Clang does not accept `-x objective-c` with WebAssembly target and it
crashes with "Objective-C support is unimplemented for object file
format" for now. `-enable-objc-interop` can work without the objc
runtime support (which is indicated by `objc_interop` feature), so this
adds a new `objc_codegen` feature to require Objective-C support only
at compile-time.
Modify IRGen to emit “anonymous” string constants with names of the form `@.str.<len>.<contents>` (with a special mangling for internal `\0` characters). This makes it much easier to write IRGen tests that check for the contents of strings, because matching the constant name also implies that the constant has the expected content.
Objective-C class references (which show up in the __objc_classrefs
section) are always coalesced by the linker. When we relatively
address them (which occurs in protocol conformance records), the
linker may compute the relative offset *before* coalescing, leading to
an incorrect result. The net effect is a protocol conformance record
that applies to the wrong Objective-C class, causing all sorts of
runtime mayhem.
Switch relatively-addressed Objective-C classes over to using the
Objective-C runtime name of the class. It's a less efficient encoding
(since we need to go through objc_lookUpClass), but it avoids the
linker bug.
Fixes rdar://problem/46428085 by working around the linker bug.
As part of this, rename TypeMetadataRecordKind to TypeReferenceKind
and consistently give it three bits of storage.
The better modelling of these type references appears to have been
sufficient to make dynamic conformance checks succeed, which is good
but unexpected.
Avoid a temporary file and executing FileCheck multiple types and prefer
multiple check prefixes and streaming. Additionally, enable some of
previously XFAIL'ed tests on Linux as well as tests that were marked as
requiring Objective-C interop.
We were emitting foreign type metadata for this case, because of an
invalid usage of ClassDecl::isForeign(), which also returns true
for runtime-only classes.
