commitd021b442cfupstream. ksm_tests was previously mmapping a region of memory, aligning the returned pointer to a PMD boundary, then setting MADV_HUGEPAGE, but was setting it past the end of the mmapped area due to not taking the pointer alignment into consideration. Fix this behaviour. Up until commitefa7df3e3b("mm: align larger anonymous mappings on THP boundaries"), this buggy behavior was (usually) masked because the alignment difference was always less than PMD-size. But since the mentioned commit, `ksm_tests -H -s 100` started failing. Documentation/admin-guide/README.rst first.
In order to build the documentation, use ``make htmldocs`` or
``make pdfdocs``. The formatted documentation can also be read online at:
https://www.kernel.org/doc/html/latest/
There are various text files in the Documentation/ subdirectory,
several of them using the Restructured Text markup notation.
Please read the Documentation/process/changes.rst file, as it contains the
requirements for building and running the kernel, and information about
the problems which may result by upgrading your kernel.
