4ef29e57af [cast-optimizer] Properly handle conditional bridged casts in optimizeBridgedSwiftToObjCCast
If there is a conditional bridged cast from a swift type to an objc type and this cast happens in two stages, where:
- in the firs stage the Swift type is casted to its bridged ObjC class (e.g. String to NSString) and
- in the second stage there is a downcast to a subclass of a bridged ObjC class (e.g. NSString to MyString)

then the second stage should use a conditional cast.

62e1944d7b [cast-optimizer] Bail out on a conditional downcast to a subclass of a bridged ObjC class
This is very conservative fix for rdar://problem/32316838.
A more aggressive fix would introduce a conditional cast.

4e9851b032 Don't classify bridging casts as WillSucceed if the object-to-value cast can fail.
When casting from an object type to a bridged Swift value type, classifyDynamicCast would use the cast classification for the target type's bridged object type, which would be trivially WillSucceed for thinks like NSNumber-to-Int or NSError-to-SomeError, even though the bridging itself could fail. Fixing this fixes SR-2920|rdar://problem/31404281.

45c2c4af0e Re-factoring: Get rid of useless arguments in "create*Apply" functions
Till now createApply, createTryApply, createPartialApply were taking some arguments like SubstCalleeType or ResultType. But these arguments are redundant and can be easily derived from other arguments of these functions. There is no need to put the burden of their computation on the clients of these APIs.

The removal of these redundant parameters simplifies the APIs and reduces the possibility of providing mismatched types by clients, which often happened in the past.

492f5cd35a [gardening] Remove redundant repetition of type names (DRY): RepeatedTypeName foo = dyn_cast<RepeatedTypeName>(bar)
Replace `NameOfType foo = dyn_cast<NameOfType>(bar)` with DRY version `auto foo = dyn_cast<NameOfType>(bar)`.

The DRY auto version is by far the dominant form already used in the repo, so this PR merely brings the exceptional cases (redundant repetition form) in line with the dominant form (auto form).

See the [C++ Core Guidelines](https://github.com/isocpp/CppCoreGuidelines/blob/master/CppCoreGuidelines.md#es11-use-auto-to-avoid-redundant-repetition-of-type-names) for a general discussion on why to use `auto` to avoid redundant repetition of type names.

30a50f9ef0 [sil-cast-optimizer] Fix a silly bug related to canonical types
This bug occurs in real projects, when type aliases are involved.
The test-case is a bit hard to provide. I’ll try to provide it later, if I managed to reduce the original project to a small test-case.
But the fix is very obvious.

289428ca55 SILOptimizer: Always use Shared linkage for specializations of serialized things
With -sil-serialize-all, we might deserialize and specialize
a private function from multiple TUs which are then linked
together.

Since private symbols have unique mangling, this is fine.

It's hard to make a test for this since it only happens with
-sil-serialize-all, which I'd like to kill soon anyway.

change is NFC.

4ed09b4a73 SILOptimizer: Remove some workarounds for old problems
It looks like the devirtualizer used to have problems computing
method types in the presence of generic substitutions, covariant
returns and other things, so it would bail if a perticular set
of pre-conditions was not met on the types of original method call
and the devirtualized method call.

I don't think any of this is necessary anymore. If this patch
introduces any regressions, we need to fix the root cause instead
of re-introducing this logic.

3dcaba5765 [sil-cast-optimizer] Fix a bridging related bug
- Try harder when looking for an implementation of _bridgeToObjectiveC. Consider extensions, super types, protocols, etc.
- If it cannot be found, simply bail instead of asserting.

No test-case is provided, because it is a bit difficult to create a self-contained test. The issue only happens when there are overlays and multiple modules in play. I'll try to come up with a test-case later.

1abeddcc5d [SILType] SILFunctionConventions API.
Separate formal lowered types from SIL types.
The SIL type of an argument will depend on the SIL module's conventions.
The module conventions are determined by the SIL stage and LangOpts.

Almost NFC, but specialized manglings are broken incidentally as a result of
fixes to the way passes handle book-keeping of aruments. The mangler is fixed in
the subsequent commit.

Otherwise, NFC is intended, but quite possible do to rewriting the logic in many
places.

ea1f804207 [semantic-sil] Eliminate ValueOwnershipKind::Any from SILPHIArguments in Semantic SIL.
Most of this involved sprinkling ValueOwnershipKind::Owned in many places. In
some of these places, I am sure I was too cavalier and I expect some of them to
be trivial. The verifier will help me to track those down.

On the other hand, I do expect there to be some places where we are willing to
accept guaranteed+trivial or owned+trivial. In those cases, I am going to
provide an aggregate ValueOwnershipKind that will then tell SILArgument that it
should disambiguate using the type. This will eliminate the ackwardness from
such code.

I am going to use a verifier to fix such cases.

This commit also begins the serialization of ValueOwnershipKind of arguments,
but does not implement parsing of value ownership kinds. That and undef are the
last places that we still use ValueOwnershipKind::Any.

830e1c36d4 [sil-cast-optimizer] Fix casting between Swift and CF types
If a Swift type T needs to be casted to a CF type, then we first cast T to its bridged NS type and then ref_cast the result to a corresponding CF type.
For example, if we need to cast String to CFString, we first cast String to NSString and then ref_cast the NSString to CFString.

064fda52d2 AST: Remove Type::getCanonicalTypeOrNull()
Not sure why but this was another "toxic utility method".
Most of the usages fell into one of three categories:

- The base value was always non-null, so we could just call
getCanonicalType() instead, making intent more explicit

- The result was being compared for equality, so we could
skip canonicalization and call isEqual() instead, removing
  some boilerplate

- Utterly insane code that made no sense

There were only a couple of legitimate uses, and even there
open-coding the conditional null check made the code clearer.

Also while I'm at it, make the SIL open archetypes tracker
more typesafe by passing around ArchetypeType * instead of
Type and CanType.
