[ Upstream commit7e41837527] When connecting SFP PHY to phylink use the detected interface. Otherwise, the link fails to come up when the configured 'phy-mode' differs from the SFP detected mode. Move most of phylink_connect_phy() into __phylink_connect_phy(), and leave phylink_connect_phy() as a wrapper. phylink_sfp_connect_phy() can now pass the SFP detected PHY interface to __phylink_connect_phy(). This fixes 1GB SFP module link up on eth3 of the Macchiatobin board that is configured in the DT to "2500base-x" phy-mode. Documentation/admin-guide/README.rst first.
In order to build the documentation, use ``make htmldocs`` or
``make pdfdocs``. The formatted documentation can also be read online at:
https://www.kernel.org/doc/html/latest/
There are various text files in the Documentation/ subdirectory,
several of them using the Restructured Text markup notation.
See Documentation/00-INDEX for a list of what is contained in each file.
Please read the Documentation/process/changes.rst file, as it contains the
requirements for building and running the kernel, and information about
the problems which may result by upgrading your kernel.
