33c15a04f9 [AST] Separate out good vs. bad uses of ArchetypeType::getNestedTypes().
The uses of this function that want *all* nested types now go through
an entry point getAllNestedTypes(), and will need to be removed to
support recursive protocol constraints.

The uses of this function that only want to see what's been expanded
so far---dumpers and verifiers, mainly---can use
getKnownNestedTypes(), which may change type but is a reasonable
operation to continue using.

f51b2d12c4 [SR-2209] Make a real AccessScope class and use it in access checking.
1. Add new AccessScope type that just wraps a plain DeclContext.
2. Propagate it into all uses of "ValueDecl::getFormalAccessScope".
3. Turn all operations that combine access scopes into methods on AccessScope.
4. Add the "private" flag to distinguish "private" from "fileprivate"
scope for top-level DeclContext.

b5511bd3ea [Serialization] (De-)serialize witnesses completely.
The witnesses in a NormalProtocolConformance have never been
completely serialized, because their substitutions involved a weird
mix of archetypes that blew up the deserialization code. So, only the
witness declarations themselves got serialized. Many clients (the type
checker, SourceKit, etc.) didn't need the extra information, but some
clients (e.g., the SIL optimizers) would end up recomputing this
information. Ick.

Now, serialize the complete Witness structure along with the AST,
including information about the synthetic environment, complete
substitutions, etc. This should obsolete some redundant code paths in
the SIL optimization infrastructure.

This (de-)serialization code takes a new-ish approach to serializing
the synthetic environment in that it avoids serializing any
archetypes. Rather, it maps everything back to interface types during
serialization, and deserialization forms a new generic environment
(with new archetypes!) on-the-fly, mapping deserialized types back
into that environment (and to those archetypes). This way, we don't
have to maintain identity of archetypes in the deserialization code,
and might get some better re-use of the archetypes.

99daad0f30 Rework witness matching for generic requirements.
Reimplement the witness matching logic used for generic requirements
so that it properly models the expectations required of the witness,
then captures the results in the AST. The new approach has a number of
advantages over the existing hacks:

* The constraint solver no longer requires hacks to try to tangle
together the innermost archetypes from the requirement with the
outer archetypes of the context of the protocol
conformance. Instead, we create a synthetic set of archetypes that
describes the requirement as it should be matched against
witnesses. This eliminates the infamous 'SelfTypeVar' hack.
* The type checker no longer records substitutions involving a weird
mix of archetypes from different contexts (see above), so it's
actually plausible to reason about the substitutions of a witness. A
new `Witness` class contains the declaration, substitutions, and all
other information required to interpret the witness.
* SILGen now uses the substitution information for witnesses when
building witness thunks, rather than computing all of it from
  scratch. ``substSelfTypeIntoProtocolRequirementType()` is now gone
(absorbed into the type checker, and improved from there), and the
witness-thunk emission code is simpler. A few other bits of SILGen
got simpler because the substitutions can now be trusted.
* Witness matching and thunk generation involving generic requirements
and nested generics now works, based on some work @slavapestov was
  already doing in this area.
* The AST verifier can now verify the archetypes that occur in witness substitutions.
* Although it's not in this commit, the `Witness` structure is
suitable for complete (de-)serialization, unlike the weird mix of
  archetypes previously present.

Fixes rdar://problem/24079818 and cleans up an area that's been messy
and poorly understood for a very, very long time.

b8ea509b15 Crash in a nice way if the GenericEnv is NULL
On every `pushScope` the generic environment of this scope is appended
to `GenericEnv`. If the pushed `DeclContext` isn't generic, `NULL` is
pushed leading to a crash only in `DenseMap::find` if some archetypes
escaped their generic context.

still work with partial errors.

a9c68c0736 AST: Remove archetype from AbstractTypeParamDecl
There's a bit of a hack to deal with generic typealiases, but
overall this makes things more logical.

This is the last big refactoring before we can allow constrained
extensions to make generic parameters concrete. All that remains
is a small set of changes to SIL type lowering, and retooling
some diagnostics in Sema.

1c1ab0b83a AST: Introduce new GenericEnvironment class
A GenericEnvironment stores the mapping between GenericTypeParamTypes
and context archetypes (or eventually, concrete types, once we allow
extensions to constrain a generic parameter to a concrete type).

The goals here are two-fold:

- Eliminate the GenericTypeParamDecl::getArchetype() method, and
  always use mapTypeIntoContext() instead

- Replace SILFunction::ContextGenericParams with a GenericEnvironment

This patch adds the new data type as well as serializer and AST
verifier support. but nothing else uses it yet.

Note that GenericSignature::get() now asserts if there are no
generic parameters, instead of returning null. This requires a
few tweaks here and there.

afdda3d107 Implement SE-0117.
One minor revision: this lifts the proposed restriction against
overriding a non-open method with an open one. On reflection,
that was inconsistent with the existing rule permitting non-public
methods to be overridden with public ones. The restriction on
subclassing a non-open class with an open class remains, and is
in fact consistent with the existing access rule.

508e825ff2 Split 'fileprivate' and 'private', but give them the same behavior.
'fileprivate' is considered a broader level of access than 'private',
but for now both of them are still available to the entire file. This
is intended as a migration aid.

One interesting fallout of the "access scope" model described in
758cf64 is that something declared 'private' at file scope is actually
treated as 'fileprivate' for diagnostic purposes. This is something
we can fix later, once the full model is in place. (It's not really
/wrong/ in that they have identical behavior, but diagnostics still
shouldn't refer to a type explicitly declared 'private' as
'fileprivate'.)

As a note, ValueDecl::getEffectiveAccess will always return 'FilePrivate'
rather than 'Private'; for purposes of optimization and code generation,
we should never try to distinguish these two cases.

This should have essentially no effect on code that's /not/ using
'fileprivate' other than altered diagnostics.

Progress on SE-0025 ('fileprivate' and 'private')

5a83c86455 Eliminate default arguments from TupleType.
In Swift, default arguments are associated with a function or
initializer's declaration---not with its type. This was not always the
case, and TupleType's ability to store a default argument kind is a
messy holdover from those dark times.

Eliminate the default argument kind from TupleType, which involves
migrating a few more clients over to declaration-centric handling of
default arguments. Doing so is usually a bug-fix anyway: without the
declaration, one didn't really have

The SILGen test changes are due to a name-mangling fix that fell out
of this change: a tuple type is mangled differently than a non-tuple
type, and having a default argument would make the parameter list of a
single-parameter function into a tuple type. Hence,

  func foo(x: Int = 5)

would get a different mangling from

  func foo(x: Int)

even though we didn't actually allow overloading.

Fixes rdar://problem/24016341, and helps us along the way to SE-0111
(removing the significance of argument labels) because argument labels
are also declaration-centric, and need the same information.

e72af82f04 Remove the unused isSome Optional intrinsics.
We already have detailed knowledge of Optional's layout in SILGen, so these intrinsics were almost unused. They were only used in a few obscure places by some optional-to-bool conversions, used by 'is [A]' collection tests and the codegen for 'lazy' properties. Change these over to generate an EnumIsCaseExpr that we can directly lower to a 'select_enum' instruction in SILGen, leading to better codegen and obviating the need for these intrinsic functions.

112511cd1c Remember to set AbstractFunctionDecl's generic signature in a few places
I originally added this so that we would keep the signature around
even if type checking failed, and the function was given an
ErrorType.

Add a formal check to the AST verifier for this, and set the signature
in a few places where it wasn't being set.

Note that since we only serialize valid declarations, we don't have
to serialize a reference to the generic signature separately, but we
do have to remember to set it when deserializing, which wasn't being
done for destructors.

7bfdd4a20b Provide fix-its when overriding a bridged type with the old type.
This is support for SE-0069: Mutability and Foundation Value Types.
In cases where someone has overridden a method that takes, e.g.
'NSURL', the override will no longer be valid, because the system
class will now use the value type 'URL' instead. If an override's
full name matches exactly, the compiler will offer fix-its for any
uses of reference types where value types are now preferred.
(This must be a direct match; subclasses, including the mutable
variants of many Foundation types, will need to be updated by hand.)

One wrinkle here is the use of generics. In Swift 2, Objective-C
generics weren't imported at all, so it's unlikely that the overriding
method will have the correct generic arguments. Simple migration
might insert the "bound" type, but it can't know what specific type
might be more appropriate. Therefore, the logic to add the fix-it
ignores generic arguments, assuming the parent's type is correct.

1e3ed8bdd0 Split parsing for typealias & associatedtype, and allow typealias in protocols.
Split up parsing of typealias and associatedtype, including dropping a
now unneeded ParseDeclOptions flag.

Then made typealias in a protocol valid, and act like you would
hope for protocol conformance purposes (i.e. as an alias possibly
involved in the types of other func/var conformances, not as a hidden
generic param in itself).

Also added support for simple type aliases in generic constraints. Aliases
to simple (non-sugared) archetype types (and also - trivially - aliases to
concrete types) can now be part of same-type constraints.

The strategy here is to add type aliases to the tree of
PotentialArchetypes, and if they are an alias to an archetype, also to
immediately find the real associated type and set it as the
representative for the PA. Thus the typealias PA node becomes just a
shortcut farther down into the tree for purposes of lookup and
generating same type requirements.

Then the typealias PA nodes need to be explicitly skipped when walking
the tree for building archetype types and other types of requirements,
in order to keep from getting extra out-of-order archetypes/witness
markers of the real associated type inserted where the typealias is
defined.

Any constraint with a typealias more complex than pointing to a single
nested associated type (e.g. `typealias T = A.B.C.D`), will now get a
specialized diagnoses.

013aad13d4 Initial implementation of a @_cdecl attribute to export top-level functions to C.
There's an immediate need for this in the core libs, and we have most of the necessary pieces on hand to make it easy to implement. This is an unpolished initial implementation, with the following limitations, among others:

- It doesn't support bridging error conventions,
- It relies on ObjC interop,
- It doesn't check for symbol name collisions,
- It has an underscored name with required symbol name `@cdecl("symbol_name")`, awaiting official bikeshed painting.
