Implementing pte_update with pte_xchg (which uses cmpxchg) is inefficient. A single larx/stcx. works fine, no need for the less efficient cmpxchg sequence. Then remove the memory barriers from the operation. There is a requirement for TLB flushing to load mm_cpumask after the store that reduces pte permissions, which is moved into the TLB flush code. Documentation/admin-guide/README.rst first.
In order to build the documentation, use ``make htmldocs`` or
``make pdfdocs``. The formatted documentation can also be read online at:
https://www.kernel.org/doc/html/latest/
There are various text files in the Documentation/ subdirectory,
several of them using the Restructured Text markup notation.
See Documentation/00-INDEX for a list of what is contained in each file.
Please read the Documentation/process/changes.rst file, as it contains the
requirements for building and running the kernel, and information about
the problems which may result by upgrading your kernel.
