7cceaff5f3 SIL: don't print operand types in textual SIL
Type annotations for instruction operands are omitted, e.g.

```
  %3 = struct $S(%1, %2)
```

Operand types are redundant anyway and were only used for sanity checking in the SIL parser.

But: operand types _are_ printed if the definition of the operand value was not printed yet.
This happens:

* if the block with the definition appears after the block where the operand's instruction is located

* if a block or instruction is printed in isolation, e.g. in a debugger

The old behavior can be restored with `-Xllvm -sil-print-types`.
This option is added to many existing test files which check for operand types in their check-lines.

d5a3e2e630 [AutoDiff] Fixes memory leaks in autodiff linear map context allocation builtins (#67944)
When the differentiating a function containing loops, we allocate a linear map context object on the heap. This context object may store non-trivial objects, such as closures, that need to be released explicitly. Fix the autodiff linear map context allocation builtins to correctly release such objects and not just free the memory they occupy.

69e4b95fb8 SIL: Model noescape partial_applys with ownership in OSSA.
Although nonescaping closures are representationally trivial pointers to their
on-stack context, it is useful to model them as borrowing their captures, which
allows for checking correct use of move-only values across the closure, and
lets us model the lifetime dependence between a closure and its captures without
an ad-hoc web of `mark_dependence` instructions.

During ownership elimination, We eliminate copy/destroy_value instructions and
end the partial_apply's lifetime with an explicit dealloc_stack as before,
for compatibility with existing IRGen and non-OSSA aware passes.

164ac421d6 Sema: Lift restriction preventing use of #_hasSymbol on non-Darwin platforms.
An early approach to codegen for `#_hasSymbol` relied on the Darwin platfom SDK, but now that the feature lowers directly to NULL checks in LLVM IR a platform restriction is no longer needed.

However, the tests for `#_hasSymbol` remain unsupported on Windows since that OS does not support weak linking.

I am doing this so that I can use lexical lifetimes to emit diagnostics such as

5c404acbde SIL: More robust substituted function type lowering.
This change separates out the formation of the generic signature and
substitutions for a SIL substituted function type as a pre-pass
before doing the actual function type lowering. The only input we
really need to form this signature is the original abstraction pattern
that a type is being lowered against, and pre-computing it should make
the code less side-effecty and confusing. It also allows us to handle
generic nominal types in a more robust way; we transfer over all of
the nominal type requirements to the generalized generic signature,
then when recursively visiting the bindings, we same-type-constrain
the generic parameters used in those requirements to the newly-generalized
generic arguments. This ensures that the minimized signature preserves
any non-trivial requirements imposed by the nominal type, such as
conditional conformances on its type arguments, same-type constraints
among associated types, etc.

This approach does lead to less-than-optimal generalized generic
signatures getting generated, since nominal type generic arguments
get same-type-bound either to other generic arguments or fixed to
concrete types almost always. It would be useful to do a minimization
pass on the final generic signature to eliminate these unnecessary
generic arguments, but that can be done in a follow-up PR.

1. When calculating the differential type of an original function with an inout parameter and when the inout parameter has a type parameter, the inout parameter should get a generic parameter in the subst generic signature of the differential but it currently doesn't. This causes SILGen to attempt to reabstract the differential value in the JVP protocol witness thunk, whilst the generic signature is lacking requirements, leading to a requirement machine error. This patch fixes the calculation so that the JVP's result type (the differential type) always matches the witness thunk's result type.

2. `TypeConverter::makeConstantInterfaceType` is not passing down the derivative generic signature to `SILFunctionType::getAutoDiffDerivativeFunctionType` for class methods, and this was caught by RequirementMachine during vtable emission. This patch fixes that.

Partially resolves rdar://82549134. The only remaining tests that require `-requirement-machine=off` are SILOptimizer/semantic_member_accessors_sil.swift and SILOptimizer/differentiation_diagnostics.swift which I will fix next. Then I'll do a proper fix for workaround #39416.

4f6ba29715 AutoDiff: Disable requirement machine when building or testing Differentiation library
The SIL type lowering logic for AutoDiff gets the substituted generic signature
mixed up with the invocation generic signature, so it tries to ask questions
about DependentMemberTypes in a signature with no requirements. This triggers
assertions when the requirement machine is enabled.

Disable the requirement machine until this is fixed.

d997526948 Fix function differentiability kind metadata and mangling. (#36601)
* Move differentiability kinds from target function type metadata to trailing objects so that we don't exhaust all remaining bits of function type metadata.
  * Differentiability kind is now stored in a tail-allocated word when function type flags say it's differentiable, located immediately after the normal function type metadata's contents (with proper alignment in between).
  * Add new runtime function `swift_getFunctionTypeMetadataDifferentiable` which handles differentiable function types.
* Fix mangling of different differentiability kinds in function types. Mangle it like `ConcurrentFunctionType` so that we can drop special cases for escaping functions.

8bc6143a4c [AutoDiff] Rename 'move(along:)' to 'move(by:)'.
Rename `move(along:)` to `move(by:)` based on the proposal feedback. The main argument for the change is that tangent vectors specify both a direction and a magnitude, whereas `along:` does not indicate that `self` is being moved by the specified magnitude.

af8942d940 [AutoDiff] Rename '@differentiable' to '@differentiable(reverse)'.
Compiler:
- Add `Forward` and `Reverse` to `DifferentiabilityKind`.
- Expand `DifferentiabilityMask` in `ExtInfo` to 3 bits so that it now holds all 4 cases of `DifferentiabilityKind`.
- Parse `@differentiable(reverse)` and `@differentiable(_forward)` declaration attributes and type attributes.
- Emit a warning for `@differentiable` without `reverse`.
- Emit an error for `@differentiable(_forward)`.
- Rename `@differentiable(linear)` to `@differentiable(_linear)`.
- Make `@differentiable(reverse)` type lowering go through today's `@differentiable` code path. We will specialize it to reverse-mode in a follow-up patch.

ABI:
- Add `Forward` and `Reverse` to `FunctionMetadataDifferentiabilityKind`.
- Extend `TargetFunctionTypeFlags` by 1 bit to store the highest bit of differentiability kind (linear). Note that there is a 2-bit gap in `DifferentiabilityMask` which is reserved for `AsyncMask` and `ConcurrentMask`; `AsyncMask` is ABI-stable so we cannot change that.

_Differentiation module:
- Replace all occurrences of `@differentiable` with `@differentiable(reverse)`.
- Delete `_transpose(of:)`.

f79391b684 [AutoDiff] Remove 'differentiableFunction(from:)' and 'linearFunction(from:)'.
Remove unused APIs `differentiableFunction(from:)` and `linearFunction(from:)`. They were never official APIs, are not included in the [initial proposal](https://github.com/rxwei/swift-evolution/blob/autodiff/proposals/0000-differentiable-programming.md#make-a-function-differentiable-using-derivative), and are unused by existing supported client libraries (SwiftFusion and S4TF). Most importantly, they block crucial optimizations on linear map closures (#34935) and would need nontrivial work in SILGen to support.

ffe6064101 Mangle derivative functions and linear maps.
- `Mangle::ASTMangler::mangleAutoDiffDerivativeFunction()` and `Mangle::ASTMangler::mangleAutoDiffLinearMap()` accept original function declarations and return a mangled name for a derivative function or linear map. This is called during SILGen and TBDGen.
- `Mangle::DifferentiationMangler` handles differentiation function mangling in the differentiation transform. This part is necessary because we need to perform demangling on the original function and remangle it as part of a differentiation function mangling tree in order to get the correct substitutions in the mangled derivative generic signature.

A mangled differentiation function name includes:
- The original function.
- The differentiation function kind.
- The parameter indices for differentiation.
- The result indices for differentiation.
- The derivative generic signature.

de2dbe57ed [AutoDiff] Bump-pointer allocate pullback structs in loops. (#34886)
In derivatives of loops, no longer allocate boxes for indirect case payloads. Instead, use a custom pullback context in the runtime which contains a bump-pointer allocator.

When a function contains a differentiated loop, the closure context is a `Builtin.NativeObject`, which contains a `swift::AutoDiffLinearMapContext` and a tail-allocated top-level linear map struct (which represents the linear map struct that was previously directly partial-applied into the pullback). In branching trace enums, the payloads of previously indirect cases will be allocated by `swift::AutoDiffLinearMapContext::allocate` and stored as a `Builtin.RawPointer`.

8c5737d1d5 [ownership] Change thin_to_thick function to always produce a none value.
It can already only accept values with none ownership and the merging of
ownership around ownership phis ensure that if we phi this with a partial_apply
or the like, we get the appropriate ownership on any such ownership phi values.

We are now out of SILGen emitting fewer destroy_value unnecessarily on
thin_to_thick functions. This changed some codegen and also forced me to update
some tests/fix AutoDiff.

I also deleted the DebugInfo test mandatoryinlining-wrongdebugscope.swift since:

1. It was depending on these destroys being there.

2. Given the need to improve the test @aprantl suggested I just eliminate it
solving the test failure for me.

383482b657 [AutoDiff] Fix derivative generic signature same-type requirements. (#32803)
Fix SILGen for `@derivative` attributes where the derivative generic signature
is equal to the original generic signature and has all concrete generic
parameters (i.e. all generic parameters are bound to concrete types via
same-type requirements).

SILGen should emit a differentiability witness with no generic signature.
This is already done for `@differentiable` attributes.

d3b6b89de6 [AutoDiff] Support multiple differentiability result indices in SIL. (#32206)
`DifferentiableFunctionInst` now stores result indices.
`SILAutoDiffIndices` now stores result indices instead of a source index.

`@differentiable` SIL function types may now have multiple differentiability
result indices and `@noDerivative` resutls.

`@differentiable` AST function types do not have `@noDerivative` results (yet),
so this functionality is not exposed to users.

Resolves TF-689 and TF-1256.

Infrastructural support for TF-983: supporting differentiation of `apply`
instructions with multiple active semantic results.

5036c959aa [AutoDiff] Require same access level for original/derivative functions. (#31527)
Require `@derivative` functions and their original functions to have the same
access level. Public original functions may also have internal
`@usableFromInline` derivatives, as a special case.

Diagnose access level mismatches. Produce a fix-it to change the derivative
function's access level.

This simplifies derivative registration rules, and may enable simplification of
AutoDiff symbol linkage rules.

Resolves TF-1099 and TF-1160.

1308fc69c5 [AutoDiff] Simplify conditions enabling differentiable programming. (#30765)
Previously, two conditions were necessary to enable differentiable programming:
- Using the `-enable-experimental-differentiable-programming` frontend flag.
- Importing the `_Differentiation` module.

Importing the `_Differentiation` module is the true condition because it
contains the required compiler-known `Differentiable` protocol. The frontend
flag is redundant and cumbersome.

Now, the frontend flag is removed.
Importing `_Differentiation` is the only condition.

* Add `withoutDerivative(at:)`, used for efficiently stopping the derivative propagation at a value and causing the derivative at the value to be zero.
* Add utility `differentiableFunction(from:)`, used for creating a `@differentiable` function from an original function and a derivative function.

Mostly work done by @marcrasi and @dan-zheng.
Partially resolves TF-843.

TODO:
* Add `AnyDerivative`.
* Add `Array.differentiableMap(_:)` and `differentiableReduce(_:_:)`.

bbe86e908d [AutoDiff upstream] Add Differentiable protocol derived conformances. (#30671)
Add `AdditiveArithmetic` derived conformances for structs and classes, gated by
the `-enable-experimental-differentiable-programming` flag.

Structs and classes whose stored properties all conform to `Differentiable` can
derive `Differentiable`:

- `associatedtype TangentVector: Differentiable & AdditiveArithmetic`
  - Member `TangentVector` structs are synthesized whose stored properties are
    all `var` stored properties that conform to `Differentiable` and that are
    not `@noDerivative`.
- `mutating func move(along: TangentVector)`

The `@noDerivative` attribute may be declared on stored properties to opt out of
inclusion in synthesized `TangentVector` structs.

Some stored properties cannot be used in `TangentVector` struct synthesis and
are implicitly marked as `@noDerivative`, with a warning:

- `let` stored properties.
  - These cannot be updated by `mutating func move(along: TangentVector)`.
- Non-`Differentiable`-conforming stored properties.

`@noDerivative` also implies `@_semantics("autodiff.nonvarying")`, which is
relevant for differentiable activity analysis.

Add type-checking and SILGen tests.

Resolves TF-845.
