Incomplete or inaccurate issues can lead to extended discussions to gather all the relevant information. It is a time and energy loss for both the issuer and the developer.
I am deliberately verbose in this first version.

add --local option to install_host_app.sh
...
Some users may be concerned with executing a script on their machine that
downloads files from the internet. This option allows users to opt out
of that behavior in favor of using files locally on disk instead.
