4eff6f1374 [FrontendTool] -emit-tbd and -validate-tbd-against-ir flags.
These, respectively, write a list of symbols to a file, and compare what
that list would be against the "true" list (the symbol names in the IR).

412d1d5e1e [Scope map] Introduce an operation to find the innermost scope based on a given source location.
Given a source location, we can find the innermost enclosing scope
that describes that source location. Introduce this operation into the
scope map, then add a testing mode where we probe the scope map at
specifi locations to see what we find. Test for:

1) Finding the right innermost enclosing scope, and
2) That we're only expanding the part of the scope map that is needed
to identify that scope.

827f573d6b Teach the Swift front-end to generate code with
"Sanitizer Coverage" with a new flag ``-sanitize-coverage=``. This
flag is analogous to Clang's ``-fsanitize-coverage=``.

This instrumentation currently requires ASan or TSan to be enabled
because the module pass created by ``createSanitizerCoverageModulePass()``
inserts calls into functions found in compiler-rt's "sanitizer_common".
"sanitizer_common" is not shipped as an individual library but instead
exists in several of the sanitizer runtime libraries so we have to
link with one of them to avoid linking errors.

The rationale between adding this feature is to allow experimentation
with libFuzzer which currently relies on "Sanitizer Coverage"
instrumentation.

ef925f8fb3 [asan] Add basic support for Address Sanitizer function instrumentation
ASan allows to catch and diagnose memory corruption errors, which are possible
when using unsafe pointers.

This patch introduces a new driver/frontend option -sanitize=address to enable
ASan. When option is passed in, the ASan llvm passes will be turned on and
all functions will gain SanitizeAddress llvm attribute.

de0062e437 [Diagnostics] Remove all categories
Diagnostic categories are entirely unused and arguably useless as
implemented, as they merely denote the sub-component of the
compiler.

As far as categorizing warnings are concerned, I'm abandoning the
effort for now, as the utility is marginal and Swift and the Swift
compiler are probalby not ready for these to be nailed down. For the
sake of cleanliness, the CATEGORY field is also stripped from
WARNINGS.

If there's a need for automatic identifying of compiler sub-components
for diagnstics in the future, there are better ways to do this.

0481b87ba5 Move target configuration setup into CompilerInvocation.
Without this, clients that don't use a CompilerInstance (like LLDB) won't
have target configuration options available.

Also, move minimum OS checking into the driver. This makes sure the check
happens early (and only once), and in general fits the philosophy of
allowing the frontend to use configurations that might be banned for users.

8699a3b83f Add -import-underlying-module option.
This option implicitly imports the Clang module with the same name as the
module being built into every source file in the module being built.
This will be used for mixed-source framework targets to give Swift code the
same implicit visibility for Objective-C decls in the same module that it
already has for other Swift decls.

e50b52fa02 Serializer/Driver: serialize comments to separate .swiftdoc files
The driver infers the filename from the module file by replacing the extension,
and passes the explicit path to the swiftdoc file to the frontend. But there
is no option in the driver to control emission of swiftdoc (it is always
emitted, and name is always inferred from the swiftmodule name).

The swiftdoc file consists of a single table that maps USRs to {brief comment,
raw comment}. In order to look up a comment for decl we generate the USR
first. We hope that the performance hit will not be that bad, because most
declarations come from Clang. The advantage of this design is that the
swiftdoc file is not locked to the swiftmodule file, and can be updated,
replaced, and even localized.

ef78e2811a Code completion: make sure to always emit a diagnostic so that ASTContext is
marked as erroneous

This is important so that other parts of the compiler (e.g., AST verifier) are
less strict about AST invariants.

Alternatively, we could make sure to emit a diagnostic in the parser when we
consume the code completion token, but chasing every place where we do it now
(and remembering to do this in future) does not scale well.

0d483cdd88 [driver] Emit real diagnostics in the driver and integrated frontend instead of just printing to stderr.
Added DiagnosticsDriver.def and DiagnosticsDriver.h for driver-only diagnostics.

DiagnosticsFrontend.{def,h}.)

Added a DiagnosticEngine& to Compilation, so that it can emit diagnostics for
events which occur while performing Jobs.

Replaced all of the locations where we were manually printing error messages to
emitting real diagnostics, adding diagnostics if necessary.

Updated Driver::buildCompilation() so that it fails early if any errors were
encountered.

Updated test/Driver/actions.swift to pass a -module-name for multi-input tests.

11008f0ed1 Split diagnostics out into separate files.
Thanks to the way we've set up our diagnostics engine, there's not actually
a reason for /everything/ to get rebuilt when /one/ diagnostic changes.
I've split them up into five categories for now: Parse, Sema, SIL, IRGen,
and Frontend, plus a set of "Common" diagnostics that are used in multiple
areas of the compiler. We can massage this later.

No functionality change, but should speed up compile times!
