The charge-control subsystem in the ChromeOS EC is not strictly tied to its USB-PD subsystem. Since commit7613bc0d11("mfd: cros_ec: Don't load charger with UCSI") the presence of EC_FEATURE_UCSI_PPM would inhibit the probing of the charge-control driver. Furthermore recent versions of the EC firmware in Framework laptops hard-disable EC_FEATURE_USB_PD to avoid probing cros-usbpd-charger, which then also breaks cros-charge-control. Instead use the dedicated EC_FEATURE_CHARGER. In order to build the documentation, use ``make htmldocs`` or
``make pdfdocs``. The formatted documentation can also be read online at:
https://www.kernel.org/doc/html/latest/
There are various text files in the Documentation/ subdirectory,
several of them using the reStructuredText markup notation.
Please read the Documentation/process/changes.rst file, as it contains the
requirements for building and running the kernel, and information about
the problems which may result by upgrading your kernel.
