69479933df [c-interop] Rename @_extern to @extern
Now the feature is gated by experimental feature flag.
It's not shipped in any language release, so this rename should be fine.

f3ff561c6f [NFC] add llvm namespace to Optional and None
This is phase-1 of switching from llvm::Optional to std::optional in the
next rebranch. llvm::Optional was removed from upstream LLVM, so we need
to migrate off rather soon. On Darwin, std::optional, and llvm::Optional
have the same layout, so we don't need to be as concerned about ABI
beyond the name mangling. `llvm::Optional` is only returned from one
function in
```
getStandardTypeSubst(StringRef TypeName,
                     bool allowConcurrencyManglings);
```
It's the return value, so it should not impact the mangling of the
function, and the layout is the same as `std::optional`, so it should be
mostly okay. This function doesn't appear to have users, and the ABI was
already broken 2 years ago for concurrency and no one seemed to notice
so this should be "okay".

I'm doing the migration incrementally so that folks working on main can
cherry-pick back to the release/5.9 branch. Once 5.9 is done and locked
away, then we can go through and finish the replacement. Since `None`
and `Optional` show up in contexts where they are not `llvm::None` and
`llvm::Optional`, I'm preparing the work now by going through and
removing the namespace unwrapping and making the `llvm` namespace
explicit. This should make it fairly mechanical to go through and
replace llvm::Optional with std::optional, and llvm::None with
std::nullopt. It's also a change that can be brought onto the
release/5.9 with minimal impact. This should be an NFC change.

f1a8740ba5 AST: Only treat @backDeployed functions as fragile on platforms with an active attribute.
Previously, typechecking and SILGen would treat a function body as fragile as long as the declaration had a `@backDeployed` attribute, regardless of the platform specified by the attribute. This was overly conservative since back deployed functions are only emitted into the client on specific platforms. Now a `@backDeployed` function can reference non-`public` declarations on the platforms it is resilient on:

```
@backDeployed(before: iOS 15)
public func foo() {
  #if os(iOS)
  // Fragile; this code may be emitted into the client.
  #else
  // Resilient; this code won't ever be exposed to clients.
  #endif
}
```

8bc80c146a [SILGen] Avoid delaying functions with user-written code
Previously we would delay the emission of
lazy variable getters and stored property
initializers for property wrapper backing storage.
This could lead to their definitions being dropped
if unused, meaning that we wouldn't run the
mandatory diagnostics passes over them.

Fix the logic such that we consider such cases as
having user-written code, and account for a couple
of cases where we can delay emission where we
didn't previously. There are more cases we can
handle here, but I'm leaving that as future work
for now, as `emitOrDelayFunction` is currently
only used for a handful of SILDeclRef kinds.

This is a source breaking change, but only for
invalid (albeit unused) code.

6b61e37364 SILGen: Function availability for linkage should use @_backDeploy OS version if present.
When computing the availability of a `SILFunction` for linkage the OS version specified in the `@_backDeploy` attribute should be preferred over the version in the `@available` attribute. This ensures that the corresponding symbol is weakly linked when deploying to older OSes than the back deploy "before" version.

2e865c8098 prevent serialization of allocating inits for actors
A public designated initializer of a class would have its allocating
entry-point serialized in the module, meaning with `-O` that entry-point
can get inlined into programs linking against that module. Once that
entry-point is inlined, the program will _require_ that it remain non-delegating,
because it will depend on the 2nd entry-point (for actual initializing) to be in the
library.

As a result of this change, public initializers of an actor should be resilient in a
library, whether their underlying implementation is delegating or not.

74503f00ff Use the distributed thunk for non-distributed protocol requirements (#59513)
When a distributed-actor-isolated witness is provided for a
non-distributed-actor-isolated requirement, always hop to the
distributed thunk.

While here, mark distributed thunks as being `final`, to ensure that
we always statically call them vs. trying to retrieve them from the
vtable (since they aren't in the vtable).

27787e0721 SIL: @objc thunks should have private SIL linkage
Previously we gave them the same SIL linkage as the method, then changed
the LLVM IR linkage to 'internal' (which is roughly equivalent to
SIL 'private') in IRGen.

This would crash in the SIL verifier if an @objc method was
'@_alwaysEmitIntoClient'. While such a combination of attributes is
silly since '@objc' methods are intrinsically part of the ABI, we
should not crash in this case.

The simplest fix is to just set the linkage to private at the SIL
level, avoiding the IRGen hack entirely.

6a020f8f15 Stabilize and simplify SIL linkage and serialization
The main point of this change is to make sure that a shared function always has a body: both, in the optimizer pipeline and in the swiftmodule file.
This is important because the compiler always needs to emit code for a shared function. Shared functions cannot be referenced from outside the module.
In several corner cases we missed to maintain this invariant which resulted in unresolved-symbol linker errors.

As side-effect of this change we can drop the shared_external SIL linkage and the IsSerializable flag, which simplifies the serialization and linkage concept.

b246edd25a SIL: Private setters need at least hidden visibility for key paths in more cases.
My original fix only addressed the issue for when the property was exactly internal, so
we would still run into problems with keypaths and `private(set)` when `-enable-testing`
is on, or when referring to `public` properties with private setters from the same module.
This generalizes the rule, so that the setter entry point for any property with
at least internal visibility also has at least internal visibility, even if the setter
is semantically less visible. Fixes rdar://78523318.
