fa6f078d0a Continue tidying up Initialization, NFC:
- Privatize "kind" in the base Initialization class.
 - Simplify canForwardInBranch() to just isSingleBuffer().
   There is only one client of it (which avoids emitting the
   formation of an optional temporary) and the only cases we're
   dropping is for "_" patterns and single element tuple patterns,
   which are not worth optimizing for.
 - Change getSubInitializationsForTuple() into a virtual method
   since it has wildly different behavior based on the subclass and
   requires otherwise private implementation details of those subclasses
   to implement it.
 - Simplify subclasses based on these changes.

020fe7835d Various cleanups for the initialization logic:
- Use virtual dispatch to localize some predicates instead
   of having special cases for LetValue inits in global places.
 - Improve 'const'ness of methods.
 - Introduce a common "KnownAddressInitialization" class to centralize
   the notion of an initialization corresponding to a specific physical
   address that is known up front.  Consolidate dupes of this concept into
   uses of it.

997136962e Always open existential types in the type checker.
Consistently open all references into existentials into
opened-existential archetypes within the constraint solver. Then,
during constraint application, use OpenExistentialExprs to record in
the AST where an existential is opened into an archetype, then use
that archetype throughout the subexpression. This simplifies the
overall representation, since we don't end up with a mix of operations
on existentials and operations on archetypes; it's all archetypes,
which tend to have better support down the line in SILGen already.

Start simplifying the code in SILGen by taking away the existential
paths that are no longer needed. I suspect there are more
simplifications to be had here.

The rules for placing OpenExistentialExprs are still a bit ad hoc;
this will get cleaned up later so that we can centralize that
information. Indeed, the one regression in the compiler-crasher suite
is because we're not closing out an open existential along an error
path.

7be9c21c8b SILGen: Rework OpenExistentialExpr emission to better handle guaranteed contexts.
Try to emit the existential as a guaranteed value, and if we succeed, only +1 the bound opaque value if it's needed as a consumed value. This lets us avoid retaining or copying the existential if the existential can be produced and its contained value consumed at +0.

595fb8c94f Introduce lvalue open-existential expressions and start using them.
Place OpenExistentialExprs for references to lvalue subscripts or properties
(in protocol extensions) via existentials just outside of the member
or subscript reference, rather than far outside the expression. This
gives us a tighter bound on the open-existential expressions without
introducing the post-pass I was threatening.

OpenExistentialExprs just outside of lvalue member/subscript are
themselves lvalues. Resurrect John's OpenOpaqueExistentialComponent to
handle the opening of a (materialized) existential lvalues as an
lvalue path component. This has the nice effect of codifying the
formal access rules for opened existentials as well as handling inout
on opened existentials appropriately.

Big thanks to John for talking through the model with me and leaving
dead code around for me to use.

a48c72631c Introduce a writeback scope when opening an existential lvalue.
This isn't the right solution; we should be folding open-existentials
into the LValue machinery rather than subverting it. However, the test
cases are useful for we do get the right solution in place.

ad0d20c07a Fold "AbstractCC" into SILFunctionType::Representation.
These aren't really orthogonal concerns--you'll never have a @thick @cc(objc_method), or an @objc_block @cc(witness_method)--and we have gross decision trees all over the codebase that try to hopscotch between the subset of combinations that make sense. Stop the madness by eliminating AbstractCC and folding its states into SILFunctionTypeRepresentation. This cleans up a ton of code across the compiler.

I couldn't quite eliminate AbstractCC's information from AST function types, since SIL type lowering transiently created AnyFunctionTypes with AbstractCCs set, even though these never occur at the source level. To accommodate type lowering, allow AnyFunctionType::ExtInfo to carry a SILFunctionTypeRepresentation, and arrange for the overlapping representations to share raw values.

In order to avoid disturbing test output, AST and SILFunctionTypes are still printed and parsed using the existing @thin/@thick/@objc_block and @cc() attributes, which is kind of gross, but lets me stage in the real source-breaking change separately.

4821f594bb SIL: Separate SILFunctionType::Representation and ExtInfo from AST FunctionTypes.
The set of attributes that make sense at the AST level is increasingly divergent from those at the SIL level, so it doesn't really make sense for these to be the same. It'll also help prevent us from accidental unwanted propagation of attributes from the AST to SIL, which has caused bugs in the past. For staging purposes, start off with SILFunctionType's versions exactly the same as the FunctionType versions, which necessitates some ugly glue code but minimizes the potential disruption.

dc4b8ff2c2 Incorporate an optional Clang type into AbstractionPattern.
This is necessary for correctly dealing with non-standard
ownership conventions in secondary positions, and it should
also help with non-injective type imports (like BOOL/_Bool).
But right now we aren't doing much with it.

79ed57f9f2 standardize naming of tuples and tuple patterns on "elements".
Previously some parts of the compiler referred to them as "fields",
and most referred to them as "elements".  Use the more generic 'elements'
nomenclature because that's what we refer to other things in the compiler
(e.g. the elements of a bracestmt).

At the same time, make the API better by providing "getElement" consistently
and using it, instead of getElements()[i].

3d77855b31 Start allowing extensions of protocol types.
Remove the semantic restrictions that prohibited extensions of
protocol types, and start making some systematic changes so that
protocol extensions start to make sense:
  - Replace a lot of occurrences of isa<ProtocolDecl> and
    dyn_cast<ProtocolDecl> on DeclContexts to use the new
    DeclContext::isProtocolOrProtocolExtensionContext(), where we want
    that behavior to apply equally to protocols and protocol extensions.
  - Eliminate ProtocolDecl::getSelf() in favor of
    DeclContext::getProtocolSelf(), which produces the appropriate
    generic type parameter for the 'Self' of a protocol or protocol
    extension. Update all of the callers of ProtocolDecl::getSelf()
    appropriately.
  - Update extension validation to appropriately form generic
    parameter lists for protocol extensions.
  - Methods in protocol extensions always use the witnesscc calling
  convention.

At this point, we can type check and SILGen very basic definitions of
protocol extensions with methods that can call protocol requirements,
generic free functions, and other methods within the same protocol
extension.

Regresses four compiler crashers but improves three compiler
crashers... we'll call that "progress"; the four regressions all hit
the same assertion in the constraint system that will likely be
addressed as protocol extensions starts working.

1f23ff27bb Remove the transparent bit from apply instructions.
We no longer need or use it since we can always refer to the same bit on
the applied function when deciding whether to inline during mandatory
inlining.

d6bc8971c7 If imported calls return nil for __nonnull NSString *, pretend it was "".
The string version of r26479. There's a lot of backstory and justification
there, so just read that commit message again. The one addition for String
is that global NSString constants are loaded as String as well, so that
also has to go through the bridging code even though there's no function
call involved.

8247c2d357 If imported calls return nil for 'NSArray * __nonnull', pretend it was [].
...and similar for NSDictionary and NSSet.

For APIs that don't have a reason to distinguish "empty" and "absent" cases,
we encourage standardizing on "empty" and marking the result as non-optional
(or in Objective-C, __nonnull). However, there are system APIs whose
implementations currently do return nil rather than an empty collection
instance. In these cases, we recommend /changing/ the API to return the
appropriate "empty" value instead.

However, this can cause problems for backwards-deployment: while the API is
truly non-optional on system vN, a program may encounter a nil return value
if run on system vN-1. Objective-C can generally deal with this (especially
if the only thing you do is ask for the count or try to iterate over the
collection) but Swift can't. Therefore, we've decided to "play nice" and
accept nil return values for the collection types (NSArray, NSDictionary,
and NSSet) and implicitly treat them as "empty" values if they are the
result of an imported function or method.

Note that the current implementation has a hole regarding subscript getters,
since we still make an AST-level thunk for these in the Clang importer.
We can probably get rid of those these days, but I didn't want to touch
them at this point. It seems unlikely that there will be a subscript that
(a) is for a collection type, and (b) mistakenly returned nil in the past
rather than an empty collection.

There's another hole where an ObjC client calls one of these mistakenly-nil-
returning methods and then immediately hands the result off by calling a
Swift method. However, we have to draw the line somewhere.

(We're actually going to do this for strings as well; coming soon.)

ee4aa14703 Stop reordering blocks in SILBuilder::emitBlock.
This change permits SILGen to make smarter decisions about
block placement by keeping related blocks together instead
of always inserting to the end to the function.  The
flipside is that SILGen needs to be somewhat careful to
create blocks in the right order.  Counter-intuitively,
that order is the reverse of the order in which the blocks
should be laid out, since blocks created later will be
inserted before blocks created earlier.  Note, however,
that this produces the right results for recursive
emission.

To that end, adjust a couple of places in SILGen to
create blocks in properly nested order.

All of the block-order differences in the tests seem
to be desirable; several of them even had confused
comments wondering how on earth a block got injected
where it did.

Also, fix the implementation of SILBuilder::moveBlockTo,
and fix a latent bug in epilogue emission where epilogBB
was erased from its parent (deleting it) and then
queried multiple times (!).

a0a16d78d2 Implement the do/catch statement. Tests to follow.
This patch also introduces some SILGen infrastructure for
dividing the function into "ordinary" and "postmatter"
sections, with error-handling-like stuff going into the
final section.  Currently, this is largely undermined by
SILBuilder, but I'm going to fix that in a follow-up.

f2a520dbc6 SILGen: Don't leak existential container after OpenExistentialExpr.
Leave a cleanup to deinit the container after the uniquely-referenced opaque value is taken out of it. While we're here, stub out support for boxed existentials (though we can't test it since _ErrorType doesn't have any Self-returning methods, and we currently only produce OpenExistentialExprs in the AST for method calls involving covariant Self or metatypes).

59c22383fb Rework PatternBindingDecl to maintain a list of pattern/initexpr pairs inside of it.
Previously, a multi-pattern var/let decl like:
  var x = 4, y = 17

would produce two pattern binding decls (one for x=4 one for y=17).  This is convenient
in some ways, but is bad for source reproducibility from the ASTs (see, e.g. the improvements
in test/IDE/structure.swift and test/decl/inherit/initializer.swift).

The hardest part of this change was to get parseDeclVar to set up the AST in a way
compatible with our existing assumptions. I ended up with an approach that forms PBDs in 
more erroneous cases than before.  One downside of this is that we now produce a spurious
  "type annotation missing in pattern"
diagnostic in some cases.  I'll take care of that in a follow-on patch.

3c2216b115 [+0 self] Add the deallocating parameter convention.
The deallocating parameter convention is a new convention put on a
non-trivial parameter if the caller function guarantees to the callee
that the parameter has the deallocating bit set in its object header.

This means that retains and releases do not need to be emitted on these
parameters even though they are non-trivial. This helps to solve a bug
in +0 self and makes it trivial for the optimizer to perform
optimizations based on this property.

It is not emitted yet by SILGen and will only be put on the self
argument of Deallocator functions.

   it returns the pattern binding, not the pattern.
 - Introduce new getParentPattern()/getParentInitializer() methods,
   covering the most common uses of getParentPatternBinding().

ab43e444d6 Rework processing of @noescape closures a bit to fix rdar://19981118:
- Have Sema, not SILGen decide if a vardecl can be captured by address
  instead of by-box.  This is a non-local property that is best computed
  during capture set formation.  Sema captures this as a bit on the new
  CapturedValue entry.
- Rework some diagnostic emission to centralize a class of noescape 
  diagnostics in capture set calculation.  Previously, funcdecl closures
  produced their diagnostics there, but ClosureExprs produced them in
  MiscDiagnostics (NFC for this part).

This fixes <rdar://problem/19981118> Swift 1.2 beta 2: Closures nested in @noescape closures copy, rather than reference, captured vars.
