Basic implementatation of SE-0021, naming functions with argument
labels. Handle parsing of compound function names in various
unqualified-identifier productions, updating the AST representation of
various expressions from Identifiers to DeclNames. The result doesn't
capture all of the source locations we want; more on that later.
As part of this, remove the parsing code for the "selector-style"
method names, since we now have a replacement. The feature was never
publicized and doesn't make sense in Swift, so zap it outright.
Adds an associatedtype keyword to the parser tokens, and accepts either
typealias or associatedtype to create an AssociatedTypeDecl, warning
that the former is deprecated. The ASTPrinter now emits associatedtype
for AssociatedTypeDecls.
Separated AssociatedType from TypeAlias as two different kinds of
CodeCompletionDeclKinds. This part probably doesn’t turn out to be
absolutely necessary currently, but it is nice cleanup from formerly
specifically glomming the two together.
And then many, many changes to tests. The actual new tests for the fixits
is at the end of Generics/associated_types.swift.
Introduce a new attribute, swift3_migration, that lets us describe the
transformation required to map a Swift 2.x API into its Swift 3
equivalent. The only transformation understood now is "renamed" (to
some other declaration name), but there's a message field where we can
record information about other changes. The attribute can grow
somewhat (e.g., to represent parameter reordering) as we need it.
Right now, we do nothing but store and validate this attribute.

1. Array type parsing for postfix array types Int[]. We now handle this
in the parser, but remove the AST representation of this old form. We
also stop making vague promises about the future by saying that "fixed
size arrays aren't supported... yet". Removal of this fixes a compiler
crasher too.
2. Remove the special case support for migrating @autoclosure from types
to parameters, which was Swift 1.0/1.1 syntax. The world has moved or
we don't care anymore.
3. Remove upgrade support for # arguments (nee "backtick" arguments), which
was a Swift 1.x'ism abolished in an effort to simplify method naming
rules.

Parameters (to methods, initializers, accessors, subscripts, etc) have always been represented
as Pattern's (of a particular sort), stemming from an early design direction that was abandoned.
Being built on top of patterns leads to patterns being overly complicated (e.g. tuple patterns
have to have varargs and default parameters) and make working on parameter lists complicated
and error prone. This might have been ok in 2015, but there is no way we can live like this in
2016.
Instead of using Patterns, carve out a new ParameterList and Parameter type to represent all the
parameter specific stuff. This simplifies many things and allows a lot of simplifications.
Unfortunately, I wasn't able to do this very incrementally, so this is a huge patch. The good
news is that it erases a ton of code, and the technical debt that went with it. Ignoring test
suite changes, we have:
77 files changed, 2359 insertions(+), 3221 deletions(-)
This patch also makes a bunch of wierd things dead, but I'll sweep those out in follow-on
patches.
Fixes <rdar://problem/22846558> No code completions in Foo( when Foo has error type
Fixes <rdar://problem/24026538> Slight regression in generated header, which I filed to go with 3a23d75.
Fixes an overloading bug involving default arguments and curried functions (see the diff to
Constraints/diagnostics.swift, which we now correctly accept).
Fixes cases where problems with parameters would get emitted multiple times, e.g. in the
test/Parse/subscripting.swift testcase.
The source range for ParamDecl now includes its type, which permutes some of the IDE / SourceModel tests
(for the better, I think).
Eliminates the bogus "type annotation missing in pattern" error message when a type isn't
specified for a parameter (see test/decl/func/functions.swift).
This now consistently parenthesizes argument lists in function types, which leads to many diffs in the
SILGen tests among others.
This does break the "sibling indentation" test in SourceKit/CodeFormat/indent-sibling.swift, and
I haven't been able to figure it out. Given that this is experimental functionality anyway,
I'm just XFAILing the test for now. i'll look at it separately from this mongo diff.
Allow all keywords except for parameter introducers (var/let/inout) to
be argument labels when declaring or calling a
function/initializer/subscript, e.g., this
func touchesMatching(phase: NSTouchPhase, `in` view: NSView?) -> Set<NSTouch>
can now be expressed as
func touchesMatching(phase: NSTouchPhase, in view: NSView?) -> Set<NSTouch>
and the call goes from

This is a frequently reported and surprising issue where lack of whitespace leads to
rejecting common code like "X*-4". Fix this by diagnosing it specifically as a lack
of whitespace problem, including a fixit to insert the missing whitespace (to transform
it into "X * -4". This even handles the cases where there are multiple valid (single)
splits possible by emitting a series of notes.
Don't allow a pattern like:
for var x in sequence {
...
}
and provide a removal fix-it for the 'var' keyword.
Additionally, for the following code:
for let x in sequence {
...
}
Provide a removal fix-it since the 'let' specifier is now
redundant.

Swift SVN r32818
Before this commit, for a var decl at top level, code completion engine assumes the code
completion token contained in this decl is the end point of the delayed parsing, i.e. the
second pass of code completion. This may lead to incomplete ASTs during the second pass, for
instance, when the code completion token lies at the second argument of a call expr that takes
three arguments. We fix the issue by allowing the first pass to pre-register the end location of
a top-level var decl since the first pass is a more error-tolerant and holistic parsing, and the second
pass to reuse this loc.

Now we can handle simple cases like
1 + 1 == 2 <here>
and correctly suggest both + on the 2 and || on the boolean. When the
LHS doesn't type-check we fallback to using only the operand immediately
to the left.
Swift SVN r32489
r32195 introduced new behavior when there was an error with a build
config: if there was an error, never parse. This was to prevent noise
when a block of code guarded by a _compiler_version clause was
syntatically wrong/misspelled, making it active when it shouldn't have
been. This supressed parsing blocks guarded by other build configs,
which is kind of a regression since, until _compiler_version, all build
configs were always parsed, even if their clauses are inactive. Skipping
parsing may hinder indentation, code folding, and parse-aware
highlighting.
If there is a valid switch on _compiler_version, continue to
skip parsing and supress Lex diagnostics for inactive blocks. If there
is an error evaluating a build config, parse all of its blocks.

Swift SVN r32205
This configuration clause will suppress lex diagnostics and skip parsing
altogether if the code under the clause isn't active - the compiler must
have a repository version greater than or equal to the version given to
_compiler_version.
This option is only meant to be used sparingly and not to track the
Swift *language* version.
Example, if using a compiler versioned 700.0.28:

if required however not specified, or a list of argument values. These values are annotated
with their type relation to the expected argument types, so that
Xcode can prioritize those values that apply over those that do not.

Before this commit, for unresolved members, code completion suggests all visible enum elements
and option set types. To refine the results, this commit uses constraint solver to infer
the type of unresolved members by analyzing parental expressions. If the solver has solutions,
we complete the unresolved member, otherwise abort.
