With the latest patches from Neil, we are now getting a build warning:

return rc;
^~
So fix this up by giving a default error value to rc.

These guides can be rendered in a number of formats, like HTML and PDF. In order to build the documentation, use ``make htmldocs`` or ``make pdfdocs``.
