f0e5e1911d IRGen: Access concrete type metadata by mangled name.
When we generate code that asks for complete metadata for a fully concrete specific type that
doesn't have trivial metadata access, like `(Int, String)` or `[String: [Any]]`,
generate a cache variable that points to a mangled name, and use a common accessor function
that turns that cache variable into a pointer to the instantiated metadata. This saves a bunch
of code size, and should have minimal runtime impact, since the demangling of any string only
has to happen once.

This mostly just works, though it exposed a couple of issues:

- Mangling a type ref including objc protocols didn't cause the objc protocol record to get
instantiated. Fixed as part of this patch.
- The runtime type demangler doesn't correctly handle retroactive conformances. If there are
multiple retroactive conformances in a process at runtime, then even though the mangled string
refers to a specific conformance, the runtime still just picks one without listening to the
mangler. This is left to fix later, rdar://problem/53828345.

There is some more follow-up work that we can do to further improve the gains:

- We could improve the runtime-provided entry points, adding versions that don't require size
to be cached, and which can handle arbitrary metadata requests. This would allow for mangled
names to also be used for incomplete metadata accesses and improve code size of some generic
type accessors. However, we'd only be able to take advantage of the new entry points in
OSes that ship a new runtime.
- We could choose to always symbolic reference all type references, which would generally reduce
the size of mangled strings, as well as make runtime demangling more efficient, since it wouldn't
need to hit the runtime caches. This would however require that we be able to handle symbolic
references across files in the MetadataReader in order to avoid regressing remote mirror
  functionality.

5758cdcfcc [ABI] Eliminate the special structure for generic parameter references.
TargetGenericParamRef is a specialized structure used to describe the
subject of a generic requirement, e.g., the “T.Assoc” in “T.Assoc: P”.
Replace it with a mangled name, for several reasons:

1) Mangled type names are also fairly concise, can often be shared, and
are a well-tested path
2) Mangled type names can express any type, which might be useful in the
future
3) This structure doesn’t accommodate specifically stating where the
conformances come from (to extract associated type witnesses). Neither
can mangled names, but we’d like to do that work in only one place.

This change exposed an existing bug where we improperly calculated the
generic parameter counts for extensions of nested generic types. Fix that
bug here (which broke an execution test).

6948073499 [IRGen] Simplify nondependent associated type witness metadata accessors.

resilience reasons, but the associated type witness doesn’t involve any
type parameters, directly form the type metadata reference (and don’t
cache it).

While here… update all of the IRGen/SILGen test cases perturbed by the
introduction of resilient associated type access patterns.

b80618fc80 Replace materializeForSet with the modify coroutine.
Most of this patch is just removing special cases for materializeForSet
or other fairly mechanical replacements. Unfortunately, the rest is
still a fairly big change, and not one that can be easily split apart
because of the quite reasonable reliance on metaprogramming throughout
the compiler. And, of course, there are a bunch of test updates that
have to be sync'ed with the actual change to code-generation.

This is SR-7134.

a54a6d8d7f [ABI] Rework protocol descriptor metadata.
Reimplement protocol descriptors for Swift protocols as a kind of
context descriptor, dropping the Objective-C protocol compatibility
layout. The new protocol descriptors have several advantages over the
current implementation:

* They drop all of the unused fields required for layout-compatibility
  with Objective-C protocols.
* They encode the full requirement signature of the protocol. This
maintains more information about the protocol itself, including
  (e.g.) correctly encoding superclass requirements.
* They fit within the general scheme of context descriptors, rather than
being their own thing, which allows us to share more code with
  nominal type descriptors.
* They only use relative pointers, so they’re smaller and can be placed
  in read-only memory

 Implements rdar://problem/38815359.

e223f1fc9b [IRGen][runtime] Simplify runtime CCs and entry point ABIs (#14175)
* Remove RegisterPreservingCC. It was unused.
* Remove DefaultCC from the runtime. The distinction between C_CC and DefaultCC
was unused and inconsistently applied. Separate C_CC and DefaultCC are
  still present in the compiler.
* Remove function pointer indirection from runtime functions except those
that are used by Instruments. The remaining Instruments interface is
expected to change later due to function pointer liability.
* Remove swift_rt_ wrappers. Function pointers are an ABI liability that we
don't want, and there are better ways to get nonlazy binding if we need it.
The fully custom wrappers were only needed for RegisterPreservingCC and
for optimizing the Instruments function pointers.

9a228e96e1 Change the structure of emitted protocol and generic-wtable metadata:
- Always include an array of requirement descriptors in the protocol
descriptor. For now, this doesn't contain anything except a general
requirement kind and an optional default implementation, but eventually
this can be augmented with type / name metadata. This array is always
  emitted as constant.

- Guarantee the value of the extent fields in a protocol descriptor and
  slightly tweak their meaning.

- Move the private-data field out of line in a generic witness table
descriptor so that the main descriptor can be emitted as constant.

- Rely on IRGen's notion of the witness-table layout instead of assuming
that SILWitnessTable and SILDefaultWitnessTable match the actual
  physical layout.

This version of the patch uses a hack in which we assign internal rather
than private linkage to certain symbols in order to work around a Darwin
linker bug.

d61d966451 Use ConstantInitBuilder in most kinds of metadata emission.
This is NFC in intent, but I had to restructure the code to emit more
of the lists "inline", which means I inevitably altered some IRGen
emission patterns in ways that are visible to tests:

- GenClass emits property/ivar/whatever descriptors in a somewhat
  different order.

- An ext method type list is now emitted as just an array, not a struct
  containing only that array.

- Protocol descriptors are no longer emitted as packed structs.

I was sorely tempted to stop using packed structs for all the metadata
emission, but didn't really want to update that many tests in one go.

39fa2f0228 Use the swift calling convention for swift functions
Use the generic type lowering algorithm described in
"docs/CallingConvention.rst#physical-lowering" to map from IRGen's explosion
type to the type expected by the ABI.

Change IRGen to use the swift calling convention (swiftcc) for native swift

Use the 'swiftself' attribute on self parameters and for closures contexts.

Use the 'swifterror' parameter for swift error parameters.

Change functions in the runtime that are called as native swift functions to use
the swift calling convention.

e0e2d9bf24 IRGen: Emit default witness tables in protocol metadata
IRGen now uses a ConstantBuilder to build protocol metadata, which may
now have additional fields at the end for default witnesses.

For now, the default implementations in the test have to external
because IRGen cannot emit a witness_method body where Self is
abstract. I will fix this by passing in the witness table as part
of the witness_method calling convention.

On the IRGen side, other than the calling convention change, the only
remaining piece here is emitting GenericWitnessTables and accessor
functions for conformances where the conformance is defined in
a different module than the protocol, and the protocol is resilient.

Sema still needs to infer default witnesses and store them in the
ProtocolDecl, so that SILGen can emit default witness thunks for
them.
