When a PLOGI/ADISC/PRLI/REG_RPI fails, the node remains in the nodelist in that state. Although the driver now frees a node when the ref count goes to zero, in this case the ref cnt doesn't reach zero because there isn't a mechanism to release the final reference. Discovery just stops. Fix by calling the node discovery state machine DEVICE_RM event whenever one of these commands fail. This will remove the final reference count and trigger node release. Documentation/admin-guide/README.rst first.
In order to build the documentation, use ``make htmldocs`` or
``make pdfdocs``. The formatted documentation can also be read online at:
https://www.kernel.org/doc/html/latest/
There are various text files in the Documentation/ subdirectory,
several of them using the Restructured Text markup notation.
Please read the Documentation/process/changes.rst file, as it contains the
requirements for building and running the kernel, and information about
the problems which may result by upgrading your kernel.
