Current efivarfs uses simple_setattr which allows the setting of any size in the inode cache. This is wrong because a zero size file is used to indicate an "uncommitted" variable, so by simple means of truncating the file (as root) any variable may be turned to look like it's uncommitted. Fix by adding an efivarfs_setattr routine which does not allow updating of the cached inode size (which now only comes from the underlying variable). Documentation/admin-guide/README.rst first.
In order to build the documentation, use ``make htmldocs`` or
``make pdfdocs``. The formatted documentation can also be read online at:
https://www.kernel.org/doc/html/latest/
There are various text files in the Documentation/ subdirectory,
several of them using the reStructuredText markup notation.
Please read the Documentation/process/changes.rst file, as it contains the
requirements for building and running the kernel, and information about
the problems which may result by upgrading your kernel.
