[ Upstream commit 1f403699c4 ]
Using device_find_child() and of_find_device_by_node() to locate
devices could cause an imbalance in the device's reference count.
device_find_child() and of_find_device_by_node() both call
get_device() to increment the reference count of the found device
before returning the pointer. In mtk_drm_get_all_drm_priv(), these
references are never released through put_device(), resulting in
permanent reference count increments. Additionally, the
for_each_child_of_node() iterator fails to release node references in
all code paths. This leaks device node references when loop
termination occurs before reaching MAX_CRTC. These reference count
leaks may prevent device/node resources from being properly released
during driver unbind operations.
As comment of device_find_child() says, 'NOTE: you will need to drop
the reference with put_device() after use'.

According to mtk_drm_kms_init(), the all_drm_private array in each
drm private data stores all drm private data in display path order.
In mtk_drm_get_all_drm_priv(), each element in all_drm_priv should have one
display path private data, such as:
all_drm_priv[CRTC_MAIN] should only have main_path data
all_drm_priv[CRTC_EXT] should only have ext_path data
all_drm_priv[CRTC_THIRD] should only have third_path data
So we need to add the length checking for each display path before
assigning their drm private data into all_drm_priv array.
Then the all_drm_private array in each drm private data needs to be
assigned in their display path order.

When calling component_bind_all(), if a component that is included
in the list fails, all of those that have been successfully bound
will be unbound, but this driver has two components lists for two
actual devices, as in, each mmsys instance has its own components
list.
In case mmsys0 (or actually vdosys0) is able to bind all of its
components, but the secondary one fails, all of the components of
the first are kept bound, while the ones of mmsys1/vdosys1 are
correctly cleaned up.
This is not right because, in case of a failure, the components
are re-bound for all of the mmsys/vdosys instances without caring
about the ones that were previously left in a bound state.
Fix that by calling component_unbind_all() on all of the previous
component masters that succeeded binding all subdevices when any
of the other masters errors out.

In function mtk_drm_get_all_drm_priv(), this driver is incrementing
the refcount for the sub-drivers of mediatek-drm with a call to
device_find_child() when taking a reference to all of those child
devices.
When the component bind fails multiple times this results in a
refcount_t overflow, as the reference count is never decremented:
fix that by adding a call to put_device() for all of the mmsys
devices in a loop, in error cases of mtk_drm_bind() and in the

This driver is taking a kobject for mtk_mutex only once per mmsys
device for each drm-mediatek driver instance, differently from the
behavior with other components, but it is decrementing the kobj's
refcount in a loop and once per mmsys: this is not right and will
result in a refcount_t underflow warning when mediatek-drm returns
multiple probe deferrals in one boot (or when manually bound and
unbound).
Besides that, the refcount for mutex_dev was not decremented for
error cases in mtk_drm_bind(), causing another refcount_t warning
but this time for overflow, when the failure happens not during
driver bind but during component bind.
In order to fix one of the reasons why this is happening, remove
the put_device(xx->mutex_dev) loop from the mtk_drm_kms_init()'s
put_mutex_dev label (and drop the label) and add a single call to
correctly free the single incremented refcount of mutex_dev to
the mtk_drm_unbind() function to fix the refcount_t underflow.
Moreover, add the same call to the error cases in mtk_drm_bind()
to fix the refcount_t overflow.

for the TVD clock: in this particular case, the aforementioned
clock is not (and cannot be) parented to neither pixel or engine
clocks hence it won't get enabled automatically by the clock
framework.
Please note that on all of the currently supported MediaTek
platforms, the TVD clock is always a parent of either pixel or
engine clocks, and this means that the common clock framework
is already enabling this clock before the children.
On such platforms, this commit will only increase the refcount

Using "drm" level prints anywhere in this callpath causes a NULL

In mtk_crtc_ddp_config(), mtk_crtc will use some configuration flags to
generate instructions to cmdq_handle, such as:
state->pending_config
mtk_crtc->pending_planes
plane_state->pending.config
mtk_crtc->pending_async_planes
plane_state->pending.async_config
These configuration flags may be set to false when a GCE IRQ comes calling
ddp_cmdq_cb(). This may result in missing prepare instructions,
especially if mtk_crtc_update_config() with the flase need_vblank (no need
to wait for vblank) cases.
Therefore, the mtk_crtc->config_updating flag is set at the beginning of
mtk_crtc_update_config() to ensure that these configuration flags won't be
changed when the mtk_crtc_ddp_config() is preparing instructions.
But somehow the ddp_cmdq_cb() didn't use the mtk_crtc->config_updating
flag to prevent those pending config flags from being cleared.
To avoid missing the configuration when generating the config instruction,
the config_updating flag should be added into ddp_cmdq_cb() and be
protected with spin_lock.

SCA : plane alpha
When SCA = 0xff, the formula becomes:

- When dst.a = 0 (before), dst.a = src.a
- When dst.a = 0xff (after) , dst.a = 0xff * (0xff - src.a) + src.a

- When src.a = 0 , dst.a = 0
- When src.a = 0xff, dst.a = 0xff
This two cases are just still correct. But when src.a is
between 0 and 0xff, the difference starts to appear

The fact that we should call drm_atomic_helper_shutdown() in the case

This driver users the component model and shutdown happens in the base

The register bits definitions for RGB666 formats are wrong in multiple
ways: first, in the DSI_PS_SEL bits region, the Packed 18-bits RGB666
format is selected with bit 1, while the Loosely Packed one is bit 2,
and second - the definition name "LOOSELY_PS_18BIT_RGB666" is wrong
because the loosely packed format is 24 bits instead!
Either way, functions mtk_dsi_ps_control_vact() and mtk_dsi_ps_control()
do not even agree on the DSI_PS_SEL bit to set in DSI_PSCTRL: one sets
loosely packed (24) on RGB666, the other sets packed (18), and the other
way around for RGB666_PACKED.
Fixing this entire stack of issues is done in one go:
- Use the correct bit for the Loosely Packed RGB666 definition
- Rename LOOSELY_PS_18BIT_RGB666 to LOOSELY_PS_24BIT_RGB666
- Change ps_bpp_mode in mtk_dsi_ps_control_vact() to set:

- Packed, 18-bits for MIPI_DSI_FMT_RGB666_PACKED

renamed to MIPI_DSI_MODE_NO_EOT_PACKET, reflecting its actual meaning,
both the DSI_TXRX_CON register setting for bit (HSTX_)DIS_EOT and the
later calculation for horizontal sync-active (HSA), back (HBP) and
front (HFP) porches got incorrect due to the logic being inverted.
This means that a number of settings were wrong because....:
- DSI_TXRX_CON register setting: bit (HSTX_)DIS_EOT should be
set in order to disable the End of Transmission packet;
- Horizontal Sync and Back/Front porches: The delta used to
calculate all of HSA, HBP and HFP should account for the
additional EOT packet.
Before this change...
- Bit (HSTX_)DIS_EOT was being set when EOT packet was enabled;
- For HSA/HBP/HFP delta... all three were wrong, as words were
added when EOT disabled, instead of when EOT packet enabled!

The difference between drm_atomic_helper_commit_tail() and
drm_atomic_helper_commit_tail_rpm() is
drm_atomic_helper_commit_tail() will commit plane first and
then enable crtc, drm_atomic_helper_commit_tail_rpm() will
enable crtc first and then commit plane.
Before mediatek-drm enables crtc, the power and clk required
by OVL have not been turned on, so the commit plane cannot be
committed before crtc is enabled. That means OVL layer should
not be enabled before crtc is enabled.
Therefore, the atomic_commit_tail of mediatek-drm is hooked with
drm_atomic_helper_commit_tail_rpm().
Another reason is that the plane_state of drm_atomic_state is not
synchronized with the plane_state stored in mtk_crtc during crtc enablng,
so just set all planes to disabled.
