The support for write intent bitmaps in files on an external files in md is a hot mess that abuses ->bmap to map file offsets into physical device objects, and also abuses buffer_heads in a creative way. Make this code optional so that MD can be built into future kernels without buffer_head support, and so that we can eventually deprecate it. Note this does not affect the internal bitmap support, which has none of the problems. Documentation/admin-guide/README.rst first.
In order to build the documentation, use ``make htmldocs`` or
``make pdfdocs``. The formatted documentation can also be read online at:
https://www.kernel.org/doc/html/latest/
There are various text files in the Documentation/ subdirectory,
several of them using the Restructured Text markup notation.
Please read the Documentation/process/changes.rst file, as it contains the
requirements for building and running the kernel, and information about
the problems which may result by upgrading your kernel.
