* UIManager: Let the fb backend deal with Kaleido wfm promotion. This fixes a number of quirks that poisoned the refresh queue with spurious full-screen refreshes. See https://github.com/koreader/koreader-base/pull/1865 for more details.
* This also means we now disable Kaleido waveform modes when color rendering is disabled (remember to trash your thumbnail cache if you don't want to mix color w/ grayscale thumbnails, though).
* UIManager: Merge refreshes that share an edge, because that was driving me nuts (and would have most likely been merged by the kernel anyway). A perfect test-case is the FM, which trips two separate refreshes because of its title bar.
* ReaderFlipping: Use sensible dimensions, so that we only refresh the icon's region.
* ReaderBookmark: Only refresh the dogear instead of the whole page when toggling bookmarks.
* NetworkSetting: Make it a real boy, so it consistently refreshes properly on dismiss instead of relying on UIManager saving the day.
* Kobo: Aggressively prevent *both* suspend & standby while MTK devices are plugged-in, as both will horribly implode the kernel (we previously only prevent standby while charging).
* Kobo: Switch to 8bpp on B&W MTK devices (or when color rendering is disabled on Kaleido panels).
Only available with EPUBs containing 2 or more fragments,
and a file size large enough to ensure a cache file is used.
The idea is simply, on any rendering setting change, to
skip the rerendering of the full book and to defer any
rerendering to the moment we draw a DocFragment, and
render only it.
So, on a setting change, only the fragment containing the
current page will be rerendered, and the new fragments we
may cross while turning pages.
When having done so, KOReader is in a degraded state (the
full page count is incorrect, the ToC is invalid...).
So, a full rerendering is needed, and one will happen
in the background, and when the user is idle, we reload
seamlessly and quickly from the cache file it has made.
ReaderFlipping will show some icons in the top left
corner to let it know at which steps in this procress
we are.
Basically:
* Use `extend` for class definitions
* Use `new` for object instantiations
That includes some minor code cleanups along the way:
* Updated `Widget`'s docs to make the semantics clearer.
* Removed `should_restrict_JIT` (it's been dead code since https://github.com/koreader/android-luajit-launcher/pull/283)
* Minor refactoring of LuaSettings/LuaData/LuaDefaults/DocSettings to behave (mostly, they are instantiated via `open` instead of `new`) like everything else and handle inheritance properly (i.e., DocSettings is now a proper LuaSettings subclass).
* Default to `WidgetContainer` instead of `InputContainer` for stuff that doesn't actually setup key/gesture events.
* Ditto for explicit `*Listener` only classes, make sure they're based on `EventListener` instead of something uselessly fancier.
* Unless absolutely necessary, do not store references in class objects, ever; only values. Instead, always store references in instances, to avoid both sneaky inheritance issues, and sneaky GC pinning of stale references.
* ReaderUI: Fix one such issue with its `active_widgets` array, with critical implications, as it essentially pinned *all* of ReaderUI's modules, including their reference to the `Document` instance (i.e., that was a big-ass leak).
* Terminal: Make sure the shell is killed on plugin teardown.
* InputText: Fix Home/End/Del physical keys to behave sensibly.
* InputContainer/WidgetContainer: If necessary, compute self.dimen at paintTo time (previously, only InputContainers did, which might have had something to do with random widgets unconcerned about input using it as a baseclass instead of WidgetContainer...).
* OverlapGroup: Compute self.dimen at *init* time, because for some reason it needs to do that, but do it directly in OverlapGroup instead of going through a weird WidgetContainer method that it was the sole user of.
* ReaderCropping: Under no circumstances should a Document instance member (here, self.bbox) risk being `nil`ed!
* Kobo: Minor code cleanups.
- Add IconWidget, use it for icons instead of ImageWidget.
Specify icons by name only, look for them (with either
.svg or .png suffixes) in multiple directories (including
koreader/settings/icons/ to allow customizing them).
Don't crash when icon name not found, shown a black
background warning icon instead.
- Don't trust the icons' native sizes: replace
scale_for_dpi=true with width/height=DGENERIC_ICON_SIZE,
so all icons get the same (tunable) size - except in
a few specific use cases.
- Top and bottom menu bars: normalize, and have icons
properly centered in them, extend vertical line
separators up to the edges.
- TOC: adjust expand/collapse icons size to items size
Adds configuration to the top corners as well as the additional gestures hold and two-finger tap.
Deprecates `DTAP_ZONE_FLIPPING` and `DTAP_ZONE_BOOKMARK`.
Fixes#4877.
Adds new options to the Links> submenu, for now only
available and used with CRE documents.
- Allow larger tap area around links
- Ignore external links
- Show footnotes in popup
- Show more links as footnotes
(This last item is mostly for testing and loosening the
footnote detection algorithm, and see how it would behave
with glossary-like links and inter glossary terms links.)
Fix distance computation from gesture position to link by
using segments.
Code for detecting if a link is a footnote is in cre.cpp, and
tweakable a bit with flags in ReaderLink:showAsFoonotePopup().
Footnotes HTML content is displayed by a new FootnoteWidget,
which uses MuPDF for its rendering.
From it, swipe south or tap outside to close, swipe to the left
to follow the original link and jump to the footnote location
in the book.
Also fix tap on highlights after the recent change to use segments
for displaying: use segments also when checking taps.
This is a major overhaul of the hardware abstraction layer.
A few notes:
General platform distinction happens in
frontend/device.lua
which will delegate everything else to
frontend/device/<platform_name>/device.lua
which should extend
frontend/device/generic/device.lua
Screen handling is implemented in
frontend/device/screen.lua
which includes the *functionality* to support device specifics.
Actually setting up the device specific functionality, however,
is done in the device specific setup code in the relevant
device.lua file.
The same goes for input handling.
