The SMC-R variant of the SMC protocol used direct call to function ib_device_ops.get_netdev() to lookup netdev. As we used mlx5 device driver to run SMC-R, it failed to find a device, because in mlx5_ib the internal net device management for retrieving net devices was replaced by a common interface ib_device_get_netdev() in commit8d159eb211("RDMA/mlx5: Use IB set_netdev and get_netdev functions"). Since such direct accesses to the internal net device management is not recommended at all, update the SMC-R code to use proper API ib_device_get_netdev(). Linux kernel
============
There are several guides for kernel developers and users. These guides can
be rendered in a number of formats, like HTML and PDF. Please read
Documentation/admin-guide/README.rst first.
In order to build the documentation, use ``make htmldocs`` or
``make pdfdocs``. The formatted documentation can also be read online at:
https://www.kernel.org/doc/html/latest/
There are various text files in the Documentation/ subdirectory,
several of them using the reStructuredText markup notation.
Please read the Documentation/process/changes.rst file, as it contains the
requirements for building and running the kernel, and information about
the problems which may result by upgrading your kernel.
