Check whether the user has provided a valid
identifier when parsing the options. Also make
ImplicitImportModuleNames a private member of
FrontendOptions to prevent mutation after being
parsed.
* [Diagnostics] Turn educational notes on-by-default
* [Diagnostics] Only include educational notes in printed output if -print-educational-notes is passed
* Make -print-educational-notes a driver option
* [Diagnostics] Issue a printed remark if educational notes are available, but disabled
* [docs] Update educational notes documentation and add a contributing guide
* [Diagnostics] Cleanup PrintingDiagnosticConsumer handling of edu notes
* Revert "[Diagnostics] Issue a printed remark if educational notes are available, but disabled"
For now, don't notify users if edu notes are available but disabled. This decision can be reevaluated later.
Replace it with the "legacy semantic queries" bit. The remaining client
of this bit is SourceKit, which appears to require this bit be set
conditionally so certain semantic property wrapper requests return
a sentinel value.
We should migrate these requests to a syntactic interface as soon as
possible.

* [Diagnostics] Experimental diagnostic printing updates
This new style directly annotates small snippets of code with
error messages, highlights and fix-its. It also uses color more
effectively to highlight important segments.
* [Diagnostics] Stage educational notes and experimental formatting behind separate frontend flags
educational notes -> -enable-educational-notes
formatting -> -enable-experimental-diagnostic-formatting
* [Diagnostics] Refactor expensive line lookups in diag formatting
* [Diagnostics] Refactor some PrintingDiagnosticConsumer code into a flush method
* [Diag-Experimental-Formatting] Custom formatting for Xcode editor placeholders
* [Diag-Experimental-Formatting] Better and more consistent textual description of fix its
* [Diags-Experimental-Formatting] Handle lines with tab characters correctly when rendering highlights and messages
Tabs are converted to 2 spaces for display purposes.
* [Diag-Experimental-Formatting] Refactor byte-to-column mapping for efficiency
* [Diag-Experimental-Formatting] Fix line number indent calculation
* [Diag-Experimental-Formatting] Include indicators of insertions and deletions in the highlight line
Inserts are underlined by green '+' chars, deletions by red '-' chars.
* [Diag-Experimental-Formatting] Change color of indicator arrow for non-ASCII anchored messages
* [Diag-experimental-formatting] Make tests less sensitive to line numbering
* [Diag-Experimental-Formatting] Update tests to allow windows path separators
* [Diag-Experimental-Formatting] Bug fixes for the integrated REPL
Remove the `EvaluateConditionals` flags from the
parser, and instead query the source file.
This commit also changes ParserUnit such that it
doesn't evaluate #if conditions by default, as
none of its clients appear to require it. The
only client that wasn't explicitly disabling #if
evaluation and is processing the resulting AST is
swift-indent, so this commit also adds a test to
ensure it continues to work correctly with #if
decls.
Add flags for whether delayed body parsing or #if
condition evaluation is disabled, as well as
whether warnings should be suppressed. Then pass
down these flags from the frontend.
This is in preparation for the requestification of
source file parsing where the SourceFile will need
to be able to parse itself on demand.
Move the global PersistentParserState from
the CompilerInstance to the source file that code
completion is operating on, only hooking up the
state when it's needed. This will help make it
easier to requestify source file parsing.
The lifetime of the UnifiedStatsReporter was not entirely clear from context. Stick it in the CompilerInstance instead so it can live as long as the compile job.
It is critical that its lifetime be extended beyond that of the ASTContext, as the context may be torn down by the time code generation happens, but additional statistics are recorded during LLVM codegen.
e.g. Playground.
A single file script is like a single function body; the interface of
the file does not affect any other files.
So when a completion happens in a single file script, re-parse the whole
file. But we are still be able to reuse imported modules.

Add ExecuteSILPipelineRequest which executes a
pipeline plan on a given SIL (and possibly IRGen)
module. This serves as a top-level request for
the SILOptimizer that we'll be able to hang
dependencies off.
Rather than registering individual IRGen passes
when we want to execute them, store function
pointers to all the pass constructors on the
ASTContext. This will make it easier to requestify
the execution of pass pipelines.
Remove the option to switch off nested types tables. In a world where
re-entrant direct lookup will cause deserialization to fail (or worse),
disabling these tables will only lead to further instability in the
compiler.
We were previously doing this for the REPL, but
not for swift-ide-test. Move the assignment into
the frontend to make sure its always applied, and
inline `createREPLFile` while we're here.
Instead of interleaving typechecking and parsing
for SIL files, first parse the file for Swift
decls by skipping over any intermixed SIL decls.
Then we can perform type checking, and finally SIL
parsing where we now skip over Swift decls.
This is an intermediate step to requestifying the
parsing of a source file for its Swift decls.
The REPL was using the CompilerInstance to stash this parameter, then it would immediately move it into IRGen. Drop the setter and pass this data directly.
Rather than parsing all delayed bodies for
`-dump-parse` once we finish parsing, tell the
parser not to delay any bodies. This then allows
us to remove `DelayedDeclLists` from
PersistentParserState.
