[ Upstream commit 0a1ff88ec5 ]
This resolves a potential deadlock vs msm_gem_vm_close(). Otherwise for
_NO_SHARE buffers msm_gem_describe() could be trying to acquire the
shared vm resv, while already holding priv->obj_lock. But _vm_close()
might drop the last reference to a GEM obj while already holding the vm
resv, and msm_gem_free_object() needs to grab priv->obj_lock, a locking
inversion.
OTOH this is only for debugfs and it isn't critical if we undercount by
skipping a locked obj. So just use trylock() and move along if we can't
get the lock.

At this point we haven't initialized the GMU at all yet, so we cannot read
the GMU registers inside a6xx_gpu_busy(). A similar issue was fixed before
in commit 6694482a70 ("drm/msm: Avoid unclocked GMU register access in
6xx gpu_busy"): msm_devfreq_init() does call devfreq_suspend_device(), but
unlike msm_devfreq_suspend(), it doesn't set the df->suspended flag
accordingly. This means the df->suspended flag does not match the actual
devfreq state after initialization and msm_devfreq_get_dev_status() will
end up accessing GMU registers, causing the crash.
Fix this by setting df->suspended correctly during initialization.

It was observed on sc7180 (A618 gpu) that GPU votes for GX rail and CNOC
BCM nodes were not removed after GPU suspend. This was because we
skipped sending 'prepare-slumber' request to gmu during suspend sequence
in some cases. So, make sure we always call prepare-slumber hfi during
suspend. Also, calling prepare-slumber without a prior oob-gpu handshake
messes up gmu firmware's internal state. So, do that when required.

Ordering issues here cause an uninitialized (default STANDALONE)
usecase to be programmed (which appears to be a MUX) in some cases
when msm_dsi_host_register() is called, leading to the slave PLL in
bonded-DSI mode to source from a clock parent (dsi1vco) that is off.
This should seemingly not be a problem as the actual dispcc clocks from
DSI1 that are muxed in the clock tree of DSI0 are way further down, this
bit still seems to have an effect on them somehow and causes the right
side of the panel controlled by DSI1 to not function.
In an ideal world this code is refactored to no longer have such
error-prone calls "across subsystems", and instead model the "PLL src"
register field as a regular mux so that changing the clock parents
programmatically or in DTS via `assigned-clock-parents` has the
desired effect.
But for the avid reader, the clocks that we *are* muxing into DSI0's
tree are way further down, so if this bit turns out to be a simple mux
between dsiXvco and out_div, that shouldn't have any effect as this
whole tree is off anyway.

When configuring the timing of DSI hosts (interfaces) in
dsi_timing_setup() all values written to registers are taking
bonded-mode into account by dividing the original mode width by 2
(half the data is sent over each of the two DSI hosts), but the full
width instead of the interface width is passed as hdisplay parameter to
dsi_update_dsc_timing().
Currently only msm_dsc_get_slices_per_intf() is called within
dsi_update_dsc_timing() with the `hdisplay` argument which clearly
documents that it wants the width of a single interface (which, again,
in bonded DSI mode is half the total width of the mode) resulting in all
subsequent values to be completely off.
However, as soon as we start to pass the halved hdisplay
into dsi_update_dsc_timing() we might as well discard
msm_dsc_get_slices_per_intf() since the value it calculates is already
available in dsc->slice_count which is per-interface by the current
design of MSM DPU/DSI implementations and their use of the DRM DSC
helpers.

So, we recommend adding an extra cast to prevent potential

If the allocation in msm_disp_state_dump_regs() failed then
`block->state` can be NULL. The msm_disp_state_print_regs() function
_does_ have code to try to handle it with:
if (*reg)
dump_addr = *reg;
...but since "dump_addr" is initialized to NULL the above is actually
a noop. The code then goes on to dereference `dump_addr`.
Make the function print "Registers not stored" when it sees a NULL to
solve this. Since we're touching the code, fix
msm_disp_state_print_regs() not to pointlessly take a double-pointer
and properly mark the pointer as `const`.

There is another cause for soft lock-up of GPU in empty ring-buffer:
race between GPU executing last commands and CPU checking ring for
emptiness. On GPU side IRQ for retire is triggered by CACHE_FLUSH_TS
event and RPTR shadow (which is used to check ring emptiness) is updated
a bit later from CP_CONTEXT_SWITCH_YIELD. Thus if GPU is executing its
last commands slow enough or we check that ring too fast we will miss a
chance to trigger switch to lower priority ring because current ring isn't
empty just yet. This can escalate to lock-up situation described in
previous patch.
To work-around this issue we keep track of last submit sequence number
for each ring and compare it with one written to memptrs from GPU during
execution of CACHE_FLUSH_TS event.

On A5XX GPUs when preemption is used it's invietable to enter a soft
lock-up state in which GPU is stuck at empty ring-buffer doing nothing.
This appears as full UI lockup and not detected as GPU hang (because
it's not). This happens due to not triggering preemption when it was
needed. Sometimes this state can be recovered by some new submit but
generally it won't happen because applications are waiting for old
submits to retire.
One of the reasons why this happens is a race between a5xx_submit and
a5xx_preempt_trigger called from IRQ during submit retire. Former thread
updates ring->cur of previously empty and not current ring right after
latter checks it for emptiness. Then both threads can just exit because
for first one preempt_state wasn't NONE yet and for second one all rings
appeared to be empty.
To prevent such situations from happening we need to establish guarantee
for preempt_trigger to make decision after each submit or retire. To
implement this we serialize preemption initiation using spinlock. If
switch is already in progress we need to re-trigger preemption when it
finishes.

Fine grain preemption (switching from/to points within submits)
requires extra handling in command stream of those submits, especially
when rendering with tiling (using GMEM). However this handling is
missing at this point in mesa (and always was). For this reason we get
random GPU faults and hangs if more than one priority level is used
because local preemption is enabled prior to executing command stream
from submit.
With that said it was ahead of time to enable local preemption by
default considering the fact that even on downstream kernel it is only
