Ido SchimmelandGreg Kroah-Hartman d2f275112c net: sched: Fix truncation of offloaded action statistics
[ Upstream commit 811b8f534f ]

In case of tc offload, when user space queries the kernel for tc action
statistics, tc will query the offloaded statistics from device drivers.
Among other statistics, drivers are expected to pass the number of
packets that hit the action since the last query as a 64-bit number.

Unfortunately, tc treats the number of packets as a 32-bit number,
leading to truncation and incorrect statistics when the number of
packets since the last query exceeds 0xffffffff:

$ tc -s filter show dev swp2 ingress
filter protocol all pref 1 flower chain 0
filter protocol all pref 1 flower chain 0 handle 0x1
  skip_sw
  in_hw in_hw_count 1
action order 1: mirred (Egress Redirect to device swp1) stolen
        index 1 ref 1 bind 1 installed 58 sec used 0 sec
        Action statistics:
        Sent 1133877034176 bytes 536959475 pkt (dropped 0, overlimits 0 requeues 0)
[...]

According to the above, 2111-byte packets were redirected which is
impossible as only 64-byte packets were transmitted and the MTU was
1500.

Fix by treating packets as a 64-bit number:

$ tc -s filter show dev swp2 ingress
filter protocol all pref 1 flower chain 0
filter protocol all pref 1 flower chain 0 handle 0x1
  skip_sw
  in_hw in_hw_count 1
action order 1: mirred (Egress Redirect to device swp1) stolen
        index 1 ref 1 bind 1 installed 61 sec used 0 sec
        Action statistics:
        Sent 1370624380864 bytes 21416005951 pkt (dropped 0, overlimits 0 requeues 0)
[...]

Which shows that only 64-byte packets were redirected (1370624380864 /
21416005951 = 64).

Alexandre CassenandGreg Kroah-Hartman c6e1b2cac2 xfrm: delete intermediate secpath entry in packet offload mode
[ Upstream commit 600258d555 ]

Packets handled by hardware have added secpath as a way to inform XFRM
core code that this path was already handled. That secpath is not needed
at all after policy is checked and it is removed later in the stack.

However, in the case of IP forwarding is enabled (/proc/sys/net/ipv4/ip_forward),
that secpath is not removed and packets which already were handled are reentered
to the driver TX path with xfrm_offload set.

The following kernel panic is observed in mlx5 in such case:

Pablo Neira AyusoandGreg Kroah-Hartman d9aaae892d netfilter: nf_tables: fix set size with rbtree backend
[ Upstream commit 8d738c1869 ]

The existing rbtree implementation uses singleton elements to represent
ranges, however, userspace provides a set size according to the number
of ranges in the set.

Adjust provided userspace set size to the number of singleton elements
in the kernel by multiplying the range by two.

Check if the no-match all-zero element is already in the set, in such
case release one slot in the set size.

Eric DumazetandGreg Kroah-Hartman 1e222169f7 net: add exit_batch_rtnl() method
[ Upstream commit fd4f101edb ]

Many (struct pernet_operations)->exit_batch() methods have
to acquire rtnl.

In presence of rtnl mutex pressure, this makes cleanup_net()
very slow.

This patch adds a new exit_batch_rtnl() method to reduce
number of rtnl acquisitions from cleanup_net().

exit_batch_rtnl() handlers are called while rtnl is locked,

[ Upstream commit 3479c7549f ]

If the backlog of listen() is set to zero, sk_acceptq_is_full() allows
one connection to be made, but inet_csk_reqsk_queue_is_full() does not.
When the net.ipv4.tcp_syncookies is zero, inet_csk_reqsk_queue_is_full()
will cause an immediate drop before the sk_acceptq_is_full() check in
tcp_conn_request(), resulting in no connection can be made.

This patch tries to keep consistent with 64a146513f ("[NET]: Revert
incorrect accept queue backlog changes.").

The voice setting is used by sco_connect() or sco_conn_defer_accept()

This commits add support for mSBC 16 bits offloading, i.e. audio data
not transported over HCI.

The BCM4349B1 supports 16 bits transparent data on its I2S port.
If BT_VOICE_TRANSPARENT is used when accepting a SCO connection, this
gives only garbage audio while using BT_VOICE_TRANSPARENT_16BIT gives
correct audio.

[ Upstream commit fa224d0c09 ]

For ISO Broadcast, all BISes from a BIG have the same lifespan - they
cannot be created or terminated independently from each other.

This links together all BIS hcons that are part of the same BIG, so all
hcons are kept alive as long as the BIG is active.

If multiple BIS sockets are opened for a BIG handle, and only part of
them are closed at some point, the associated hcons will be marked as
open. If new sockets will later be opened for the same BIG, they will
be reassociated with the open BIS hcons.

All BIS hcons will be cleaned up and the BIG will be terminated when
the last BIS socket is closed from userspace.

Florian WestphalandGreg Kroah-Hartman 27f0574253 netfilter: nf_tables: do not defer rule destruction via call_rcu
[ Upstream commit b04df3da1b ]

nf_tables_chain_destroy can sleep, it can't be used from call_rcu
callbacks.

Moreover, nf_tables_rule_release() is only safe for error unwinding,
while transaction mutex is held and the to-be-desroyed rule was not
exposed to either dataplane or dumps, as it deactives+frees without
the required synchronize_rcu() in-between.

nft_rule_expr_deactivate() callbacks will change ->use counters
of other chains/sets, see e.g. nft_lookup .deactivate callback, these
must be serialized via transaction mutex.

Also add a few lockdep asserts to make this more explicit.

Calling synchronize_rcu() isn't ideal, but fixing this without is hard
and way more intrusive. As-is, we can get:

WARNING: .. net/netfilter/nf_tables_api.c:5515 nft_set_destroy+0x..

In case the synchronize_rcu becomes an issue, we can explore alternatives.

One way would be to allocate nft_trans_rule objects + one nft_trans_chain
object, deactivate the rules + the chain and then defer the freeing to the
nft destroy workqueue. We'd still need to keep the synchronize_rcu path as
a fallback to handle -ENOMEM corner cases though.

Eric DumazetandGreg Kroah-Hartman b7a79e5129 net: defer final 'struct net' free in netns dismantle
[ Upstream commit 0f6ede9fbc ]

Ilya reported a slab-use-after-free in dst_destroy [1]

Issue is in xfrm6_net_init() and xfrm4_net_init() :

They copy xfrm[46]_dst_ops_template into net->xfrm.xfrm[46]_dst_ops.

But net structure might be freed before all the dst callbacks are
called. So when dst_destroy() calls later :

if (dst->ops->destroy)
    dst->ops->destroy(dst);

dst->ops points to the old net->xfrm.xfrm[46]_dst_ops, which has been freed.

See a relevant issue fixed in :

ac888d5886 ("net: do not delay dst_entries_add() in dst_release()")

A fix is to queue the 'struct net' to be freed after one
another cleanup_net() round (and existing rcu_barrier())

Pablo Neira AyusoandGreg Kroah-Hartman 53c7314208 netfilter: nft_inner: incorrect percpu area handling under softirq
[ Upstream commit 7b1d83da25 ]

Softirq can interrupt ongoing packet from process context that is
walking over the percpu area that contains inner header offsets.

Disable bh and perform three checks before restoring the percpu inner
header offsets to validate that the percpu area is valid for this
skbuff:

1) If the NFT_PKTINFO_INNER_FULL flag is set on, then this skbuff
has already been parsed before for inner header fetching to
   register.

2) Validate that the percpu area refers to this skbuff using the
skbuff pointer as a cookie. If there is a cookie mismatch, then
this skbuff needs to be parsed again.

3) Finally, validate if the percpu area refers to this tunnel type.

Only after these three checks the percpu area is restored to a on-stack
copy and bh is enabled again.

After inner header fetching, the on-stack copy is stored back to the
percpu area.

Wen GuandGreg Kroah-Hartman fe7ef3a10c net/smc: add operations to merge sndbuf with peer DMB
[ Upstream commit 4398888268 ]

In some scenarios using Emulated-ISM device, sndbuf can share the same
physical memory region with peer DMB to avoid data copy from one side
to the other. In such case the sndbuf is only a descriptor that
describes the shared memory and does not actually occupy memory, it's
more like a ghost buffer.

      +----------+ +----------+
      | socket A | | socket B |
      +----------+ +----------+
            | |
       +--------+ +--------+
       | sndbuf | | DMB |
       | desc | | desc |
       +--------+ +--------+
            | |
            | +----v-----+
            +-------------------------->  memory  |
                                       +----------+

So here introduces three new SMC-D device operations to check if this
feature is supported by device, and to {attach|detach} ghost sndbuf to
peer DMB. For now only loopback-ism supports this.

Masahiro YamadaandGreg Kroah-Hartman 0dd7a8b948 Rename .data.once to .data..once to fix resetting WARN*_ONCE
[ Upstream commit dbefa1f31a ]

Commit b1fca27d38 ("kernel debug: support resetting WARN*_ONCE")
added support for clearing the state of once warnings. However,
it is not functional when CONFIG_LD_DEAD_CODE_DATA_ELIMINATION or
CONFIG_LTO_CLANG is enabled, because .data.once matches the
.data.[0-9a-zA-Z_]* pattern in the DATA_MAIN macro.

Commit cb87481ee8 ("kbuild: linker script do not match C names unless
LD_DEAD_CODE_DATA_ELIMINATION is configured") was introduced to suppress
the issue for the default CONFIG_LD_DEAD_CODE_DATA_ELIMINATION=n case,
providing a minimal fix for stable backporting. We were aware this did
not address the issue for CONFIG_LD_DEAD_CODE_DATA_ELIMINATION=y. The
plan was to apply correct fixes and then revert cb87481ee8. [1]

Seven years have passed since then, yet the #ifdef workaround remains in
place. Meanwhile, commit b1fca27d38 introduced the .data.once section,
and commit dc5723b02e ("kbuild: add support for Clang LTO") extended
the #ifdef.

Using a ".." separator in the section name fixes the issue for
CONFIG_LD_DEAD_CODE_DATA_ELIMINATION and CONFIG_LTO_CLANG.

Gustavo A. R. SilvaandGreg Kroah-Hartman 28f152fc95 wifi: radiotap: Avoid -Wflex-array-member-not-at-end warnings
[ Upstream commit 57be3d3562 ]

-Wflex-array-member-not-at-end was introduced in GCC-14, and we are
getting ready to enable it, globally.

So, in order to avoid ending up with a flexible-array member in the
middle of multiple other structs, we use the `__struct_group()`
helper to create a new tagged `struct ieee80211_radiotap_header_fixed`.
This structure groups together all the members of the flexible
`struct ieee80211_radiotap_header` except the flexible array.

As a result, the array is effectively separated from the rest of the
members without modifying the memory layout of the flexible structure.
We then change the type of the middle struct members currently causing
trouble from `struct ieee80211_radiotap_header` to `struct
ieee80211_radiotap_header_fixed`.

We also want to ensure that in case new members need to be added to the
flexible structure, they are always included within the newly created
tagged struct. For this, we use `static_assert()`. This ensures that the
memory layout for both the flexible structure and the new tagged struct
is the same after any changes.

This approach avoids having to implement `struct ieee80211_radiotap_header_fixed`
as a completely separate structure, thus preventing having to maintain
two independent but basically identical structures, closing the door
to potential bugs in the future.

So, with these changes, fix the following warnings:

Hangbin LiuandGreg Kroah-Hartman 9ea6b70fec bonding: add ns target multicast address to slave device
[ Upstream commit 8eb36164d1 ]

Commit 4598380f9c ("bonding: fix ns validation on backup slaves")
tried to resolve the issue where backup slaves couldn't be brought up when
receiving IPv6 Neighbor Solicitation (NS) messages. However, this fix only
worked for drivers that receive all multicast messages, such as the veth
interface.

For standard drivers, the NS multicast message is silently dropped because
the slave device is not a member of the NS target multicast group.

To address this, we need to make the slave device join the NS target
multicast group, ensuring it can receive these IPv6 NS messages to validate
the slave’s status properly.

There are three policies before joining the multicast group:
1. All settings must be under active-backup mode (alb and tlb do not support
arp_validate), with backup slaves and slaves supporting multicast.
2. We can add or remove multicast groups when arp_validate changes.
3. Other operations, such as enslaving, releasing, or setting NS targets,
need to be guarded by arp_validate.

Pablo Neira AyusoandGreg Kroah-Hartman bfd05c68e4 netfilter: nf_tables: wait for rcu grace period on net_device removal
[ Upstream commit c03d278fdf ]

8c873e2199 ("netfilter: core: free hooks with call_rcu") removed
synchronize_net() call when unregistering basechain hook, however,
net_device removal event handler for the NFPROTO_NETDEV was not updated
to wait for RCU grace period.

Note that 835b803377 ("netfilter: nf_tables_netdev: unregister hooks
on net_device removal") does not remove basechain rules on device
removal, I was hinted to remove rules on net_device removal later, see
5ebe0b0eec ("netfilter: nf_tables: destroy basechain and rules on
netdevice removal").

Although NETDEV_UNREGISTER event is guaranteed to be handled after
synchronize_net() call, this path needs to wait for rcu grace period via
rcu callback to release basechain hooks if netns is alive because an
ongoing netlink dump could be in progress (sockets hold a reference on
the netns).

Note that nf_tables_pre_exit_net() unregisters and releases basechain
hooks but it is possible to see NETDEV_UNREGISTER at a later stage in
the netns exit path, eg. veth peer device in another netns:

 cleanup_net()
  default_device_exit_batch()
   unregister_netdevice_many_notify()
    notifier_call_chain()
     nf_tables_netdev_event()
      __nft_release_basechain()

In this particular case, same rule of thumb applies: if netns is alive,
then wait for rcu grace period because netlink dump in the other netns
could be in progress. Otherwise, if the other netns is going away then
no netlink dump can be in progress and basechain hooks can be released
inmediately.

While at it, turn WARN_ON() into WARN_ON_ONCE() for the basechain
validation, which should not ever happen.

Instead of letting all callers guard genlmsg_multicast_allns()

This also means the @flags parameter is useless, we need to always use

Kuniyuki IwashimaandGreg Kroah-Hartman f4df31a051 mctp: Handle error of rtnl_register_module().
[ Upstream commit d51705614f ]

Since introduced, mctp has been ignoring the returned value of
rtnl_register_module(), which could fail silently.

Handling the error allows users to view a module as an all-or-nothing
thing in terms of the rtnetlink functionality. This prevents syzkaller
from reporting spurious errors from its tests, where OOM often occurs
and module is automatically loaded.

Let's handle the errors by rtnl_register_many().

Kuniyuki IwashimaandGreg Kroah-Hartman 35b72beac9 rtnetlink: Add bulk registration helpers for rtnetlink message handlers.
[ Upstream commit 07cc7b0b94 ]

Before commit addf9b90de ("net: rtnetlink: use rcu to free rtnl message
handlers"), once rtnl_msg_handlers[protocol] was allocated, the following
rtnl_register_module() for the same protocol never failed.

However, after the commit, rtnl_msg_handler[protocol][msgtype] needs to
be allocated in each rtnl_register_module(), so each call could fail.

Many callers of rtnl_register_module() do not handle the returned error,
and we need to add many error handlings.

To handle that easily, let's add wrapper functions for bulk registration
of rtnetlink message handlers.

Eric DumazetandGreg Kroah-Hartman 1edf039ee0 net/sched: accept TCA_STAB only for root qdisc
[ Upstream commit 3cb7cf1540 ]

Most qdiscs maintain their backlog using qdisc_pkt_len(skb)
on the assumption it is invariant between the enqueue()
and dequeue() handlers.

Unfortunately syzbot can crash a host rather easily using
a TBF + SFQ combination, with an STAB on SFQ [1]

We can't support TCA_STAB on arbitrary level, this would
require to maintain per-qdisc storage.

Haiyang ZhangandGreg Kroah-Hartman 6c95c700f2 net: mana: Add support for page sizes other than 4KB on ARM64
[ Upstream commit 382d1741b5 ]

As defined by the MANA Hardware spec, the queue size for DMA is 4KB
minimal, and power of 2. And, the HWC queue size has to be exactly
4KB.

To support page sizes other than 4KB on ARM64, define the minimal
queue size as a macro separately from the PAGE_SIZE, which we always
assumed it to be 4KB before supporting ARM64.

Also, add MANA specific macros and update code related to size
alignment, DMA region calculations, etc.

Eric DumazetandGreg Kroah-Hartman 662ec52260 icmp: change the order of rate limits
commit 8c2bd38b95 upstream.

ICMP messages are ratelimited :

After the blamed commits, the two rate limiters are applied in this order:

1) host wide ratelimit (icmp_global_allow())

2) Per destination ratelimit (inetpeer based)

In order to avoid side-channels attacks, we need to apply
the per destination check first.

This patch makes the following change :

1) icmp_global_allow() checks if the host wide limit is reached.
But credits are not yet consumed. This is deferred to 3)

2) The per destination limit is checked/updated.
This might add a new node in inetpeer tree.

3) icmp_global_consume() consumes tokens if prior operations succeeded.

This means that host wide ratelimit is still effective
in keeping inetpeer tree small even under DDOS.

As a bonus, I removed icmp_global.lock as the fast path
can use a lock-free operation.

tcp_rearm_rto(). Initially hitting it from the TLP path, but then later we also
saw it getting hit from the RACK case as well. Here are examples of the oops

The NULL ptr deref is coming from tcp_rto_delta_us() attempting to pull an skb
off the head of the retransmit queue and then dereferencing that skb to get the
skb_mstamp_ns value via tcp_skb_timestamp_us(skb).

The crash is the same one that was reported a # of years ago here:
https://lore.kernel.org/netdev/86c0f836-9a7c-438b-d81a-839be45f1f58@gmail.com/T/#t

and the kernel we're running has the fix which was added to resolve this issue.

Unfortunately we've been unsuccessful so far in reproducing this problem in the
lab and do not have the luxury of pushing out a new kernel to try and test if
newer kernels resolve this issue at the moment. I realize this is a report
against both an Ubuntu kernel and also an older 5.4 kernel. I have reported this
issue to Ubuntu here: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/2077657
however I feel like since this issue has possibly cropped up again it makes
sense to build in some protection in this path (even on the latest kernel
versions) since the code in question just blindly assumes there's a valid skb
without testing if it's NULL b/f it looks at the timestamp.

Given we have seen crashes in this path before and now this case it seems like
we should protect ourselves for when packets_out accounting is incorrect.
While we should fix that root cause we should also just make sure the skb
is not NULL before dereferencing it. Also add a warn once here to capture
some information if/when the problem case is hit again.

Ping-Ke ShihandGreg Kroah-Hartman d54455a3a9 wifi: mac80211: don't use rate mask for offchannel TX either
[ Upstream commit e7a7ef9a07 ]

Like the commit ab9177d83c ("wifi: mac80211: don't use rate mask for
scanning"), ignore incorrect settings to avoid no supported rate warning
reported by syzbot.

The syzbot did bisect and found cause is commit 9df66d5b9f ("cfg80211:
fix default HE tx bitrate mask in 2G band"), which however corrects
bitmask of HE MCS and recognizes correctly settings of empty legacy rate
plus HE MCS rate instead of returning -EINVAL.

As suggestions [1], follow the change of SCAN TX to consider this case of
offchannel TX as well.
