1437acdf22 Implement conditional feature suppression.
Our standard conception of suppressible features assumes we should
always suppress the feature if the compiler doesn't support it.
This presumes that there's no harm in suppressing the feature, and
that's a fine assumption for features that are just adding information
or suppressing new diagnostics.  Features that are semantically
relevant, maybe even ABI-breaking, are not a good fit for this,
and so instead of reprinting the decl with the feature suppressed,
we just have to hide the decl entirely.  The missing middle here
is that it's sometimes useful to be able to adopt a type change
to an existing declaration, and we'd like older compilers to be
able to use the older version of the declaration.  Making a type
change this way is, of course, only really acceptable for
@_alwaysEmitIntoClient declarations; but those represent quite a
few declarations that we'd like to be able to refine the types of.

Rather than trying to come up with heuristics based on
@_alwaysEmitIntoClient or other sources of information, this design
just requires the declaration to opt in with a new attribute,
@_allowFeatureSuppress.  When a declaration opts in to suppression
for a conditionally-suppressible feature, the printer uses the
suppression serially-print-with-downgraded-options approach;
otherwise it uses the print-only-if-feature-is-available approach.

500d2e5840 [Dependency Scanning] Only omit Clang VFS overlays from Swift dependencies if unused by Clang dependencies
We previously blanket omitted `-Xcc -vfsoverlay` flags from Swift module dependencies' command-line recipes. This is incorrect as the Swift module must have an exact matching VFS overlay that its Clang dependencies use, in order to load said Clang dependnecies successfully and resolve their headers as expected and as was done during the scan.

a396fcc43a LangOptions: tie NoncopyableGenerics to build
There were a handful of different places trying to enable the
feature-flag when the stdlib has been built with the feature enabled.
This change cleans that up and unifies it in one spot for all sub-tools
like sil-opt and sil-func-extractor to pick-up.

d51c58a6f9 [Basic] hasFeature should succeed for promoted language features
Merge `$<Feature>` and `hasFeature` implementations.
  - `$<Feature>` did not support upcoming language features.
  - `hasFeature` did not support promoted language features and also
    didn't take into account `Options` in `Features.def`.

Remove `Options` entirely, it was always one of three cases:
  - `true`
  - `langOpts.hasFeature`
  - `hasSwiftSwiftParser`

Since `LangOptions::hasFeature` should always be used anyway, it's no
longer necessary. `hasSwiftSwiftParser` can be special cased when adding
the default promoted language features (by removing those features).

a363603c14 [Playgrounds] Add a new -playground-option flag to control which transforms to apply (#69355)
Generalize the existing `-playground-high-performance` flag into a set of options that control various aspects of the "playground transformation" in Sema.

This commit adds the first two of those controllable parts of the transform, matching what the existing flag already controls (scope entry/exit and function arguments), but in an extensible way. The intent is for this to be a scalable way to control a larger set of upcoming options.

So instead of a single flag, we represent the playground transform options as a set of well-defined choices, with a new `-playground-option` flag to individually enable or disable those options (when prefixed with "No", the corresponding option is instead disabled). Enabling an already-enabled option or disabling an already-disabled option is a no-op.

For compatibility, the existing `-playground-high-performance` flag causes "expensive" transforms to be disabled, as before. We can also leave it as a useful shorthand to include or exclude new options even in the future, based on their cost. There is a comment on the old function indicating that new code should use the more general form, but it remains for clients like LLDB until they can switch over.

The machinery for implementing the playground options is similar to how `Features.def` works, with a new `PlaygroundOptions.def` that defines the supported playground transform options.  Each playground definition specifies the name and description, as well as whether the option is enabled by default, and whether it's also enabled in the "high performance" case.

Adding a new option in the future only requires adding it to `PlaygroundOptions.def`, deciding whether it should be on or off by default, deciding whether it should also be on or off in `-playground-high-performance` mode, and checking for its presence from the appropriate places in `PlaygroundTransform.cpp`.

Note that this is intended to control the types of user-visible results that the invoker of the compiler wants, from an externally detectable standpoint. Other flags, such as whether or not to use the extended form of the callbacks, remain as experimental features, since those deal with the mechanics and not the desired observed behavior.

f3ff561c6f [NFC] add llvm namespace to Optional and None
This is phase-1 of switching from llvm::Optional to std::optional in the
next rebranch. llvm::Optional was removed from upstream LLVM, so we need
to migrate off rather soon. On Darwin, std::optional, and llvm::Optional
have the same layout, so we don't need to be as concerned about ABI
beyond the name mangling. `llvm::Optional` is only returned from one
function in
```
getStandardTypeSubst(StringRef TypeName,
                     bool allowConcurrencyManglings);
```
It's the return value, so it should not impact the mangling of the
function, and the layout is the same as `std::optional`, so it should be
mostly okay. This function doesn't appear to have users, and the ABI was
already broken 2 years ago for concurrency and no one seemed to notice
so this should be "okay".

I'm doing the migration incrementally so that folks working on main can
cherry-pick back to the release/5.9 branch. Once 5.9 is done and locked
away, then we can go through and finish the replacement. Since `None`
and `Optional` show up in contexts where they are not `llvm::None` and
`llvm::Optional`, I'm preparing the work now by going through and
removing the namespace unwrapping and making the `llvm` namespace
explicit. This should make it fairly mechanical to go through and
replace llvm::Optional with std::optional, and llvm::None with
std::nullopt. It's also a change that can be brought onto the
release/5.9 with minimal impact. This should be an NFC change.

19c7bb5a22 Driver: add support for baremetal targets
This allows building the Swift standard library for targets which may
not have an actual OS running.  This is identified by the OS field in
the target triple being set to `none`.

The old API will be deprecated in the rebranch.
To avoid merge conflicts, use the new API already in the main branch.

9df77e9932 Add a stub constructor for LangOptions.
Having an out-of-line definition for the LangOptions constructor makes
it easier to enable experimental features one at a time for a build,
without rebuilding everything.

a317fad88d Add -enable-upcoming-feature X command-line argument.
Introduce the `-enable-upcoming-feature X` command-line argument to
allow one to opt into features that will be enabled in an upcoming language
mode. Stage in several features this way (`ConciseMagicFile`,
`ForwardTrailingClosures`, `BareSlashRegexLiterals`).

2fbe202146 Introduce FUTURE_FEATURE definitions for features staged in Swift 6.
Using the same feature set logic as experimental features, provide
feature names for "future" features, which are changes that will
become available with Swift 6. Use the feature check when determining
whether to implementation the feature instead of a language version
check, and map existing flags for these features (when available) over
to the feature set.

As an internal implementation detail, this makes it easier to reason
about when specific features are enabled (or not). If we decide to go
with piecemeal adoption support for features, it can provide an
alternative path to enabling features that feeds this mechanism.

6d82448dc8 Add -enable-experimental-feature X for experimental features.
Experimental features can only be enabled in non-production (+Asserts)
builds. They can be detected with `hasFeature` in the same manner as
"future" features.

The `-enable-experimental-feature X` flag will also look for future
features by that name, so that when an experimental feature becomes an
accepted future feature, it will still be enabled in the same manner.

Switch variadic generics over to this approach, eliminating the
specific LangOption for it.

114b4d96e4 [next] Use new VersionTuple API
The `VersionTuple` API was changed llvm/llvm-project
219672b8dd06c4765185fa3161c98437d49b4a1b to return `VersionTuple`
from `get*Version` rather than pass in major, minor, and subminor output
parameters. Update uses to the new API.

Note that `getMacOSXVersion` is slightly different in that it returns a
boolean while taking a `VersionTuple` output parameter to match its
previous behaviour. There doesn't seem to be any use that actually
checks this value though, so we should either update the API to return
an `Optional` and actually check it *or* remove the "failure" case and
return a `VersionTuple` like all the others.

54c38cbb71 Fix and generalize the printing of suppressible features,
and make `@_unsafeInheritExecutor` a suppressible feature.

Some language features are required in order to parse a
declaration correctly, but some can safely be ignored.
For the latter, we'd like the module interface to simply
contain the declaration twice, once with the feature and
once without.  Some basic support for that was already
added for the SpecializeAttributeWithAvailability feature,
but it didn't interact correctly with required features
that might be checked in the same `#if` clause (it simply
introduced an `#else`), and it wasn't really set up to
allow multiple features to be handled this way.  There
were also a few other places that weren't updated to
handle this, presumably because they never coincided
with a `@_specialize` attribute.

Introduce the concept of a suppressible feature, which
is anything that the ASTPrinter can modify the current
PrintOptions in order to suppress.  Restructure the
printing of compatibility checks so that we can print
the body multiple times with different settings.
Print required feature checks in an outer `#if...#endif`,
then perform a separate `#if...#else...#endif` within
if we have suppressible features.  If there are multiple
suppressible features, check for the most recent first,
on the assumption that it will imply the rest; then
perform subsequent checks with an `#elsif` clause.

This should be a far more solid foundation on which to
build compatibility checks in the future.

`@_unsafeInheritExecutor` needs to be suppressible
because it's been added to some rather important
existing APIs.  Simply suppressing the entire decl will
effectively block old tools from using a new SDK to
build many existing projects (if they've adopted
`async`).  Dropping the attribute changes the semantics
of these functions, but only if the compiler features
the SE-0338 scheduling change; this is a very narrow
window of main-branch development builds of the tools,
none of which were officially released.

140c02466a Add -prefix-serialized-debugging-options (#39555)
This commit adds a new frontend flag that applies debug path prefixing to the
paths serialized in swiftmodule files. This makes it possible to use swiftmodule
files that have been built on different machines by applying the inverse map
when debugging, in a similar fashion to source path prefixing.

The inverse mapping in LLDB will be handled in a follow up PR.

Second pass at #39138

Tests updated to handle windows path separators.

58d67be645 Add ClangImporterOptions::getRemappedExtraArgs
This commit adds a function to remap the clang arguments passed
during compilation. This is intented to be shared across the
Swift compiler and LLDB to apply path remapping for debug info
paths.

a6a9dfede0 Add option to control access note diagnostics
This will allow teams writing access notes to use -Raccess-note=all-validate to check that their access notes are correct, or teams working around problems to use -Raccess-note=failures or -Raccess-note=none to suppress diagnostics.

aa139a101c [Module interface] Use features in module interface generation.
When generating a module interface, emit `#if` around any declarations
that are tied to specific, named language features. This allows module
interfaces to be processed by older Swift compilers that do not
support these newer features, such as async/await or actors.

The amount of effort required to correctly handle a new kind of
feature varies somewhat drastically based on the feature itself. The
"simple" case is where a particular declaration can only exist if a
feature is available. For example, and `async` declaration is fairly
easy to handle; a `@_marker` protocol's conformances are not.
