Commitd110162caf("perf tsc: Support cap_user_time_short for event TIME_CONV") supports the extended parameters for event TIME_CONV, but it broke the backwards compatibility, so any perf data file with old event format fails to convert timestamp. This patch introduces a helper event_contains() to check if an event contains a specific member or not. For the backwards-compatibility, if the event size confirms the extended parameters are supported in the event TIME_CONV, then copies these parameters. Documentation/admin-guide/README.rst first.
In order to build the documentation, use ``make htmldocs`` or
``make pdfdocs``. The formatted documentation can also be read online at:
https://www.kernel.org/doc/html/latest/
There are various text files in the Documentation/ subdirectory,
several of them using the Restructured Text markup notation.
Please read the Documentation/process/changes.rst file, as it contains the
requirements for building and running the kernel, and information about
the problems which may result by upgrading your kernel.
