7cceaff5f3 SIL: don't print operand types in textual SIL
Type annotations for instruction operands are omitted, e.g.

```
  %3 = struct $S(%1, %2)
```

Operand types are redundant anyway and were only used for sanity checking in the SIL parser.

But: operand types _are_ printed if the definition of the operand value was not printed yet.
This happens:

* if the block with the definition appears after the block where the operand's instruction is located

* if a block or instruction is printed in isolation, e.g. in a debugger

The old behavior can be restored with `-Xllvm -sil-print-types`.
This option is added to many existing test files which check for operand types in their check-lines.

5c2cd18a5b Teach SILGen to try to peephole a function conversion into the emission of
a closure expression, then don't actually do it.  The long term plan is
to actually do this, which should just be a matter of taking some of the
code out of reabstraction thunk emission and using it in prolog/epilog/return
emission.  In the short term, the goal is just to get the conversion
information down to the closure emitter so that we can see that we're
erasing into an `@isolated(any)` type and then actually erase the
closure's isolation properly instead of relying on type-based erasure,
which can't handle parameter/capture isolation correctly.

69e4b95fb8 SIL: Model noescape partial_applys with ownership in OSSA.
Although nonescaping closures are representationally trivial pointers to their
on-stack context, it is useful to model them as borrowing their captures, which
allows for checking correct use of move-only values across the closure, and
lets us model the lifetime dependence between a closure and its captures without
an ad-hoc web of `mark_dependence` instructions.

During ownership elimination, We eliminate copy/destroy_value instructions and
end the partial_apply's lifetime with an explicit dealloc_stack as before,
for compatibility with existing IRGen and non-OSSA aware passes.

6a020f8f15 Stabilize and simplify SIL linkage and serialization
The main point of this change is to make sure that a shared function always has a body: both, in the optimizer pipeline and in the swiftmodule file.
This is important because the compiler always needs to emit code for a shared function. Shared functions cannot be referenced from outside the module.
In several corner cases we missed to maintain this invariant which resulted in unresolved-symbol linker errors.

As side-effect of this change we can drop the shared_external SIL linkage and the IsSerializable flag, which simplifies the serialization and linkage concept.

bc258d0de1 SILGen: Don't reabstract a member ref we're about to directly apply.
SILGenApply can work with a function value at any abstraction level, so if we're loading a member out of an
aggregate that's stored at a different abstraction level than the substituted abstraction level, we can
just apply it the way it is without reabstracting.

8c5737d1d5 [ownership] Change thin_to_thick function to always produce a none value.
It can already only accept values with none ownership and the merging of
ownership around ownership phis ensure that if we phi this with a partial_apply
or the like, we get the appropriate ownership on any such ownership phi values.

We are now out of SILGen emitting fewer destroy_value unnecessarily on
thin_to_thick functions. This changed some codegen and also forced me to update
some tests/fix AutoDiff.

I also deleted the DebugInfo test mandatoryinlining-wrongdebugscope.swift since:

1. It was depending on these destroys being there.

2. Given the need to improve the test @aprantl suggested I just eliminate it
solving the test failure for me.

702c1bc5e8 [arc] Change guaranteed arc opts to be based on SemanticARCOpts and move from Diagnostic pipeline -> Onone pipeline.
The pass is already not being run during normal compilation scenarios today
since it bails on OSSA except in certain bit-rot situations where a test wasn't
updated and so was inadvertently invoking the pass. I discovered these while
originally just trying to eliminate the pass from the diagnostic pipeline. The
reason why I am doing this in one larger change is that I found there were a
bunch of sil tests inadvertently relying on guaranteed arc opts to eliminate
copy traffic. So, if I just removed this and did this in two steps, I would
basically be unoptimizing then re-optimizing the tests.

Some notes:

1. The new guaranteed arc opts is based off of SemanticARCOpts and runs only on
   ossa. Specifically, in this new pass, we just perform simple
   canonicalizations that do not involve any significant analysis. Some
   examples: a copy_value all of whose uses are destroys. This will do what the
   original pass did and more without more compile time. I did a conservative
   first approximation, but we can probably tune this a bit.

2. the reason why I am doing this now is that I was trying to eliminate the
   enable-ownership-stripping-after-serialization flag and discovered that the
   test opaque_value_mandatory implicitly depends on this since sil-opt by
   default was the only place left in the compiler with that option set to false
   by default. So I am eliminating that dependency before I land the larger
   change.

f854547c55 [ownership] Enable ownership verification by default.
I also removed the -verify-sil-ownership flag in favor of a disable flag
-disable-sil-ownership-verifier. I used this on only two tests that still need
work to get them to pass with ownership, but whose problems are well understood,
small corner cases. I am going to fix them in follow on commits. I detail them
below:

1. SILOptimizer/definite_init_inout_super_init.swift. This is a test case where
DI is supposed to error. The only problem is that we crash before we error since
the code emitting by SILGen to trigger this error does not pass ownership
invariants. I have spoken with JoeG about this and he suggested that I fix this
earlier in the compiler. Since we do not run the ownership verifier without
asserts enabled, this should not affect compiler users. Given that it has
triggered DI errors previously I think it is safe to disable ownership here.

2. PrintAsObjC/extensions.swift. In this case, the signature generated by type
lowering for one of the thunks here uses an unsafe +0 return value instead of
doing an autorelease return. The ownership checker rightly flags this leak. This
is going to require either an AST level change or a change to TypeLowering. I
think it is safe to turn this off since it is such a corner case that it was
found by a test that has nothing to do with it.

7c9dfad65c [silgen] Fix a bug where when reabstracting T:P -> P we wrapped a +0 value in an init_existential_ref.
Found via the ownership verifier running on IRGen/outlined_copy_addr.swift.

We treat initialization of an existential as a +1 operation, so there is the
possibility that we would have double destroyed a value. In fixing this I
followed what manageOpaqueValue did on the first code path, since it is handling
this case correctly (and using the SGFContext to do so to boot!).

To ensure this is tested, I enabled ownership verification on the test and since
it seems to be exposing a SILGen code path that we aren't testing currently,
converted it into a SILGen test.

ebe769a58c SIL: Stop imploding parameter list into a single value with opaque abstraction pattern
The constraint solver support for the Swift 3 function type behavior
has been removed, so it's no longer possible to pun the same value as
both a function taking multiple parameters and a function taking a
single tuple argument.

This means the entire parameter list is no longer a target for
substitution as a single value, so the most general form of a function
value passes each parameter indirectly instead of passing a single
tuple parameter indirectly.

80a7ae100b SIL: Treat __shared and __owned just like inout when lowering function types
Even with an opaque abstraction pattern, we must explode a
parameter list containing __shared and __owned elements.

Otherwise, we produce invalid lowered SIL types.

Note that this is already an issue, because the stdlib has a
handful of declarations using __owned.

560c22b18e [tests] Verify the libSyntax tree on SILGen tests
The SILGen testsuite consists of valid Swift code covering most language
features. We use these tests to verify that no unknown nodes are in the
file's libSyntax tree. That way we will (hopefully) catch any future
changes or additions to the language which are not implemented in
libSyntax.

cb80f65f1e Remove plus_zero_test,plus_one_test from lit tests since they are no longer needed.
I am going to leave in the infrastructure around this just in case. But there is
no reason to keep this in the tests themselves. I can always just revert this
and I don't think merge conflicts are likely due to previous work I did around
the tooling for this.

6f4e87ad3f [+0-all-args] Be explicit about the module-name for tests that have plus_zero_* counterparts.
Otherwise, the plus_zero_* tests will have plus_zero_* as a module name, causing
massive FileCheck problems.

The reason why I am doing it with the main tests is so that I can use it when
syncing branches/etc.

f08823757a IUO: Generate Optional<T> rather than ImplicitlyUnwrappedOptional<T>.
Stop creating ImplicitlyUnwrappedOptional<T> so that we can remove it
from the type system.

Enable the code that generates disjunctions for Optional<T> and
rewrites expressions based on the original declared type being 'T!'.

Most of the changes supporting this were previously merged to master,
but some things were difficult to merge to master without actually
removing IUOs from the type system:
- Dynamic member lookup and dynamic subscripting
- Changes to ensure the bridging peephole still works

Past commits have attempted to retain as much fidelity with how we
were printing things as possible. There are some cases where we still
are not printing things the same way:
- In diagnostics we will print '?' rather than '!'
- Some SourceKit and Code Completion output where we print a Type
  rather than Decl.

Things like module printing via swift-ide-test attempt to print '!'
any place that we now have Optional types that were declared as IUOs.

There are some diagnostics regressions related to the fact that we can
no longer "look through" IUOs. For the same reason some output and
functionality changes in Code Completion. I have an idea of how we can
restore these, and have opened a bug to investigate doing so.

There are some small source compatibility breaks that result from
this change:
- Results of dynamic lookup that are themselves declared IUO can in
  rare circumstances be inferred differently. This shows up in
  test/ClangImporter/objc_parse.swift, where we have
    var optStr = obj.nsstringProperty
  Rather than inferring optStr to be 'String!?', we now infer this to
  be 'String??', which is in line with the expectations of SE-0054.
  The fact that we were only inferring the outermost IUO to be an
  Optional in Swift 4 was a result of the incomplete implementation of
  SE-0054 as opposed to a particular design. This should rarely cause
  problems since in the common-case of actually using the property rather
  than just assigning it to a value with inferred type, we will behave
  the same way.
- Overloading functions with inout parameters strictly by a difference
  in optionality (i.e. Optional<T> vs. ImplicitlyUnwrappedOptional<T>)
  will result in an error rather than the diagnostic that was added
  in Swift 4.1.
- Any place where '!' was being used where it wasn't supposed to be
  allowed by SE-0054 will now treat the '!' as if it were '?'.
  Swift 4.1 generates warnings for these saying that putting '!'
  in that location is deprecated. These locations include for example
  typealiases or any place where '!' is nested in another type like
  `Int!?` or `[Int!]`.

This commit effectively means ImplicitlyUnwrappedOptional<T> is no
longer part of the type system, although I haven't actually removed
all of the code dealing with it yet.

ImplicitlyUnwrappedOptional<T> is is dead, long live implicitly
unwrapped Optional<T>!

Resolves rdar://problem/33272674.

d369aa4070 Support @noescape SIL function types. (#12420)
Support for @noescape SILFunctionTypes.

These are the underlying SIL changes necessary to implement the new
closure capture ABI.

Note: This includes a change to function name mangling that
primarily affects reabstraction thunks.

The new ABI will allow stack allocation of non-escaping closures as a
simple optimization.

The new ABI, and the stack allocation optimization, also require
closure context to be @guaranteed. That will be implemented as the
next step.

Many SIL passes pattern match partial_apply sequences. These all
needed to be fixed to handle the convert_function that SILGen now
emits. The conversion is now needed whenever a function declaration,
which has an escaping type, is passed into a @NoEscape argument.

In addition to supporting new SIL patterns, some optimizations like
inlining and SIL combine are now stronger which could perturb some
benchmark results.

These underlying SIL changes should be merged now to avoid conflicting
with other work. Minor benchmark discrepancies can be investigated as part of
the stack-allocation work.

* Add a noescape attribute to SILFunctionType.

And set this attribute correctly when lowering formal function types to SILFunctionTypes based on @escaping.

This will allow stack allocation of closures, and unblock a related ABI change.

* Flip the polarity on @noescape on SILFunctionType and clarify that
we don't default it.

* Emit withoutActuallyEscaping using a convert_function instruction.

It might be better to use a specialized instruction here, but I'll leave that up to Andy.

Andy: And I'll leave that to Arnold who is implementing SIL support for guaranteed ownership of thick function types.

* Fix SILGen and SIL Parsing.

* Fix the LoadableByAddress pass.

* Fix ClosureSpecializer.

* Fix performance inliner constant propagation.

* Fix the PartialApplyCombiner.

* Adjust SILFunctionType for thunks.

* Add mangling for @noescape/@escaping.

* Fix test cases for @noescape attribute, mangling, convert_function, etc.

* Fix exclusivity test cases.

* Fix AccessEnforcement.

* Fix SILCombine of convert_function -> apply.

* Fix ObjC bridging thunks.

* Various MandatoryInlining fixes.

* Fix SILCombine optimizeApplyOfConvertFunction.

* Fix more test cases after merging (again).

* Fix ClosureSpecializer. Hande convert_function cloning.

Be conservative when combining convert_function. Most of our code doesn't know
how to deal with function type mismatches yet.

* Fix MandatoryInlining.

Be conservative with function conversion. The inliner does not yet know how to
cast arguments or convert between throwing forms.

* Fix PartialApplyCombiner.

af11149550 SIL: Implement the [serialized] vs [serializable] distinction
This generalizes a hack where re-abstraction thunks become fragile on contact
with fragile functions.

The old policy was:

- [fragile] functions always serialized
- [reabstraction_thunk] transitively referenced from fragile always serialized

The new policy is:

- [serialized] functions always serialized
- [serializable] functions transitively referenced from serialized functions
  are always serialized
- Most kinds of thunks can now be [serializable], allowing them to be shared
  between serialized and non-serialized code without any issues, as long as the
  body of the thunk is sufficiently "simple" (doesn't reference private
  symbols or performs direct access to resilient types)

34ec32bc14 [semantic-arc] Handle the rest of the unqualified mem opts in SILGen.
Keep in mind that these are approximations that will not impact correctness
since in all cases I ensured that the SIL will be the same after the
OwnershipModelEliminator has run. The cases that I was unsure of I commented
with SEMANTIC ARC TODO. Once we have the verifier any confusion that may have
occurred here will be dealt with.

e249fd680e Destructure result types in SIL function types.
Similarly to how we've always handled parameter types, we
now recursively expand tuples in result types and separately
determine a result convention for each result.

The most important code-generation change here is that
indirect results are now returned separately from each
other and from any direct results.  It is generally far
better, when receiving an indirect result, to receive it
as an independent result; the caller is much more likely
to be able to directly receive the result in the address
they want to initialize, rather than having to receive it
in temporary memory and then copy parts of it into the
target.

The most important conceptual change here that clients and
producers of SIL must be aware of is the new distinction
between a SILFunctionType's *parameters* and its *argument
list*.  The former is just the formal parameters, derived
purely from the parameter types of the original function;
indirect results are no longer in this list.  The latter
includes the indirect result arguments; as always, all
the indirect results strictly precede the parameters.
Apply instructions and entry block arguments follow the
argument list, not the parameter list.

A relatively minor change is that there can now be multiple
direct results, each with its own result convention.
This is a minor change because I've chosen to leave
return instructions as taking a single operand and
apply instructions as producing a single result; when
the type describes multiple results, they are implicitly
bound up in a tuple.  It might make sense to split these
up and allow e.g. return instructions to take a list
of operands; however, it's not clear what to do on the
caller side, and this would be a major change that can
be separated out from this already over-large patch.

Unsurprisingly, the most invasive changes here are in
SILGen; this requires substantial reworking of both call
emission and reabstraction.  It also proved important
to switch several SILGen operations over to work with
RValue instead of ManagedValue, since otherwise they
would be forced to spuriously "implode" buffers.

c0cdbc4510 SILPrinter: only print simplified demangled names in comments.
For long names this is easier to read and in most cases the omitted information can be seen in the actual SIL code.
With the option -Xllvm -sil-full-demangle the old behavior can be restored.
