Cristian CiocalteaandGreg Kroah-Hartman f623c04f7a ASoC: SOF: amd: Handle IPC replies before FW_BOOT_COMPLETE

In some cases, e.g. during resuming from suspend, there is a possibility
that some IPC reply messages get received by the host while the DSP
firmware has not yet reached the complete boot state.

Detect when this happens and do not attempt to process the unexpected
replies from DSP.  Instead, provide proper debugging support.

Add softdep to loading HDMI codec module first to ensure we can load it
correctly.

Peter UjfalusiandGreg Kroah-Hartman f69d2cd846 ASoC: SOF: pcm: Clear the susbstream pointer to NULL on close
commit 46c7b901e2 upstream.

The spcm->stream[substream->stream].substream is set during open and was
left untouched. After the first PCM stream it will never be NULL and we
have code which checks for substream NULLity as indication if the stream is
active or not.
For the compressed cstream pointer the same has been done, this change will
correct the handling of PCM streams.

The nullity of sps->cstream should be checked similarly as it is done in
sof_set_stream_data_offset() function.
Assuming that it is not NULL if sps->stream is NULL is incorrect and can
lead to NULL pointer dereference.

Bard LiaoandGreg Kroah-Hartman 77e01dfb4f ASoC: SOF: ipc3-topology: Convert the topology pin index to ALH dai index

Intel SoundWire machine driver always uses Pin number 2 and above.
Currently, the pin number is used as the FW DAI index directly. As a
result, FW DAI 0 and 1 are never used. That worked fine because we use
up to 2 DAIs in a SDW link. Convert the topology pin index to ALH dai
index, the mapping is using 2-off indexing, iow, pin #2 is ALH dai #0.

The issue exists since beginning. And the Fixes tag is the first commit
that this commit can be applied.

Write the size of the optional payload of SOF_IPC4_MOD_INIT_INSTANCE
message to extension param_size-bits.

The previous IPC4 version does not set these bits that should indicate
the size of the optional payload (struct sof_ipc4_probe_cfg). The old
firmware side component code works well without these bits, but when
the probes are converted to use the generic module API, this does not
work anymore.

commit 060a07cd9b upstream.

Currently IPC4 has no notion of a switch or enum type of control which is
a generic concept in ALSA.

The generic support for these control types will be as follows:
- large config is used to send the channel-value par array
- param_id of a SWITCH type is 200
- param_id of an ENUM type is 201

Each module need to support a switch or/and enum must handle these
universal param_ids.
The message payload is described by struct sof_ipc4_control_msg_payload.

The SOF topology loading function sets the device name for the platform
component link. This should be unset when unloading the topology,
otherwise a machine driver unbind/bind or reprobe would complain about
an invalid component as having both its component name and of_node set:

    mt8186_mt6366 sound: ASoC: Both Component name/of_node are set for AFE_SOF_DL1
    mt8186_mt6366 sound: error -EINVAL: Cannot register card
    mt8186_mt6366 sound: probe with driver mt8186_mt6366 failed with error -22

This happens with machine drivers that set the of_node separately.

Clear the SOF link platform name in the topology unload callback.

When ACP is not powered on by default, acp power on sequence explicitly
invoked by programming pgfsm control mask. The existing implementation
checks the same PGFSM status mask and programs the same PGFSM control mask
in all ACP variants which breaks acp power on sequence for ACP6.0 and
ACP6.3 variants. So to fix this issue, update ACP pgfsm control mask and
status mask based on acp descriptor rev field, which will vary based on
acp variant.

Peter UjfalusiandGreg Kroah-Hartman 3b2f36068c ASoC: SOF: Intel: hda-dsp: Make sure that no irq handler is pending before suspend

In the existing IPC support, the reply to each IPC message is handled in
an IRQ thread. The assumption is that the IRQ thread is scheduled without
significant delays.

On an experimental (iow, buggy) kernel, the IRQ thread dealing with the
reply to the last IPC message before powering-down the DSP can be delayed
by several seconds. The IRQ thread will proceed with register accesses
after the DSP is powered-down which results in a kernel crash.

While the bug which causes the delay is not in the audio stack, we must
handle such cases with defensive programming to avoid such crashes.

Call synchronize_irq() before proceeding to power down the DSP to make
sure that no irq thread is pending execution.

Default firmware shipped in open source are not licensed for 3P
libraries, therefore topologies should not reference them.

If a OS wants to use 3P (that they have licensed) then they should use
the appropriate topology override mechanisms.

According to Documentation/devicetree/bindings/dsp/fsl,dsp.yaml
fsl,dsp-ctrl is a phandle to syscon block so we need to use correct
function to retrieve it.

Currently there is no SOF DSP DTS merged into mainline so there is no
need to support the old way of retrieving the dsp control node.

Peter UjfalusiandGreg Kroah-Hartman 414f5028f1 ASoC: SOF: ipc4-topology: Preserve the DMA Link ID for ChainDMA on unprepare
commit e6fc5fcaef upstream.

The DMA Link ID is set to the IPC message's primary during dai_config,
which is only during hw_params.
During xrun handling the hw_params is not called and the DMA Link ID
information will be lost.

All other fields in the message expected to be 0 for re-configuration, only
the DMA Link ID needs to be preserved and the in case of repeated
dai_config, it is correctly updated (masked and then set).

If the ipc_prepare() callback fails for a module instance, on error rewind
we must skip the ipc_unprepare() call for ones that has positive use count.

The positive use count means that the module instance is in active use, it
cannot be unprepared.

The issue affects capture direction paths with branches (single dai with
multiple PCMs), the affected widgets are in the shared part of the paths.

When system enters suspend with an active stream, SOF core
calls hw_params_upon_resume(). On Intel platforms with HDA DMA used
to manage the link DMA, this leads to call chain of

   hda_dsp_set_hw_params_upon_resume()
 -> hda_dsp_dais_suspend()
 -> hda_dai_suspend()
 -> hda_ipc4_post_trigger()

A bug is hit in hda_dai_suspend() as hda_link_dma_cleanup() is run first,
which clears hext_stream->link_substream, and then hda_ipc4_post_trigger()
is called with a NULL snd_pcm_substream pointer.

SoCs with ACE architecture are tailored to use s2idle instead deep (S3)
suspend state and the IMR content is lost when the system is forced to
enter even to S3.
When waking up from S3 state the IMR boot will fail as the content is lost.
Set the skip_imr_boot flag to make sure that we don't try IMR in this case.

Peter UjfalusiandSasha Levin 3cac6eebea ASoC: SOF: ipc4-pcm: Workaround for crashed firmware on system suspend

When the system is suspended while audio is active, the
sof_ipc4_pcm_hw_free() is invoked to reset the pipelines since during
suspend the DSP is turned off, streams will be re-started after resume.

If the firmware crashes during while audio is running (or when we reset
the stream before suspend) then the sof_ipc4_set_multi_pipeline_state()
will fail with IPC error and the state change is interrupted.
This will cause misalignment between the kernel and firmware state on next
DSP boot resulting errors returned by firmware for IPC messages, eventually
failing the audio resume.
On stream close the errors are ignored so the kernel state will be
corrected on the next DSP boot, so the second boot after the DSP panic.

If sof_ipc4_trigger_pipelines() is called from sof_ipc4_pcm_hw_free() then
state parameter is SOF_IPC4_PIPE_RESET and only in this case.

Treat a forced pipeline reset similarly to how we treat a pcm_free by
ignoring error on state sending to allow the kernel's state to be
consistent with the state the firmware will have after the next boot.

With the change in the widget free logic to power down the cores only
when the scheduler widgets are freed, we need to ensure that the
scheduler widget is freed only after all the widgets associated with the
scheduler are freed. This is to ensure that the secondary core that the
scheduler is scheduled to run on is kept powered on until all widgets
that need them are in use. While this works well for dynamic pipelines,
in the case of static pipelines the current logic does not take this into
account and frees all widgets in the order they occur in the
widget_list. So, modify this to ensure that the scheduler widgets are freed
only after all other types of widgets in the widget_list are freed.

The current code flow is:
1. snd_hdac_device_register()
2. set parameters needed by the hdac driver
3. request_codec_module()
   the hdac driver is probed at this point

During boot the codec drivers are not loaded when the hdac device is
registered, it is going to be probed later when loading the codec module,
which point the parameters are set.

On module remove/insert
rmmod snd_sof_pci_intel_tgl
modprobe snd_sof_pci_intel_tgl

The codec module remains loaded and the driver will be probed when the
hdac device is created right away, before the parameters for the driver
has been configured:

1. snd_hdac_device_register()
   the hdac driver is probed at this point
2. set parameters needed by the hdac driver
3. request_codec_module()
   will be a NOP as the module is already loaded

Move the snd_hdac_device_register() later, to be done right before
requesting the codec module to make sure that the parameters are all set
before the device is created:

1. set parameters needed by the hdac driver
2. snd_hdac_device_register()
3. request_codec_module()

This way at the hdac driver probe all parameters will be set in all cases.

describes the message payload passed to the firmware via the mailbox.

It is not wise to be 'clever' and try to use the first part of a struct

Ranjani SridharanandGreg Kroah-Hartman 3c124f09b7 ASoC: SOF: sof-audio: Modify logic for enabling/disabling topology cores

In the current code, we enable a widget core when it is set up and
disable it when it is freed. This is problematic with IPC4 because
widget free is essentially a NOP and all widgets are freed in the
firmware when the pipeline is deleted. This results in a crash during
pipeline deletion when one of it's widgets is scheduled to run on a
secondary core and is powered off when widget is freed. So, change the
logic to enable all cores needed by all the modules in a pipeline when
the pipeline widget is set up and disable them after the pipeline
widget is freed.

Ranjani SridharanandGreg Kroah-Hartman e8879e7a7b ASoC: SOF: ipc4-topology: Add core_mask in struct snd_sof_pipeline

With IPC4, a pipeline may contain multiple modules in the data
processing domain and they can be scheduled to run on different cores.
Add a new field in struct snd_sof_pipeline to keep track of all the
cores that are associated with the modules in the pipeline. Set the
pipeline core mask for IPC3 when initializing the pipeline widget IPC
structure. For IPC4, set the core mark when initializing the pipeline
widget and initializing processing modules in the data processing domain.
