Commit53b7c271f0("smb: client: restrict implied bcc[0] exemption to responses without data area") restricted the implied bcc[0] length exception to responses without a data area. However, the overlap handling in __smb2_calc_size() clears data_length, which can make an invalid response appear to have no data area and so qualify for the exception. Track data area overlap separately and reject such responses before applying the length compatibility exceptions. Documentation/admin-guide/README.rst first.
In order to build the documentation, use ``make htmldocs`` or
``make pdfdocs``. The formatted documentation can also be read online at:
https://www.kernel.org/doc/html/latest/
There are various text files in the Documentation/ subdirectory,
several of them using the Restructured Text markup notation.
Please read the Documentation/process/changes.rst file, as it contains the
requirements for building and running the kernel, and information about
the problems which may result by upgrading your kernel.
