Since the rcdev structure is allocated by the reset controller drivers themselves, they need to exists as long as there is a consumer. A call to module_get() is already existing but that does not work when using device-tree overlays. In order to guarantee that the underlying reset controller device does not vanish while using it, add a get_device() call when retrieving a reset control from a reset controller device and a put_device() when releasing that control. Documentation/admin-guide/README.rst first.
In order to build the documentation, use ``make htmldocs`` or
``make pdfdocs``. The formatted documentation can also be read online at:
https://www.kernel.org/doc/html/latest/
There are various text files in the Documentation/ subdirectory,
several of them using the reStructuredText markup notation.
Please read the Documentation/process/changes.rst file, as it contains the
requirements for building and running the kernel, and information about
the problems which may result by upgrading your kernel.
