b4cf37bf7d Sema: several improvements on missing switch cases diagnostics. (#8026)
1. Make sure the actions taken by fixits are reflected in diagnostics messages.
2. Issue missing cases diagnostics at the start of the switch statement instead of its end.
3. Use <#code#> instead of <#Code#> in the stub.

4f4e6f6ebf Sema: Remove another workaround and fuzz harder
We used to drop the entire generic parameter list if one of the
entries failed to parse. This caused a problem where the generic
parameters were still available for name lookup, so they had
to be special-cased since there's no generic environment set up
in this case.

Now, keep the parts of the generic parameter list around that
parsed successfully.

When I first made the change, almost a hundred crashers regressed;
now all the underlying issues have been fixed.

The result is that in addition to removing a crappy hack we get
some more mileage out of the compiler_crashers, because stuff like
this now builds a generic environment:

f70d2d9e1c [Parse] Skip ahead if seeing any error while parsing list.
If we found any error in a list, in most cases, we cannot expect that the
following tokens could construct a valid element. Skip them, instead of trying
to parse them as the next element. This significally reduces bogus diagnostics.

Bailout if seeing tok::eof or token that can never start a element, after
parsing an element. This silences superfluous "expected ',' separator" error,
or misleading expected declaration error. What we should emit is
"expected ')' in expression list, or "expected '}' in struct".

c8c41b385c Implement SE-0077: precedence group declarations.
What I've implemented here deviates from the current proposal text
in the following ways:

- I had to introduce a FunctionArrowPrecedence to capture the parsing
  of -> in expression contexts.

- I found it convenient to continue to model the assignment property
  explicitly.

- The comparison and casting operators have historically been
  non-associative; I have chosen to preserve that, since I don't
  think this proposal intended to change it.

- This uses the precedence group names and higherThan/lowerThan
  as agreed in discussion.

7bfaeb57f1 [SE-0081] Warn on deprecated where clause inside angle brackets
and provide a fix-it to move it to the new location as referenced
in SE-0081.

Fix up a few stray places in the standard library that is still using
the old syntax.

Update any ./test files that aren't expecting the new warning/fix-it
in -verify mode.

While investigating what I thought was a new crash due to this new
diagnostic, I discovered two sources of quite a few compiler crashers
related to unterminated generic parameter lists, where the right
angle bracket source location was getting unconditionally set to
the current token, even though it wasn't actually a '>'.

9a56a934dd Add new fixits for oldhat inout
Mirrors the fixits provided in ParsePattern for tuples.  We now
diagnose multiple extraneous uses of inout and uses of inout attached
to the parameter name and not the type and offer to move them.

cafbff53af [QoI] Improve diagnostics when putting a class bound in a generic signature
When declaring a nominal type:

struct Weak<T> {
  weak var value: T
}

The diagnostic might mislead the developer to adding ': class' literally
to the 'T' in the generic parameters for `Weak`:

"'weak' may not be applied to non-class-bound protocol 'T'; consider
adding a class bound"

This is misleading in two ways: 1, 'T' isn't necessarily a protocol
(this patch generalizes that part of the message) and 2, you can't put
`: class` in the generic parameter list for `Weak`. In addition, the
stray class constraint causes diagnostic spew that also hides the issue.

Also provide a fix-it to constrain with 'AnyObject', which is probably
what the devloper means in this case.

2118585640 QoI: Provide a fix-it for repeated identifiers in function declarations
A function declaration like:

func dog cow() {}

... yields a bunch of noisy diagnostics about expecting certain tokens, like
"expected '(' in argument list of function declaration", or the dreaded
"consecutive statements on a line must be separated by ';'". Instead,
look for a repeated identifier in this position and affirm that the
repeated identifier wasn't expected, suggesting that maybe this was a
single identifier with a break in it.

b4dbdc49c2 Provide a more specific diag when using keywords as identifiers
When declaring a function like func repeat(){}, the diagnostic is
"expected an identifier" but 'repeat' looks like a reasonable
identifier at first glance, so actually say why it isn't.

7daaa22d93 Completely reimplement/redesign the AST representation of parameters.
Parameters (to methods, initializers, accessors, subscripts, etc) have always been represented
as Pattern's (of a particular sort), stemming from an early design direction that was abandoned.
Being built on top of patterns leads to patterns being overly complicated (e.g. tuple patterns
have to have varargs and default parameters) and make working on parameter lists complicated
and error prone.  This might have been ok in 2015, but there is no way we can live like this in
2016.

Instead of using Patterns, carve out a new ParameterList and Parameter type to represent all the
parameter specific stuff.  This simplifies many things and allows a lot of simplifications.
Unfortunately, I wasn't able to do this very incrementally, so this is a huge patch.  The good
news is that it erases a ton of code, and the technical debt that went with it.  Ignoring test
suite changes, we have:
   77 files changed, 2359 insertions(+), 3221 deletions(-)

This patch also makes a bunch of wierd things dead, but I'll sweep those out in follow-on
patches.

Fixes <rdar://problem/22846558> No code completions in Foo( when Foo has error type
Fixes <rdar://problem/24026538> Slight regression in generated header, which I filed to go with 3a23d75.

Fixes an overloading bug involving default arguments and curried functions (see the diff to
Constraints/diagnostics.swift, which we now correctly accept).

Fixes cases where problems with parameters would get emitted multiple times, e.g. in the
test/Parse/subscripting.swift testcase.

The source range for ParamDecl now includes its type, which permutes some of the IDE / SourceModel tests
(for the better, I think).

Eliminates the bogus "type annotation missing in pattern" error message when a type isn't
specified for a parameter (see test/decl/func/functions.swift).

This now consistently parenthesizes argument lists in function types, which leads to many diffs in the
SILGen tests among others.

This does break the "sibling indentation" test in SourceKit/CodeFormat/indent-sibling.swift, and
I haven't been able to figure it out.  Given that this is experimental functionality anyway,
I'm just XFAILing the test for now.  i'll look at it separately from this mongo diff.

9ed7a57865 [Parser] When parsing error occurs on arguments, we still try to preserve the call expression.
This allows tools, like code completion or jumping to definition, to be able to resolve
function names even though the argument is wrong.

Enhance fixItRemove() to be a bit more careful about what whitespace it leaves around: if the thing it is removing has leading and trailing whitespace already, this nukes an extra space to avoid leaving double spaces or incorrectly indented results.  

This includes an extra fix for looking off the start of a buffer, which extractText doesn't and can't handle.

This fixes <rdar://problem/21045509> Fixit deletes 'let' from non-binding 'if case let' statements, but leaves an extra space

e4b6afb9ae Start moving the testsuite to the "_ = foo()" idiom for evaluating an
expression but ignoring its value.  This is the right canonical way to do

7059871abf Convert some 'var' bindings to 'let' when they are not mutated, some
var/let bindings to _ when they are never used, and use some values that
are only written.  This is a testsuite cleanup, NFC. More to come.

fac5a83bbf Allow capturing super in explicit closures and nested functions.
The previous commit enabled this; now it's just about removing the
restriction in the parser and tightening up code completion.

Using 'super' in a closure where 'self' is captured weak or unowned still
doesn't work; the reference to 'self' within the closure is treated as
strong regardless of how it's declared. Fixing this requires a cascade of
effort, so instead I just cloned rdar://problem/19755221.

3b04d1b013 tests: reorganize tests so that they actually use the target platform
Most tests were using %swift or similar substitutions, which did not
include the target triple and SDK.  The driver was defaulting to the
host OS.  Thus, we could not run the tests when the standard library was
not built for OS X.

3c4c4f1483 Fix for rdar://problem/18926814 (Fuzzing swift: Swift parser crash).
The issue is reproducible in erroneous code scenario when a string literal
has invalid stuff inside interpolation segment, like: “... \( abc } ) ...”.

In this case we used to do some magic for switching context inside the string 
and parse the interior of \(...) as regular expression list, but expected that 
the parsing finishes at closing “)” which does not necessarily true in case
the code has errors.

The assertion was replaced with an error diagnostics.

f875f05a30 [Lexer] When encountering invalid characters, emit diagnostic and ignore them.
...instead of returning tok::unknown, which may confuse the Parser and cause it to crash with llvm::unreachable.
By ignoring them we reduce the complexity in the Parser by not having it worry about tok::unknown.
