4f8872598b [ConstraintSolver] NFC: Add option to control early termination of shrinking phase
Currently we have a number of unsolved disjunctions hard-coded to 5,
which breaks some existing code by terminating shrinking too early.
This patch makes it a command-line option so users have control over
what that threshold can be.

ed23eb3761 Revert "SE-0157: Enable recursive protocol constraints by default."
This reverts commit afbdbae9d9.

Commit ded45a6e1c more than triples the
type checking time when building Swift.o, so I am going to revert that ,
and it looks like this needs to be reverted as well if that commit is
reverted.

We don't know if they work in general, but specific cases of recursive
protocol constraints are working, and enabling them doesn't break

70b75491a0 SE-0157: Add a frontend flag -enable-recursive-constraints.
Introduce `-enable-recursive-constraints` to disable the error about
direct recursion within a protocol definition. The implementation of
recursive protocol constraints is incomplete, but might be useful for
experimentation.

7f22faf968 Substantially rework how SILGen handles bridging as part of laying the
ground work for the syntactic bridging peephole.

- Pass source and dest formal types to the bridging routines in addition
to the dest lowered type. The dest lowered type is still necessary
in order to handle non-standard abstraction patterns for the dest type.

- Change bridging abstraction patterns to store bridged formal types
  instead of the formal type.

- Improve how SIL type lowering deals with import-as-member patterns.

- Fix some AST bugs where inadequate information was being stored in
  various expressions.

- Introduce the idea of a converting SGFContext and use it to regularize
  the existing id-as-Any conversion peephole.

- Improve various places in SILGen to emit directly into contexts.

f03685b6d0 Introduce a command-line option to limit the # of typo corrections.
Typo correction can be particularly expensive, so introduce a
command-line flag to limit the number of typo corrections we will
perform per type-checker instance. Default this limit to 10.

Addresses rdar://problem/28469270 to some extent.

4ce33ced0d Fix sys::Cache for ref-counted values which caused memory leaks in SourceKit
Our libcache implementation of swift::sys::Cache was broken for
ref-counted values (which are used by e.g. the SourceKit ASTManager).
It would always `retain(value)` in `set(key, value)`, but under the hood
libcache shares values, so we would only get one `release(value)` if the
same value was used across multiple keys, or if the same value *and* key
were set multiple times.

This was causing us to never release ASTs cached by SourceKit even when
the underlying libcache purged itself under memory pressure.

5c1967397b Update and re-enable the diagnostics for unstable runtime names.
This time, the warnings only fire when the class in question directly
conforms to NSCoding. This avoids warning on cases where the user has
subclassed something like, oh, UIViewController, and has no intention
of writing it to a persistent file.

This also removes the warning for generic classes that conform to
NSCoding, for simplicity's sake. That means
'@NSKeyedArchiverEncodeNonGenericSubclassesOnly' is also being
removed.

Actually archiving a class with an unstable mangled name is still
considered problematic, but the compiler shouldn't emit diagnostics
unless it can be sure they are relevant.

e3e0f440a1 Serialization: Recovery for protocol conformances with changed witness or requirement signatures.
Deserializing a witness record in a conformance may fail if either of the requirement or witness changed name or type, most likely due to SDK modernization changes across Swift versions. When this happens, leave an opaque placeholder in the conformance to indicate that the witness exists but we don't get to see it. For expedience, right now this just witnesses the requirement to itself, so that code in the type checker or elsewhere that tries to ad-hoc devirtualize references to the requirement just gets the requirement back. Arguably, we shouldn't include the witness at all in imported conformances, since they should be an implementation detail, but that's a bigger, riskier change. This patch as is should be enough to address rdar://problem/31185053.

be86bcac1d [Migrator] Suggest String <-> Substring conversions
Some APIs that expected a String now expect a Substring and vice
versa. To ease the transition, emit fix-its on conversion errors
between these types that the migrator can pick up.

When converting from Substring -> String, suggest wrapping in
`String.init`.

When converting from String -> Substring, suggest appending the
void subscript `[]`. (This isn't implemented yet so this is
hidden behind a flag).

This can possibly be generalized later when converting between
some sequence and its subsequence, such as Array and ArraySlice,
for example.

66b11cbc3d [SE-0160] Make deprecated @objc inference warnings opt-in.
The warnings about deprecated @objc inference in Swift 3 mode can be a
bit annoying; and are mostly relevant to the migration workflow. Make
the warning emission a three-state switch:

* None (the default): don't warn about these issues.
* Minimal (-warn-swift3-objc-inference-minimal): warn about direct
uses of @objc entrypoints and provide "@objc" Fix-Its for them.
* Complete (-warn-swift3-objc-inference-complete): warn about all
cases where Swift 3 infers @objc but Swift 4 will not.

Fixes rdar://problem/31922278.

303a3e5824 Start the Migrator library
The Swift 4 Migrator is invoked through either the driver and frontend
with the -update-code flag.

The basic pipeline in the frontend is:

- Perform some list of syntactic fixes (there are currently none).
- Perform N rounds of sema fix-its on the primary input file, currently
set to 7 based on prior migrator seasons. Right now, this is just set
to take any fix-it suggested by the compiler.
- Emit a replacement map file, a JSON file describing replacements to a
file that Xcode knows how to understand.

Currently, the Migrator maintains a history of migration states along
the way for debugging purposes.

- Add -emit-remap frontend option
This will indicate the EmitRemap frontend action.
- Don't fork to a separte swift-update binary.
This is going to be a mode of the compiler, invoked by the same flags.
- Add -disable-migrator-fixits option
Useful for debugging, this skips the phase in the Migrator that
automatically applies fix-its suggested by the compiler.
- Add -emit-migrated-file-path option
This is used for testing/debugging scenarios. This takes the final
migration state's output text and writes it to the file specified
  by this option.
- Add -dump-migration-states-dir

This dumps all of the migration states encountered during a migration
run for a file to the given directory. For example, the compiler
fix-it migration pass dumps the input file, the output file, and the
  remap file between the two.

State output has the following naming convention:
  ${Index}-${MigrationPassName}-${What}.${extension}, such as:
  1-FixitMigrationState-Input.swift
