This commit compares the decl inside the `@abi` attribute to the decl it’s attached to, diagnosing ABI-incompatible differences. It does not yet cover attributes, which are a large undertaking.

When the BitwiseCopyable experimental feature is enabled, infer types to
conform to `_BitwiseCopyable`. The `_BitwiseCopyable` inference broadly
follows the approach taken to infer `Sendable`.
(1) Special types are conformed:
- function types if trivial
- metatypes
- builtin types if trivial
(2) TheTupleType is conditionally conformed.
(3) Nominal types are conformed if:
- non-public or public+fixed-layout
- enum or struct (non-class)
- every field conforms to _BitwiseCopyable
Additionally, check that nominal types which are explicitly conformed to
`_BitwiseCopyable` satisfy the latter two conditions of (3).
For a public, non-fixed-layout type to conform to `_BitwiseCopyable`,
the user must conform the type explicitly.
Finally, verify that conformances correspond to TypeLowering's notion of
triviality to the appropriate extent:
- if a type isn't trivial, it doesn't conform to `_BitwiseCopyable`
unless it's an archetype
- if a type is trivial, it conforms to `_BitwiseCopyable` unless some
field in its layout doesn't conform to `_BitwiseCopyable`, which is
only permitted under certain circumstances (the type has generic
parameters, the type is public non-fixed-layout, the type is a
reference but has ReferenceStorage::Unmanaged, the type is a
ModuleType, etc.)
This implementation has the function execute a request to scan the
inheritance clause of non-protocol nominals for a `~Copyable`. For
protocols, we look in the requirement signature.
This isn't our final state, as the GenericEnvironment needs to be
queried in general to determine of a Type is noncopyable. So for now
checking for a `~Copyable` only makes sense for Decls.
Use FetchContent to include swift-syntax directly in swift. This can be
thought of as an `add_subdirectory` for a directory outside the root.
The default build directory will be `_deps/swiftsyntax-subbuild/`, though
the modules and shared libraries will be built in `lib/swift/host` by
passing down `SWIFT_HOST_LIBRARIES_DEST_DIR` to avoid copying them as we
were doing previously.
As of CMake 3.25, there are now global variables `LINUX=1`, `ANDROID=1`,
etc. These conflict with expressions that used these names as unquoted
strings in positions where CMake accepts 'variable|string', for example:
- `if(sdk STREQUAL LINUX)` would fail, because `LINUX` is now defined and
expands to 1, where it would previously coerce to a string.
- `if(${sdk} STREQUAL "LINUX")` would fail if `sdk=LINUX`, because the
left-hand side expands twice.
In this patch, I looked for a number of patterns to fix up, sometimes a
little defensively:
- Quoted right-hand side of `STREQUAL` where I was confident it was
intended to be a string literal.
- Removed manual variable expansion on left-hand side of `STREQUAL`,
`MATCHES` and `IN_LIST` where I was confident it was unintended.
Fixes#65028.
For future usage from other host libraries written in Swift
For CMake:
* Explicitly specify LINKER_LANGAGE to CXX in existing components so
that 'swiftc' is not used when linking with 'swiftASTGen'
* Add 'EMIT_MODULE' argument to 'add_pure_swift_host_library' to emit
.swiftmodule usable from other Swift libraries.
Executable compiler plugins are programs invoked by the host compiler
and communicate with the host with IPC via standard IO (stdin/stdout.)
Each message is serialized in JSON, prefixed with a header which is a
64bit little-endian integer indicating the size of the message.
* Basic/ExecuteWithPipe: External program invocation. Lik
llvm::sys::ExecuteNoWait() but establishing pipes to the child's
stdin/stdout
* Basic/Sandbox: Sandboxed execution helper. Create command line
arguments to be executed in sandbox environment (similar to SwiftPM's
pluging sandbox)
* AST/PluginRepository: ASTContext independent plugin manager
* ASTGen/PluginHost: Communication with the plugin. Messages are
serialized by ASTGen/LLVMJSON

Introduce an experimental option `BuiltinMacros` that takes the magic
literals (`#file`, `#line`, `#function`, etc.) after type checking and
processes the original source for the expression using the build
syntactic macro system in the swift-syntax library. At present, the
result of expansion is printed to standard output, but it's enough to
verify that we're able to find the corresponding syntax node based on
the C++ AST.
When parsing a regular expression literal, accept a serialized capture structure from the regex parser. During type checking, decode it and form Swift types.
Examples:
```swift
'/(.)(.)/' // ==> `Regex<(Substring, Substring)>`
'/(?<label>.)(.)/' // ==> `Regex<(label: Substring, Substring)`
'/((.))*((.)?)/' //==> `Regex<([Substring], [Substring], Substring, Substring?)>`
```
Also:
- Fix a bug where a regex literal parsing error is not returning an error parser result.
Note:
- This needs to land after apple/swift-experimental-string-processing#92 and after `dev/4` tag has been created.
- See apple/swift-experimental-string-processing#92 for regex parser changes and the capture structure encoding.
- The `RegexLiteralParsingFn` `CaptureStructureOut` pointer type change from `char *` to `void *` will not break builds due to implicit pointer conversion (SE-0324) and unchanged ABI.

Otherwise we set it on all targets/languages in a subdirectory (I forgot if it
propagates up). Regardless, this type of viral stuff is something we want to
move away from since it creates a code that is a "forall" piece of code rather
than a piece of code that only effects a single target.
I also conditionalized the actual definitions being added on the compiled file's
language being C,CXX,OBJC,OBJCXX since as we add Swift sources to the host side
of the compiler, we will not want these flags to propagate to Swift sources.
- Introduce an UnownedSerialExecutor type into the concurrency library.
- Create a SerialExecutor protocol which allows an executor type to
change how it executes jobs.
- Add an unownedExecutor requirement to the Actor protocol.
- Change the ABI for ExecutorRef so that it stores a SerialExecutor
witness table pointer in the implementation field. This effectively
makes ExecutorRef an `unowned(unsafe) SerialExecutor`, except that
default actors are represented without a witness table pointer (just
a bit-pattern).
- Synthesize the unownedExecutor method for default actors (i.e. actors
that don't provide an unownedExecutor property).
- Make synthesized unownedExecutor properties `final`, and give them
a semantics attribute specifying that they're for default actors.
- Split `Builtin.buildSerialExecutorRef` into a few more precise
builtins. We're not using the main-actor one yet, though.
Pitch thread:
https://forums.swift.org/t/support-custom-executors-in-swift-concurrency/44425
The backs out of some early decisions we made about actor layout
that we don't need. Custom actors will use a different approach.
This should suffice for the remainder of rdar://70146827.
Introduce a new Actor protocol, which is a class-bound protocol with only
one requirement:
func enqueue(partialTask: PartialAsyncTask)
All actor classes implicitly conform to this protocol, and will synthesize
a (currently empty) definition of `enqueue(partialTask:)` unless a suitable
one is provided explicitly.
