's been like this since 2015 and nobody apparently
complained.

Ilia GavrilovandGreg Kroah-Hartman 5f7350ff2b Bluetooth: MGMT: Fix OOB access in parse_adv_monitor_pattern()
commit 8d59fba493 upstream.

In the parse_adv_monitor_pattern() function, the value of
the 'length' variable is currently limited to HCI_MAX_EXT_AD_LENGTH(251).
The size of the 'value' array in the mgmt_adv_pattern structure is 31.
If the value of 'pattern[i].length' is set in the user space
and exceeds 31, the 'patterns[i].value' array can be accessed
out of bound when copied.

Increasing the size of the 'value' array in
the 'mgmt_adv_pattern' structure will break the userspace.
Considering this, and to avoid OOB access revert the limits for 'offset'
and 'length' back to the value of HCI_MAX_AD_LENGTH.

[ Upstream commit 5c5f1f6468 ]

In hci_cmd_complete_evt(), if the command complete event has an unknown
opcode, we assume the first byte of the remaining skb->data contains the
return status. However, parameter data has previously been pulled in
hci_event_func(), which may leave the skb empty. If so, using skb->data[0]
for the return status uses un-init memory.

The fix is to check skb->len before using skb->data.

commit 91d35ec9b3 upstream.

The RFCOMM driver confuses the local and remote modem control signals,
which specifically means that the reported DTR and RTS state will
instead reflect the remote end (i.e. DSR and CTS).

This issue dates back to the original driver (and a follow-on update)
merged in 2002, which resulted in a non-standard implementation of
TIOCMSET that allowed controlling also the TS07.10 IC and DV signals by
mapping them to the RI and DCD input flags, while TIOCMGET failed to
return the actual state of DTR and RTS.

Note that the bogus control of input signals in tiocmset() is just
dead code as those flags will have been masked out by the tty layer
since 2003.

[ Upstream commit 79e562a52a ]

The debug UUID was only getting set if MGMT_OP_READ_EXP_FEATURES_INFO

enable the UUID on any index like it was done with iso_sock_uuid.

Kuniyuki IwashimaandGreg Kroah-Hartman 6077d16b5c Bluetooth: Fix use-after-free in l2cap_sock_cleanup_listen()
[ Upstream commit 862c628108 ]

syzbot reported the splat below without a repro.

In the splat, a single thread calling bt_accept_dequeue() freed sk
and touched it after that.

The root cause would be the racy l2cap_sock_cleanup_listen() call
added by the cited commit.

bt_accept_dequeue() is called under lock_sock() except for
l2cap_sock_release().

Two threads could see the same socket during the list iteration
in bt_accept_dequeue():

  CPU1                        CPU2 (close())
  ----                        ----
  sock_hold(sk)               sock_hold(sk);
  lock_sock(sk)   <-- block close()
  sock_put(sk)
  bt_accept_unlink(sk)
    sock_put(sk)  <-- refcnt by bt_accept_enqueue()
  release_sock(sk)
                              lock_sock(sk)
                              sock_put(sk)
                              bt_accept_unlink(sk)
                                sock_put(sk)        <-- last refcnt
                              bt_accept_unlink(sk)  <-- UAF

Depending on the timing, the other thread could show up in the
"Freed by task" part.

Let's call l2cap_sock_cleanup_listen() under lock_sock() in
l2cap_sock_release().

Pavel ShpakovskiyandGreg Kroah-Hartman 4bd2866db0 Bluetooth: hci_sync: fix set_local_name race condition
[ Upstream commit 6bbd0d3f0c ]

Function set_name_sync() uses hdev->dev_name field to send
HCI_OP_WRITE_LOCAL_NAME command, but copying from data to hdev->dev_name
is called after mgmt cmd was queued, so it is possible that function
set_name_sync() will read old name value.

This change adds name as a parameter for function hci_update_name_sync()
to avoid race condition.

[ Upstream commit b7fafbc499 ]

When suspending, the disconnect command for an active Bluetooth
connection could be issued, but the corresponding
`HCI_EV_DISCONN_COMPLETE` event might not be received before the system
completes the suspend process. This can lead to an inconsistent state.

On resume, the controller may auto-accept reconnections from the same
device (due to suspend event filters), but these new connections are
rejected by the kernel which still has connection objects from before
suspend. Resulting in errors like:
```
kernel: Bluetooth: hci0: ACL packet for unknown connection handle 1
kernel: Bluetooth: hci0: Ignoring HCI_Connection_Complete for existing
connection
```

This is a btmon snippet that shows the issue:
```
< HCI Command: Disconnect (0x01|0x0006) plen 3
// Kernel ignores this event because there is an existing connection
By explicitly setting the connection state to BT_CLOSED we can ensure a
consistent state, even if we don't receive the disconnect complete event
in time.
Currently, the hci_cs_disconnect function treats any non-zero status
as a command failure. This can be misleading because the connection is
indeed being terminated and the controller is confirming that is has no
knowledge of that connection handle. Meaning that the initial request of
disconnecting a device should be treated as done.
With this change we allow the function to proceed, following the success
path, which correctly calls `mgmt_device_disconnected` and ensures a
consistent state.
BN == 0x00 in CIS Established means no isochronous data for the
However, the specification does not say the Max_PDU_C_To_P or P_To_C are
Chris DownandGreg Kroah-Hartman 9d5aecb57e Bluetooth: hci_event: Mask data status from LE ext adv reports
[ Upstream commit 0cadf8534f ]
The Event_Type field in an LE Extended Advertising Report uses bits 5
and 6 for data status (e.g. truncation or fragmentation), not the PDU
type itself.
The ext_evt_type_to_legacy() function fails to mask these status bits
before evaluation. This causes valid advertisements with status bits set
(e.g. a truncated non-connectable advertisement, which ends up showing
as PDU type 0x40) to be misclassified as unknown and subsequently
dropped. This is okay for most checks which use bitwise AND on the
relevant event type bits, but it doesn't work for non-connectable types,
which are checked with '== LE_EXT_ADV_NON_CONN_IND' (that is, zero).
In terms of behaviour, first the device sends a truncated report:
> HCI Event: LE Meta Event (0x3e) plen 26
      LE Extended Advertising Report (0x0d)
        Entry 0
          Event type: 0x0040
            Data status: Incomplete, data truncated, no more to come
          Address type: Random (0x01)
          Address: 1D:12:46:FA:F8:6E (Non-Resolvable)
          SID: 0x03
          RSSI: -98 dBm (0x9e)
          Data length: 0x00
Then, a few seconds later, it sends the subsequent complete report:
> HCI Event: LE Meta Event (0x3e) plen 122
      LE Extended Advertising Report (0x0d)
        Entry 0
          Event type: 0x0000
            Data status: Complete
          Address type: Random (0x01)
          Address: 1D:12:46:FA:F8:6E (Non-Resolvable)
          SID: 0x03
          RSSI: -97 dBm (0x9f)
          Data length: 0x60
          Service Data: Google (0xfef3)
            Data[92]: ...
These devices often send multiple truncated reports per second.
This patch introduces a PDU type mask to ensure only the relevant bits
are evaluated, allowing for the correct translation of all valid
extended advertising packets.
[ Upstream commit d85edab911 ]
Currently, the connectable flag used by the setup of an extended
advertising instance drives whether we require privacy when trying to pass
a random address to the advertising parameters (Own Address).
If privacy is not required, then it automatically falls back to using the
controller's public address. This can cause problems when using controllers
that do not have a public address set, but instead use a static random
address.
e.g. Assume a BLE controller that does not have a public address set.
The controller upon powering is set with a random static address by default
by the kernel.
	< HCI Command: LE Set Random Address (0x08|0x0005) plen 6
        	Address: E4:AF:26:D8:3E:3A (Static)
	> HCI Event: Command Complete (0x0e) plen 4
	        Status: Success (0x00)
Setting non-connectable extended advertisement parameters in bluetoothctl
mgmt
	add-ext-adv-params -r 0x801 -x 0x802 -P 2M -g 1
correctly sets Own address type as Random
	< HCI Command: LE Set Extended Advertising Parameters (0x08|0x0036)
	plen 25
		...
	    Own address type: Random (0x01)
Setting connectable extended advertisement parameters in bluetoothctl mgmt
	add-ext-adv-params -r 0x801 -x 0x802 -P 2M -g -c 1
mistakenly sets Own address type to Public (which causes to use Public
Address 00:00:00:00:00:00)
	< HCI Command: LE Set Extended Advertising Parameters (0x08|0x0036)
	plen 25
		...
	    Own address type: Public (0x00)
This causes either the controller to emit an Invalid Parameters error or to
mishandle the advertising.
This patch makes sure that we use the already set static random address
when requesting a connectable extended advertising when we don't require
privacy and our public address is not set (00:00:00:00:00:00).
Kuniyuki IwashimaandGreg Kroah-Hartman bc0819a25e Bluetooth: hci_core: Fix use-after-free in vhci_flush()
[ Upstream commit 1d6123102e ]
syzbot reported use-after-free in vhci_flush() without repro. [0]
From the splat, a thread close()d a vhci file descriptor while
its device was being used by iotcl() on another thread.
Once the last fd refcnt is released, vhci_release() calls
hci_unregister_dev(), hci_free_dev(), and kfree() for struct
vhci_data, which is set to hci_dev->dev->driver_data.
The problem is that there is no synchronisation after unlinking
hdev from hci_dev_list in hci_unregister_dev().  There might be
another thread still accessing the hdev which was fetched before
the unlink operation.
We can use SRCU for such synchronisation.
Let's run hci_dev_reset() under SRCU and wait for its completion
in hci_unregister_dev().
Another option would be to restore hci_dev->destruct(), which was
removed in commit 587ae086f6 ("Bluetooth: Remove unused
hci-destruct cb").  However, this would not be a good solution, as
we should not run hci_unregister_dev() while there are in-flight
ioctl() requests, which could lead to another data-race KCSAN splat.
Note that other drivers seem to have the same problem, for exmaple,
virtbt_remove().
Christian EggersandGreg Kroah-Hartman 0506547f6e Bluetooth: MGMT: mesh_send: check instances prior disabling advertising
commit f3cb5676e5 upstream.
The unconditional call of hci_disable_advertising_sync() in
mesh_send_done_sync() also disables other LE advertisings (non mesh
related).
I am not sure whether this call is required at all, but checking the
adv_instances list (like done at other places) seems to solve the
problem.
The MTUs are negotiated for each direction. In this traces 32767 for
iPhone->localhost and no MTU for localhost->iPhone, which based on
'4.4 L2CAP_CONFIGURATION_REQ' (Core specification v5.4, Vol. 3, Part
A):
  The only parameters that should be included in the
  L2CAP_CONFIGURATION_REQ packet are those that require different
  values than the default or previously agreed values.
  ...
  Any missing configuration parameters are assumed to have their
  most recently explicitly or implicitly accepted values.
and '5.1 Maximum transmission unit (MTU)':
  If the remote device sends a positive L2CAP_CONFIGURATION_RSP
  packet it should include the actual MTU to be used on this channel
  for traffic flowing into the local device.
  ...
  The default value is 672 octets.
is set by BlueZ to 672 bytes.
It seems that the iPhone used the lowest negotiated value to transfer
data to the localhost instead of the negotiated one for the incoming
direction.
This could be fixed by using the MTU negotiated for the other
direction, if exists, in the L2CAP_CONFIGURATION_RSP.
This allows to use segmented packets as in the following traces:
[ Upstream commit 5725bc6082 ]
When using and existing adv_info instance for broadcast source it
needs to be updated to periodic first before it can be reused, also in
case the existing instance already have data hci_set_adv_instance_data
cannot be used directly since it would overwrite the existing data so
this reappend the original data after the Broadcast ID, if one was
generated.
