Vicki Pfau 36fd8f1c73 HID: hid-steam: Don't use cancel_delayed_work_sync in IRQ context
[ Upstream commit b051ffa2ae ]

Lockdep reported that, as steam_do_deck_input_event is called from
steam_raw_event inside of an IRQ context, it can lead to issues if that IRQ
occurs while the work to be cancelled is running. By using cancel_delayed_work,
this issue can be avoided. The exact ordering of the work and the event
processing is not super important, so this is safe.

Tulio Fernandes cdd9a1ea23 HID: hid-thrustmaster: fix stack-out-of-bounds read in usb_check_int_endpoints()
[ Upstream commit 0b43d98ff2 ]

Syzbot[1] has detected a stack-out-of-bounds read of the ep_addr array from
hid-thrustmaster driver. This array is passed to usb_check_int_endpoints
function from usb.c core driver, which executes a for loop that iterates
over the elements of the passed array. Not finding a null element at the end of
the array, it tries to read the next, non-existent element, crashing the kernel.

To fix this, a 0 element was added at the end of the array to break the for
loop.

Heiko Stuebner 416d22fe8c HID: hid-sensor-hub: don't use stale platform-data on remove
commit 8a5b38c3fd upstream.

The hid-sensor-hub creates the individual device structs and transfers them
to the created mfd platform-devices via the platform_data in the mfd_cell.

Before e651a1da44 ("HID: hid-sensor-hub: Allow parallel synchronous reads")
the sensor-hub was managing access centrally, with one "completion" in the
hub's data structure, which needed to be finished on removal at the latest.

The mentioned commit then moved this central management to each hid sensor
device, resulting on a completion in each struct hid_sensor_hub_device.
The remove procedure was adapted to go through all sensor devices and
finish any pending "completion".

What this didn't take into account was, platform_device_add_data() that is
used by mfd_add{_hotplug}_devices() does a kmemdup on the submitted
platform-data. So the data the platform-device gets is a copy of the
original data, meaning that the device worked on a different completion
than what sensor_hub_remove() currently wants to access.

To fix that, use device_for_each_child() to go through each child-device
similar to how mfd_remove_devices() unregisters the devices later and
with that get the live platform_data to finalize the correct completion.

This patch addresses only the ProArt series so far and it is unknown if
there may be others, in which case a new quirk may be required.

Alan Stern ebaeca33d3 HID: core: Fix assumption that Resolution Multipliers must be in Logical Collections
commit 64f2657b57 upstream.

A report in 2019 by the syzbot fuzzer was found to be connected to two
errors in the HID core associated with Resolution Multipliers. One of
the errors was fixed by commit ea427a222d ("HID: core: Fix deadloop
in hid_apply_multiplier."), but the other has not been fixed.

This error arises because hid_apply_multipler() assumes that every
Resolution Multiplier control is contained in a Logical Collection,
i.e., there's no way the routine can ever set multiplier_collection to
NULL. This is in spite of the fact that the function starts with a
big comment saying:

	 * "The Resolution Multiplier control must be contained in the same
	 * Logical Collection as the control(s) to which it is to be applied.
	   ...
	 * If no Logical Collection is
	 * defined, the Resolution Multiplier is associated with all
	 * controls in the report."
	 * HID Usage Table, v1.12, Section 4.3.1, p30
	 *
	 * Thus, search from the current collection upwards until we find a
	 * logical collection...

The comment and the code overlook the possibility that none of the
collections found may be a Logical Collection.

The fix is to set the multiplier_collection pointer to NULL if the
collection found isn't a Logical Collection.

Jason Gerecke 5f5e6cbc4f HID: wacom: Initialize brightness of LED trigger
commit 88006b8eca upstream.

If an LED has a default_trigger set prior to being registered with
the subsystem, that trigger will be executed with a brightness value
defined by `trigger->brightness`. Our driver was not setting this
value, which was causing problems. It would cause the selected LED
to be turned off, as well as corrupt the hlv/llv values assigned to
other LEDs (since calling `wacom_led_brightness_set` will overite
these values).

This patch sets the value of `trigger->brightness` to an appropriate
value. We use `wacom_leds_brightness_get` to transform the llv/hlv
values into a brightness that is understood by the rest of the LED
subsystem.

Jiri Kosina 276df5deb8 Revert "HID: multitouch: Add support for lenovo Y9000P Touchpad"
commit 3d88ba86ba upstream.

This reverts commit 251efae73b.

Quoting Wang Yuli:

"The 27C6:01E0 touchpad doesn't require the workaround and applying it
	would actually break functionality.

The initial report came from a BBS forum, but we suspect the
information provided by the forum user may be incorrect which could
	happen sometimes. [1]

Further investigation showed that the Lenovo Y9000P 2024 doesn't even
	use a Goodix touchpad. [2]

For the broader issue of 27c6:01e0 being unusable on some devices, it
just need to address it with a libinput quirk.

In conclusion, we should revert this commit, which is the best
	solution."

Kenny Levinsen 0c08f4a601 HID: i2c-hid: Revert to using power commands to wake on resume
commit 34851431ce upstream.

commit 7d6f065de3 ("HID: i2c-hid: Use address probe to wake on resume")
replaced the retry of power commands with the dummy read "bus probe" we
use on boot which accounts for a necessary delay before retry.

This made at least one Weida device (2575:0910 in an ASUS Vivobook S14)
very unhappy, as the bus probe despite being successful somehow lead to
the following power command failing so hard that the device never lets
go of the bus. This means that even retries of the power command would
fail on a timeout as the bus remains busy.

Remove the bus probe on resume and instead reintroduce retry of the
power command for wake-up purposes while respecting the newly
established wake-up retry timings.

commit 49a397ad24 upstream.

The tilt data contained in the Bluetooth packets of an Intuos Pro are
supposed to be interpreted as signed values. Simply casting the values
to type `char` is not guaranteed to work since it is implementation-
defined whether it is signed or unsigned. At least one user has noticed
the data being reported incorrectly on their system. To ensure that the
data is interpreted properly, we specifically cast to `signed char`
instead.

And the issue seems to be that the corresponding devres group is not
allocated. Normally, devres_open_group() is called from
__hid_device_probe() but Hyper-V HID driver overrides 'hid_dev->driver'
with 'mousevsc_hid_driver' stub and basically re-implements
__hid_device_probe() by calling hid_parse() and hid_hw_start() but not
devres_open_group(). hid_device_probe() does not call __hid_device_probe()
for it. Later, when the driver is removed, hid_device_remove() calls
devres_release_group() as it doesn't check whether hdev->driver was
initially overridden or not.

The issue seems to be related to the commit 62c68e7cee ("HID: ensure
timely release of driver-allocated resources") but the commit itself seems
to be correct.

Fix the issue by dropping the 'hid_dev->driver' override and using
hid_register_driver()/hid_unregister_driver() instead. Alternatively, it
would have been possible to rely on the default handling but
HID_CONNECT_DEFAULT implies HID_CONNECT_HIDRAW and it doesn't seem to work
for mousevsc as-is.

Patch for Goodix 27c6:0d42 touchpads found in Inspiron 5515 laptops.

After resume from suspend, one can communicate with this device just fine.
We can read data from it or request a reset,
but for some reason the interrupt line will not go up
when new events are available.
(it can correctly respond to a reset with an interrupt tho)

The only way I found to wake this device up
is to send anything to it after ~1.5s mark,
for example a simple read request, or power mode change.

In this patch, I simply delay the resume steps with msleep,
this will cause the set_power request to happen after
the ~1.5s barrier causing the device to resume its event interrupts.

Sleep was used rather than delayed_work
to make this workaround as non-invasive as possible.

from the bpf_struct_ops's cfi_stubs"), a HID-BPF struct_ops containing
a .hid_hw_request() or a .hid_hw_output_report() was failing to load
as the cfi stubs were not defined.

Fix that by defining those simple static functions and restore HID-BPF
functionality.

This was detected with the HID selftests suddenly failing on Linus' tree.

Al Viro cb787f4ac0 [tree-wide] finally take no_llseek out
no_llseek had been defined to NULL two years ago, in commit 868941b144
("fs: remove no_llseek")

To quote that commit,

  At -rc1 we'll need do a mechanical removal of no_llseek -

  git grep -l -w no_llseek | grep -v porting.rst | while read i; do
	sed -i '/\<no_llseek\>/d' $i
  done

  would do it.

Unfortunately, that hadn't been done. Linus, could you do that now, so
that we could finally put that thing to rest? All instances are of the
form
	.llseek = no_llseek,
so it's obviously safe.

Pull HID updates from Jiri Kosina:

 - New HID over SPI driver for Goodix devices that don't follow
Microsoft's HID-over-SPI specification, so a separate driver is
needed. Currently supported device is GT7986U touchscreen (Charles
   Wang)

 - support for new hardware features in Wacom driver (high-res wheel
scrolling, touchstrings with relative motions, support for two
   touchrings) (Jason Gerecke)

 - support for customized vendor firmware loading in intel-ish driver
   (Zhang Lixu)

 - fix for theoretical race condition in i2c-hid (Dmitry Torokhov)

 - support for HIDIOCREVOKE -- evdev's EVIOCREVOKE equivalent in hidraw
   (Peter Hutterer)

 - initial hidraw selftest implementation (Benjamin Tissoires)

 - constification of device-specific report descriptors (Thomas
   Weißschuh)

 - other small assorted fixes and device ID / quirk additions
